I heard his ad on the radio and decided to go to him for a rash I've been having. When I got there the receptionist was very rude, they made wait for 2 hours and when I finally saw Dr. Gunther, he couldn't tell me what was wrong. He gave me some medication that didn't help...I was super disappointed. Dr. Gunter is a good dermatologist, but not customer-service oriented. As he says, he has run his office the same for 20 years and no one has complained, but unless you are the first appointment of the day or right after lunch expect to wait up to an hour for your appointment. When I asked him about this I was informed that it was not worth his time to justify his business practices to me. That may be true, but then it is my prerogative to take my business elsewhere. There are other doctors that provide the same service and I reserve the right to see someone who treats me well. read more

I cannot tell how awful was the experience with this doctor. If you can, please cancel your appointment or don't even go there. I had to wait for more than an hour and then was placed in a COLD room. I got tired of waiting and so I opened the office door to let less cold air to get in and the nurse approached aggressively telling I cannot stand close to the door frame. After waiting for a while, here came Dr. Gunter who did NOT event bother to say HI and apologize for the delay (After MORE than ONE hour of waiting), he did not asked me to sit on the table or chair and said "show me what is wrong with your skin." What kind of doctor does this? Not enough with this rude, terrible encounter, he said "BORING" after examining two spots of my skin. What kind of doctor tells you "BORING." His manner in approaching the consultation session was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO UNPROFESSIONAL and and RUDE, I immediately left his office and did not bother to say goodbye or anything else. I have now been to Dr. Gunter twice. I wanted a full body check for skin cancer as I am in the pool 6-7 months during the year, 3-5 days a week and 1-3 hours at a time. I waited one hour to see him the first time. Talking to other patients in the very crowded waiting room I soon learned that an hour wait for him is normal. When I questioned him about it he asked me what I thought he should do about it...I told him don't schedule so many patients. He let me know that wasn't going to happen. He proceeded to freeze 3 spots dark brown dry spots off my face and told me to come back in 2 weeks The next visit I waited 45 minutes in the waiting room and even though they open at 9 and I had a 9:15 appt. . On my second visit he asked me how the procedure went....really? Told him he was the dr. and I wasn't sure if the results were good or not. He didn't like the answer because he then had to actually look at my medical file to see what he had done and look at the areas of my face he had frozen off to see the results. Had him freeze off 3 more spots on my back. Figured I might as well get something for my time. Told me to see him again in a month. He schedules 4 patients every 15 minutes...never said my name, acted like I was wasting his time and was still out of the room in less than 3 minutes. Not sure what types of doctors you have gone to previously but I don't wait 15 minutes for a dr. Much less an hour. I would rather drive an hour plus and see a Dr who at least pretends they care and will spend time with you explaining what they will be doing, why and what to expect afterwards. read more

Dr. Gunter may come highly recommended, but his office servicescape is in need of a serious overhaul. My wife and I had scheduled appointments previously. The day of our appointment the office called to cancel due to a family emergency, which we get--what is worse is that when we rescheduled they scheduled us on a surgery day. We walk into the entry and there are people everywhere--no seats to be found. Someone walking out expressed they had been there for an hour and 45 minutes--as they left after finally being seen. They handed us a folding chair for my wife to sit out in hallway. Mind you her back injury hasn't improved tremendously and the fact that the A/C system in hallway wasn't working. We might just as well have been in some subpar county facility. Needless to say, we waited a few minutes and then left. I called and spoke to office manager who was very nice but the bottomline is people will go out of the A.V. to seek quality treatment and a positive experience. We scheduled with Advanced Dermatology in Santa Clarita. Got right through by phone, scheduled appointments, and they offer online pre-patient intake. I will update on how my experience is with them, but Dr. Gunter---please get with your office manager to create better systems and processes in the future. read more

Assembly cattle line. I had a mole with the radius of 1/4 inch ... He said we had to take out. He cauterize do it after the test came back negative for melanoma, which would be fine if he didn't leave a huge scar 3inches long by 3/4inch... I followed all of his post op instructions. Wtf I know people that've had the same size mole removed and there's no scar let a lone a hack job. I felt like a freak and always have to explain my unnecessary scar. I know someone else that has gone to him multiple times for melanoma and she looks like sally from the nightmare before Christmas. I will never recommend anyone ever unless they're looking for a war scar. The staff have zero personality and they had problems billing my scar.. It went from 700 to 1900$, how did that magically happen?... No I didn't pay it, I sorted it out read more

Dr.Gunter, Is a good Doctor. I went in to his office for a second opinion, after receiving some bad news from a different dermatologist. Instantly I was told that I did not have skin cancer and he told me to go demand my pathology and bring it to him. Everything was confirmed and he reassured me I was fine, not only that he took it one step further refereed me to a lawyer because he was so angry with the incompetence of the doctor I saw in the beginning, Yes I know the office is very crowed and he can be in a hurry but he is worth the wait. Worst doctor I have ever been to. Do not waste your time or money. Very impersonal. Walks in the room and is out in 5 minutes. Doesn't answer any of your questions thoroughly. Uncaring and impatient. Nurses are unfriendly. And you will be waiting an extra hour and fifteen minutes at least for your appointment as his office is always over packed. Last time I was there people were waiting out in the halls. Utterly unacceptable. Worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. Not worth his reputation WHATSOEVER. read more

Dr. Gunter is an A$$, plain and simple. I went to him to have some skin tags removed from my neck. He gave me some cream to apply 30-45 minutes before my appointment. I put the cream on, drove to his office, sat down and waited, and waited, and waited. Over an hour I sat there with this cream on my neck burning like crazy. I finally got into the exam room and I mentioned how my skin felt like it was on fire because of the cream and he literally mocked me. "Oh, look, she's going to cry." He said something about running behind because he was doing life-saving surgery and said I was selfish to compare what I was there for to what that other person was going through. The man, and I use that term very loosely, has absolutely no bedside manner. After he made fun of me, I said, that's it, I don't need this and got up and left. I called my insurance company when I got home and asked them not to accept any charges from him because he did nothing. They said they'd already been billed and had to pay. It's a scam, a total scam. Get 'em in, get 'em out, bill the insurance companies and to hell with the patients. read more

My first appointment I walked in and saw all the people waiting inside and outside down the hall sitting on the floor like a county funded facility.I asked if I should reschedule my appt since I was not going to wait the 1 1/2 hrs so i did for another time. My next appt I walked in, waiting for about 15 mins and was called to the room. The Dr walked in stood in the door jam area did not introduced himself, how I was, what was my concern, NOTHING! he was so rude then told the nurse to biospy my spot in my face from 5ft away. Next the nurse had me signing the consent not explaining NOTHING!. She got a tray out had me lay down stabbed my spot with novocanine told me the Dr would be in soon. As I was laying there the blood started to drip down my face and around the back of my neck. NO ONE came in to check on me EXPLAIN anything it was like a whirlwind. I got up found a kleenex and walked out of the office. NEVER HEARD A WORD from anybody. It was the worst place ever. I would never recommend anybody to this Dr. He didnt say 2 words to me, the coldest DR ever, nurse was rude. Thank god I had the sense to run while I could and only wish I would have done it sooner before I go stabbed in the face with a needle from a unexperience so call nurse. DO NOT GO HERE! This place is slow, the doctor is rude and they have no respect for YOUR time. I showed up for the appointment I had made ahead of time, just to sit in their waiting room for 50 minutes. As if that wasn't frustrating enough, once it was my turn with the doctor he came in and rushed me right out. I may have had his attention for a full 5 minutes. He constantly interrupted me, talked down to me like a child (I'm 27), and was extremely rude. I don't know how he can call himself a doctor when all he did was glance at my skin and say that he didn't know. After he told me he didn't know what my rash was I expressed to him that I wanted to find out what it is so I can get rid of it and his response was, 'what do you want me to do, take a piece of your skin and biopsy it?' Um, yes! Do your job and find out what is wrong with my skin. I took his prescription write up that he requested I 'humor' him by taking and declined a follow up appointment. I feel like this place is more concerned with getting a follow up appointment than they are with figuring out what is wrong with you in order to treat you properly. Not only does he not care about your time, he does not stand behind his work. I had two biopsies per his recommendation and then he wanted to freeze area. I did this and paid for each visit. Well the freezing did not work and I asked his staff if he would check and redo since nothing happened. I was told ok, after waiting for over an hour he said he doesn't treat patients for free. I explained that it didn't work, didn't scab, blister or sluff off and since it didn't work why couldn't he redo at no charge. He only repeated I don't treat for no charge and he wouldn't even look at it without a fee. I worked for Endodontist's what would redo a long root canal for free if a patient still had problems and he would not even look at it and refreeze which would have taken 3 seconds of his time. It is obvious his only concern is the dollar sign. His first exam I was told to strip and stand in from of him, no robe, no gown. Very humiliating to have to do it this way. Before I moved here my previous Dermatologist would do a very thorough exam and only uncover where she was checking at the time. I really think he doesn't care about you as a person, that is really sad. read more
