My waxing lady, who runs a salon in her home, recently moved about an hour from me and I was in dire need of a wax. Because my lady told me she used to work at this chain, and she's so amazing, I thought that all the ladies would be the same. Absolutely not. I booked a Brazilian (30 min) and inner leg (15min). I should've had 45 minutes total but instead they had me out in 15 minutes battered and bruised. Note: I have never bruised or bled or even yelped in pain in all the 30+ waxes I've received in my life. I have literally been drinking a glass of wine and eating a charcuterie board while getting waxed just fine. This woman just covered large areas with wax and ripped them off to save time and get me out the door. When I was all bruised, she tried to blame it on me shaving. No. It's only been 4 months since my last wax and I only shaved once in between. Ive had waxes in the past after a year of shaving and never had any damage. My skin is not sensitive in the slightest. Stay away from this place. It's honestly the McDonald's of waxing salons. Spend an extra $10 and go to a real aesthetician who takes care of you.

On 12th, I received a text asking if I would like to move the appointment earlier in the morning. Because I was driving into the the city from out of town, I could not do that so I requested to keep the same 2 pm appointment. On the 17th about an hour before my appointment, I receive a text to go to a completely different address in a completely different city outside of Atlanta. Not only would I not be able to get there in time, I did not feel safe doing that since I did not even know who was texting. Plus from where I currently am on the road, it would be an hour there and back with traffic. I tell the person I would be late and they suggest 3 pm. I say, "No thanks. Let's just cancel. I have been on the road all morning. I don't have it in me to drive a hour there and an hour back plus traffic." At that point, I continue driving and head to a restaurant and try to figure out someone else to do my hair. Once I sit down, I realize I'd missed a few calls and texts that said, "I can do the suites then. Call me so we can work it out." Mind you, we are now 15 minutes out from my actual appointment. If she could have done the suites at 2 pm, why was I being asked to come to someone's house? I reply with, 'Hi. My apologies I was in traffic. Thanks for the call, however, I'm no longer interested. I've moved to plan B. I will say that I don't even know who I'm texting with, and yet I was being asked to come to someone's home. Maybe yours? I don't know because I don't even know who this is. But ultimately this amounts to a cancellation since services could not be rendered with the salon where I booked. And now saying the services could be performed at the salon after I canceled means that I was being inconvenienced for some reason... perhaps a personal matter you needed to attend to? I don't know. But it's not relevant. I booked a salon service on Highland in Atl at 2 pm. And that could not be delivered today." Eventually, she says, "Can I call you Every time I call it goes to voicemail I apologize. Are you able to call me. Give me a call. This is Mushiya." At that point, I'd moved on and did not have the space for another appointment for the remainder of very short visit to Atlanta. There's was nothing to say, so I chose not to respond had given a comprehensive reply. I'm not a new Damn Salon client. I'd been there multiple times many years ago. I stopped going many many years ago because of scheduling issues... stylists not showing up, moving appointments last minute, super late starts, finishing half the hair and having to come back the next day...and more overall unprofessionalism. They also had floaters. Yet still it took forever for them to start working on me. My toe polish was easy but my fill took almost two hours!!! Like, how? She is wonderful and one of the main reasons I've stayed. The front desk seems to have constant issues with its system. I've signed up for both text and email appointment reminders, but I never receive them despite mentioning it multiple times. In fact, today I called to confirm my appointment since I hadn't received a reminder, and I was told I didn't even have one scheduled. Thankfully, they had a later opening available. The front desk experience is also very inconsistent. Some staff members are incredibly kind and helpful, while others seem like they don't want to be there. If the office could resolve the ongoing technical issues and provide more consistent customer service, I would gladly give it five stars.
