The work was done quickly and on time. My husband picked up nails and then more nails and then shingles blew off. The local manager assured me this was a "common inconvenience." The crew was told by M to roof right over three vents, including the flapper vent over our shower fan. When we alerted the business, this was corrected and the flapper was put on, but the shower fan blew back into the bathroom. The company owner (in Arizona) yelled at length at my husband when he tried to explain about the shower vent not working--not his problem; his crew were not entering our house etc. etc. I finally got him to stop screaming and assured him that we wanted to trust that everything would be made right, but the crew covering over three vents had made us understandably cautious. He apologized. The following week our electrician pulled the fan and found the vent stuffed with debris from the roof. All is well now with the fan. There was a course of shingles flapping up and down in the wind. That was repaired after we forwarded the video sent to us by our alarmed neighbor. G, the man who did the original measurements and oversaw the corrections, came out once more when shingles blew off the roof. He fixed the immediate problem and told us that the roof was still not properly nailed in some places and the crew needed to come back. They have not returned to do that. We were billed extra beyond the bid price for flashing our skylights--why? The skylights were always there and I assumed would have been included in the bid. But the roof seems to still be on.

Russ (owner of Lariat Roofing and Construction) impressed us with his sales skills. After we sorted…read morea half-dozen competing bids, and even though Russ was NOT our lowest bidder, he won us over. We hired Russ to remove an aging torch-down low-slope roof from our home, to repair dry rot, and then install insulation boards, heat-welded TPO membrane + flashing, and new gutters. Experience while the $14,100+ project (+ T&M for dry rot repairs) was in progress was OK, they left a mess, took longer than expected, and they even admitted to rushing through work. But we took things in stride; thinking this was typical of roofing contractors. In early December 2013, Russ said our project was complete. By January 2014, rainwater was leaking in from the roof. Other experiences: * A professional inspection concluded that installed materials where not as described in contract: a classic bait and switch. * Russ argued against everything from pulling permits, manufacturer specifications, a certified installer's inspection report, and established building codes. * Russ's defects ran the gamut of open membrane cuts, missing sealants, missing vent clamps, overheated/melted materials, missing roof edging and flashings, inadequate membrane anchoring, bowing gutters, and product installed upside down with packing materials still attached. * Russ filed a lien, but our single settlement meeting lasted mere hours (with no payment or performance requirements by us; just Russ agreeing to release the lien, plus a few other things) * Russ then breached the settlement, which necessitated months of letters, before he finally performed as promised. We had to hire another roofing company to fix Russ's "work". They ultimately had to touch/fix just about everything Russ's team touched, including completely removing and replacing over 600 sq-ft of roofing membrane. The 2nd roofing company was paid well over $7,000 for their work. In-all, our experience with Lariat Roofing & Construction, and especially Russ, was a complete nightmare. Russ also lost what has so-far amounted to about $10,000 in referral business; what a shame, he seemed like such a nice guy at first... if you want to know who saved our roof, did beautiful work, and earned multiple referrals from us already; that obviously wasn't Russ...but you'll find them in my other reviews.

Hired this company as part of a state home modification so unfortunately could not fire them part…read moreway through. $22,000 for ceiling removal with asbestos abatement, sound dampening and a new soffit. It was weeks of trying to avoid doing contractual work, add fees, calling me names, hanging up the phone on me before the first crew finally walked off of the job in front of the company owner. No apology provided to me, but after significant negotiation they did agree to hire a subcontractor to fix their work. Unfortunately this meant that they sanded their texture work and did not seal the ductwork first and refused to put up plastic in the doorway. I had to put up plastic and then spent 30 hours cleaning my home once I figured out what the air quality issue was. I have a disability and am prone to respiratory infections which is what I was diagnosed with following this event. The new crew told me that the soffit the previous crew built was too crooked to fix but I wouldn't notice it. They decided that they completed the project and the problem was the ductwork underneath the soffit. They want thousands more to replace my ductwork and build a new soffit. I cannot find their electrical license online although they did electrical work. The light fixture they installed will not turn off and they will not hire an electrician to fix their work. This was supposed to be a home modification project to help my disabled son--a fact that they have had no regard for throughout the project.

The finished project had large dark spots (discolored areas) and there are smaller areas that are pockmarked. The driveway was enlarged, and it looks awful, it ruins the curb appeal to my home. Tony and his crew did a phenomenal job with my house siding (August 2023). I had bids from 5 other…read moresiding contractors and companies, but went with Tony because he was the most professional, answered all my questions, looked at my house and garage thoroughly, gave me the best price, and to crown it all the new siding came repainted ~ almost the same color as my existing siding ~ so that I could cross that project off my list! The other contractors who had come didn't even mention this, so I faced an extra job and fee with them! The crew was great, they were so hard working, as well as experienced and knowledgable. The first day they tore off all the old siding, and in the next week+ they replaced any rotten boards, weatherproofed everything, put up the new siding and trim, and left the place super tidy at the end of every day. Tony walked around with me on the last day, and any outstanding little final touch-ups were done. Some neighbors and other passerby have even said how great it all looks now. Before, the old siding was peeling, dull and warped. Now it all just looks wonderful and really high quality!
