We dropped our dog for boarding for a period of 2 weeks. He was perfectly healthy. When we picked him up after 2 weeks, He got sever ear infection. This place is the cheapest boarding place around but they provide the WORST service you can imagine. They charge you TAX and Credit Card processing fees for BOARDING. On file they show as if they're the best breeder and boarding place around but in reality They're ABOSLUTELY NOT. So please BE CAREFUL. read more

The best breeder in America with the best cutest dogs alive. Bought 2 dogs and would buy a third but we are a bit to old. I have read some negative reviews.., baloney Sharon puts her heart and soul into her dogs and cares more about them than most parents of humans. She will SELECT only the most sincere and qualified owners. if you don't treat this as a lifelong commitment she will know it. This place is the best of the best and they usually have a long waiting list. We got the perfect puppies for us because ShAron really cares and spends a lot of time matching the perspective owners with the puppy that suits them best. She has a sixth sense about these dogs so please trust her and you will not be disappointe. The puppies cost about $3000 and r worth 3 million. read more

I asked a question that "so my number changed because other factors were involved that none of us knew about until now?" The response was very unprofessional and uncalled for. Rude and arrogant woman owning this business. Collects 50$/application, while everyones' else applications are free, and keeps a full control over the choices for the litter and ur place on the waitlist, claiming they know better what puppy to pick for you. Meanwhile, nothing in the application insinuates what puppy temper will best match w you, neither are puppies' temperament developed by 8 weeks. Website is a mess with different fonts, different font size, different colors and a bunch of wording with no clarity of the process. No phone numbers are given so you cannot reach them either. I have had three other Golden Retrievers and have had the privilege of dealing with the most professional breeders in the past. I've used this kennel three times now. When I first went there, I asked to see the kennels and they allowed me to. They were all clean and I felt confident leaving my baby there. I had them groom my giant Schnauzer pup while she was there and they did a lovely job. Because I was worried leaving my pup for the first time, I had asked for a photo of her which they sent me! The kennels are nice. My pup needed meds twice a day and they had no problem administering these to her. I was allowed to bring her toys and her own bed. They are also breeders of giant poodles and golden retrievers who also are in the kennel and make it a fun place to socialize my pup. I would recommend. read more

Less than 1 star. This is our first time going through the process of buying a puppy with a breeder. We were very excited! And still are, but will not be using this breeder simply because of the initial phone call. The lady who picked up was ridiculously rude. If you call, be prepared to be redirected to the website because phone calls 'frustrate her'. She spent more time complaining about phone calls and how no one reads her website than letting me ask a question. read more

On the recommendation of a friend that breeds and shows Golden Retrievers on a small scale, my wife and I got a Golden Retriever puppy Augie from Sharon and Mike, who own and run Sun-Golden. Sharon has been breeding dogs since she was a kid (she still is at heart!). She and her husband Mike have turned a passion she had as a young girl into a successful business that breeds Golden Retrievers and Poodles and boards dogs. Our now 14 week old Augie's dad is an AKC Grand Champion and his mom is a Champion. He is the smartest puppy I have ever owned and I've owned a lot. We have been having a flat out ball with Augie. Never again.... This is the second time we've used this kennel (against the advice of others and our better judgement). Leaving on vacation early Wednesday morning, we dropped our family member off on Tuesday evening. The route to get there was obstructed by a "bridge out" construction project less than a mile away. No heads up was given, but that's neither here nor there. After the hour long trek to find an alternate route, we arrived. There were two young girls working the counter. One other customer was being helped, and after they left we were the only people at the kennel. They were very nice, but knowing the kennel wanted to review our family member's shots, we provided his entire folder that documented his medical history, registration, and all vaccinations that he has received. The staff reviewed it and said we were good to go. The next day while in St. Louis, MO we received a message from "Sharon" indicting our family member was missing a vaccination and our family member couldn't stay there without it. We were informed that a traveling vet would be stopping by to provide the shot. No price was given, just that it was happening. An online search said it was typically $15. The best part was the smug, condescending message that "Sharon" left stating that was "why it is so important to stick around" and not to "run out even when it's busy". Are you kidding me? We were the only two customers there and asked if everything was ok before being excused. We were livid. We called back once, no Sharon. She left another message. In a business where customer service is important, and there are other options, why this place feels the need to lecture and belittle is beyond us. Especially without having their facts straight. If it's that important, train your staff or be there in person. At least try being polite. I'm disappointed 0 stars isn't an option for this review. We will NEVER stay there again. Don't waste your time or money on this place, go someplace where they care about your pet. Oh, and they charged us $105 for the said $15 shot. read more

I have wanted a golden retriever for a long time. When my husband and I finally decided to each get our dream dogs, I spent a lot of time researching where to get my dog from. That's when I stumbled upon Sun-Golden Kennels. Their dogs are rigorously health tested and have a gorgeous shape and temperament. Everywhere I take my dog - vet, groomer, dog park, training classes - they are impressed by his bone structure and attitude. And he is only 10 months old!! I'm proud of my dog, and it's a nice feeling when other people admire him too. I love the process of getting a puppy from them too. When you are accepted to a litter, they add you to a private Facebook page where you get to see momma and puppies grow, day by day. Then, about 2 weeks before they are ready to go home, you have a puppy meet-and-great. You get to meet all the puppies of the sex you are taking home (all the males or all the females) to help decide which puppy will be the best fit for your home. Then, after the puppy visits, they are temperament tested and assigned to their forever families. At first, I won't lie, I thought it was strange that you don't get to choose which puppy you take home. But I've realized that this is the best way for it to happen. Sharon can tell which dogs will work in which homes best. And I could not imagine another boy that would have fit better than my Harry boy. He has more personality than any other dog that I've ever had (and I foster dogs, so I have had a LOT of dogs in my house!!). I cannot thank this kennel enough for the amazing work they do and the beautiful boy they have given me. If you are looking for a great, responsible breeder, look no further than Sun-Golden.
