    Chipped nails

I got my nails done yesterday. First guy did a horrible job. Paint all over my skin and a very patchy job. He sat me down again to "fix it". I left cause I had errands to run and noticed it was dented and still spotty. The second guy tried to convince me it was good. Finally, he redid it which looked a lot better but not even 24 hrs later and my nails are all chipping. It was table 16 and the table nearest the door.

Thick horrible gel powder nails, crap left all over her hands, and the request was for rounded pointed tips. WTF?

Visit Date: 8/17/21 During a recent visit to Dearborn, I went to Sun Nails, I haven't been here since moving years ago. It has changed in recent years and it is essentially a nail factory, where they bark at customers, pointing and shouting to direct them to a certain station or chair. ZERO customer service. Stations are jammed together, people on top of each other. This part, is not the reason for the lowest rating possible... My daughters nail experience was ATROCIOUS. The person that did her nails did not guide her or give her the different options for artificial nails. She glued tips on, cut them down and then asked her what shape she wanted. She had already told her that she wanted a rounded point. The response was "I can't do that shape with the length that I cut them". From there, she went on to do a terrible job AND left gel powder and color "bakedall over her hands. See pics of this hack job. All the while... the lady was watching a movie on her phone, while doing my daughter's nails. I had already paid before I saw her nails. I'm absolutely disappointed in what has become of this place. Folks, shop around, and avoid this place at all costs. Do not go into this place if you do not know which tech you are going to get. I hope this review will help someone, it will make me feel better about the $60 I just flushed down the toilet.

WARNING!!!! DO NOT GO HERE! BLACK PEOPLE....KEEP YOUR MONEY!!! I was a loyal customer until I got unsatisfactory service and customer service. I went in for a french manicure on my nails and toes with shellac. My service was as usual. I noticed that in 2 days the clear polish turned YELLOW on my toes. Remind you, ive never had this happen and Ive been to several salons. I called and told them that I had a problem with my toes and that it needed to be done over because the polish changed from pinkish to YELLOW. The lady indicated to me that I shouldnt TAN and that it wasnt their fault. I quickly informed her that IM BLACK and I dont tan!!!!!! I returned to the nail salon only to be told that I have YELLOW toenails (WHICH I DO NOT). I remained calm and kept a quite tone because I believe that this was my experience and not everyone else's. The man turned to his client and asked her for some type of validation (which she agreed with me to simply redo at least the big toe to make sure it was the product and not my nail bed). The shop owner consulted another paying client about my situation as if she could do something all the while, she kept agreeing with me. No remedy was given, no money was refunded. I had to go to another shop and was totally satisfied. I lost out on money and they lost a customer!!!! PISSED DO YOU HEAR ME!!!!

Beware!! After a summer of getting pedicures there I ended up with a nail fungus on both of my big toes. I treated and cured the fungus. It is now February and my nails are just starting to grow back.

Shut it down! What kind of shape is this? These hoodlums are swindling customers --This man working at station 5 tried to sell me additions for more money being sneaky trying to up charge me and was instantly irritated when I told him twice-----that I wanted what I wanted. Is this a coffin shape because I'm dead. The acrylic they use is cheap and your nails will fall off if your not super careful and they will not fix it for free this place is a joke! Last time I promise

Beware!!! I went to go get a pedicure and acrylic set. First of all the pedicure lasted 10 min she was rushing it so fast literally the fastest pedicure I've ever gotten. Than I told the guy I want an acrylic set he asked me if I want gel polish I said no. He finished the set and than did his own gel set after I said I don't want one and charged me for it too just to get more money out of me after I specifically said I don't want it. I just payed and left. The following day I felt pain in my toe and a week and a half later I definitely got an infection from the pedicure and still feel constant pain! My first and last time ever going here if u want an infection and pay for something you didn't ask for go ahead and go here! As you can see in the picture it's swollen red and you can tell there's an infection!!!

I had a good pedicure, then I went to seat number one where I let the man know what I wanted and he started. He had shellac wet on my nails and filed on the same hand leaving grainy bumps. I politely let him know SEVERAL times I would not be happy if it showed. It did and I let him know for the fourth and final time I wouldn't be happy with that end result. He ignored me deliberately and kept blaming me for not " drying my hands under the uv light right ". I've been doing my nails over 15 years and I know how to set them under the light. I then said nvm I want to pay and leave. He fought me on that and when I finally gave him my card to pay, he found it necessary to toss my card at me. I will never return and I absolutely maintain that has been my worst nail experience to date.

Just went here to get my nails done!! The guy that took me worked really fast I kinda felt intimidated at how fast he was working but I think he got most of what I asked for pretty well! The glitter was the nail technicians touch it looked way better than I had in mind. I got almond nails and did regular powder instead of gel for the price difference . Did a really well job at doing my nails, workers could be a bit more lenient at explaining different things, but they worked really fast and took them less than an hour to do these(: . Price is quite reasonable as well! def coming back

I am SO picky when it comes to my nails. *Knock on wood* I have yet to have a bad experience here. I've had both Leo and Ann do my nails, and they've killed it every time. I typically ask for them to keep my nails long, oval shape and I mix OPI colors 214 and 2 for the perfect shade of pinkish nude. I had Leo do a nail design (yin yang) and he copied the picture perfectly. The pricing isn't too bad either. Coming from LA, it's pretty average. I typically pay around $30 for a pedicure and depending on what I do with my nails anywhere from $35-$70. This particular time I did gel powder, shellac and a nail design. I did 4 stars instead of 5 because although I like my nails, the service could be a little better. Sometimes it's difficult to communicate to the nail technicians and they don't always take criticism well. I also hate the fact that there is still a charge for credit cards. It is more rare to use cash these days, so I'm not sure why this is still a thing. They did start accepting Venmo for tips, so that's helpful. They also do NOT accept American Express, which is frustrating. With regards to Covid - they are clean and have taken all the necessary precautions. I feel very safe here.

First time at Sun Nails and it was wonderful! Julie did an awesome job on my gel mani pedi with a very relaxing leg message and hot towel included. They currently have all the necessary COVID precautions in place with a simple check in and temperature taking process when you walk in. Would highly recommend for gels! Will definitely be coming back in the future.

Friendly service, have been going there for many years (my daughter likes Sun Nails as week) never have to wait more than 15 minutes, they offer a lot of options for your nails, I always get a cute design or detail in my nails, love their pedicures as well. Jacob and Lee are awesome!

Worst nail salon I've ever been too I always get almond shape and I don't know what in the freakin world is this

Decided to try this nal salon for the first time for me. I usually read reviews on places to make…read moremy decision to make an appointment & go there. Having said that, reviews here are mixed, but I decided to make an appointment to see for myself. Being my first outing out to have an overdue pedi since I've been homebound in back surgery recovery, I was excited to have a relaxed, pampering experience, which I did NOT get. I decided to go for the "deluxe" pedi advertised on their pricing board for $40, to which I also added on a paraffin treatment for an extra $8 as advertised. The lady that did my pedi, not sure of her name since she never really introduced herself so I'm assuming she was the owner, Jazmin's mother or sister. Pedi was uncomfortable & at times painful for me with rough scraping around & underneath my nails. So much so, that I STILL have a very sore spot underneath my big toe that now hurts with every step. Pedi was meticulously slow, couple that in a chair that didn't go back far enough for me to extend my legs comfortably, as the length of this pedi in this chair my legs were cramping up. These were the only 2 staff working & tagged team each other in my appointment. All I was having done for a mani was a cut/file down on my natural nails with polish & 2 fingers of nail art. Told this lady how I wanted my nails filed & the end result was uneven in both shaping & length. She asked me after filing the first nail how I liked it for shaping & it was good, however the rest were not. Now after the hand massaging & filing, she now goes to work on another client as now Jazmin takes over to do my polish & liked the nail art she did on my 2 nails. Checking out at the front, Jazmin now tells me the pedi is $55, to which she evidently raised the price from what was stated on her pricing board! Then the total changed 3 different times when I questioned it! From $100, to $103, then $110 that I was later told when I called back the salon afterwards for clarification since I was STILL confused at how she arrived at that total! I left a $15 tip on my card when I was given the 1st total of $100. Jazmin helped me get my credit card out of my wallet so the color wouldn't smudge on my wallet to which it did anyway, so she then cleaned it off, even though I was told my nails were dry, apparently not. As I was gathering my wallet, water bottle getting ready to leave, Jazmin then walks back to her other client, loudly announcing to her other staff worker that my total was$128 & that I left a $15 dollar tip, in front of the rest of the clients in the salon to hear. Totally unprofessional & inappropriate! Not sure if she did that to embarrass me or what, but I was appalled. I called her back once I was home for clarification on the total amount of bill & asked for a itemized receipt to be emailed to me to which she said couldn't be done, so she then verbally went over the pricing over the phone. When I questioned her pricing while still in the salon for her pricing discrepancy on the pedi, she said she would "throw in" the nail art on 2 nails for free, told her she didn't need to do that. So now on the phone, after her explanation of charges which now changed again, I did say to her....then your advertised pricing is then WRONG! To which she had no comment to that. I felt conflicted about giving a bad review, as I don't wish to admonish anyone's small business, but felt under these circumstances this should be made available for people to make their own decisions. Having said that, this was MY experience. From the noise level to her babies high pitched crying & little dog's yapping, coupled with the rest explained above, this was not the relaxed atmosphere I was looking to have. If anything, the whole experience caused me even more stress. Not to mention that the whole pricing debacle was in my opinion, unethical & deliberately misleading. Lesson learned that I will in the future will definitely ask to confirm pricing at any other salon I will go to in the future.

Wait for the business Reply and you will know what I'm talking about!!!…read more I was previously a loyal and generous client of this salon due to the quality of service I once received. Also due to my passion for supporting small family businesses , However, my recent experience revealed a deeply concerning and unacceptable environment that I believe the public should be aware of. After a service that failed within two days, I contacted the salon and was scheduled for a corrective appointment. Upon my arrival, I was met with hostility and blatant unprofessionalism from one of the technicians. She greeted me with a dismissive and rude attitude and treated me disrespectfully throughout my visit. In front of other customers, she spoke about me in an unprofessional and inappropriate manner. Even more concerningly, she loudly discussed a personal altercation she had earlier that day with a neighboring contractor. During this conversation, she made offensive and discriminatory remarks about Arab individuals, and generalized negative comments about immigrants, stating that immigrants should "go back to their countries." As someone of Arab background, I found these remarks deeply offensive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. She also made aggressive statements about possessing a weapon and suggested she would not hesitate to use it if provoked, creating an atmosphere that felt unsafe and hostile. Disturbingly, several customers who appeared to be her personal friends were present during this time. Rather than helping to de-escalate the situation, they seemed to encourage and cheer on her loud, inappropriate behavior. No one intervened to stop the harassment, which only contributed to the toxic and unsafe environment. Ironically, while the technician repeatedly bragged about being highly educated and calling herself the "doctor of nails," her behavior reflected the opposite of professionalism, business ethics, and basic customer service standards. Her conduct was entirely inconsistent with what one would expect from someone claiming to be highly educated!! While the older sister handled the situation more professionally -- redoing my nails without charging me , promising me that she will talk to " her mom " about her young sister, and confirming that her sister talks too much and apologizing for her sister's inappropriate behavior -- unfortunately, professionalism and safety are non-negotiable for me. A safe, welcoming, and respectful environment should be the minimum expectation for any business. I prioritize my peace of mind and well-being, and unfortunately, the environment here did not provide that. A safe, calm space is essential for relaxation, and it was disappointing to experience hostility and unnecessary noise. Women, in particular, deserve an environment where they can unwind without harassment or discomfort. Because of this experience, I can no longer recommend this salon to anyone, especially those from minority or immigrant backgrounds. I hope the management takes immediate and serious action to address these serious issues for the safety and dignity of all clients.

I have been a sporadic customer for the last 20 years, and I always leave content but never thrilled. I don't like that they state a pedicure is $35 but tend to randomly charge you $37 or $42. I got more than one regular polish color, no nail art, and they charged $42 :/ C'mon... $35 plus tip is plenty. I also didn't love that they kept putting the buffed skin, clipped toenails, and excess sugar scrub back in my tub water. I feel like they should've just used a fresh hand towel and took care of that in the back during clean up. I do appreciate they use disposable plastic tub coverings, so there is a fresh one for each customer- safer. All technicians wear gloves. There are several technicians so the wait time isn't terrible. The color selection for regular polish could be more extensive and better organized. The ventilation could be better. They did not offer me a beverage and it wasn't overly busy- I just always think that's a nice touch. The pedicure did give a small massage and some exfoliating. With dry time, I was in and out in an hour. There are tvs but no sound/music on. The drying stations for toes is just two baby fans plugged in the wall (see pic.) Overall, it's a convenient location and decent.
