Located in a strip center right off of Michigan Ave. in Dearborn. Because of the strip center, there's plenty of parking. The interior of the salon with very nice. Everything seemed to be new or newer inside, which is nice to see for a salon. It's quite cozy with the decor and aesthetic. I had paid $40 for shellac nail polish and a polish change on my toes.The lady that worked on my nails was really nice. It was pretty quiet inside the salon even though all 6-7 nail stations were occupied. The only reason for the 4-stars instead of 5, the price to polish my feet was the highest I've ever paid. Normally it's about $10-$12 anywhere else. Also, the nail technician sitting next to the booth I was at, kept humming every single song that came on. Two things went really wrong here for me. First, the nail tech began to use a dirty, used nail file on me. I had to ask her to stop and use a fresh one. She couldn't understand me so the nail tech next to her translated. Secondly, I asked if my nails were too short for an almond shape. The nail tech next to her translated and assured me they were long enough. My nail tech brutalized my right nail, cutting it very painfully short. This is by far not the best pedicure I've ever had, but it wasn't the worst. The salon was pretty accommodating my toes actually look pretty decent. I would've appreciated if the tech had worked on my calluses a little bit more, they were pretty well ignored. But all in all not a use of money. read more

This place might be out my way slightly but the only reason I come here is due to they have more staff working. Honestly the only issue I have is when I get my nails done and at the end; it basically if the person puts 1x coat of clear nail polish or 2x coats. If someone one puts 1x coat - they don't have an issue with you adding other coat at the dry station (well at least that's what I do). Price is similar to most places - I haven't tried pedicure yet but there's plenty of seating, so that will be in the near future for me and maybe my parents. This little gem of a small business is in a strip mall that doesn't get much action (since the major grocery store has closed) I found it from visits to the Coney Island next door. Alex was my first nail technician and now I have Hannah, and both do excellent work with manicures and pedicures: gentle but thorough, good attention to details, professional yet very personable. Hannah "tames" my troublesome toe very well and almost always makes me sleepy when massaging my feet/ legs. The decor is very stylish, clean and the massaging pedicure chairs are newer/ very comfortable. There are 6-7 of them and 8-10 stations for manicures, What I like is that the noise level is lower, creating a relaxing atmosphere while you're getting pampered, even though the 3-4 TV's are on. Another aspect I like is staff interact with their clients more than they do each other. I find the prices very affordable (regular polish pedi/mani or shellac mani) for the high quality service I receive. I honestly can't remember prices because it doesn't matter, it's worth it and I highly recommend. read more

I'm unsure what has happened but, he shoved my hand back towards me. The salon has always been a walk in. He said next time make an appointment. I have no problem with that at all. I would not have walked in if I had known that. I have no idea why this man hate me so much. It could not have been my phone ringing. Or me talking to my child. He never said that offended him. My nails did turn out nice but I did have bleeding from my cuticles since it seemed the person who was doing my nails was rushing. For my pedi I got No scrub on my feet, no lotion on feet, no basic pedi stuff Literally! She cut mt cuticles without even soaking them. The cost was crazy. The technician was a nice girl but had no skills. Biggest problem is when they take you to the drying station, wait while you fumble your belongings to pay them, then they bring you back change (not broken down because they expect you to give them a $5 tip!) and then stand there waiting for a tip! Since the new owners took over I've come here three times. Every single time I come here there is an issue. I've tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt but I'm always leaving let down. In the middle of my pedicure today another person walked in and requested the lady who was doing my nails. She got up and left me in the middle of my pedicure to do her nails. Completely unprofessional. If that lady that walked in had an appointment the owner should have known not to sit me down with her. One of the workers (lisa) legit refused to do my nails for no absolute reason. She had no other appointments and was sitting down on her phone when this happened. It's very obvious when they're talking shit about you in their language. Her doing this felt very racist! I've never had my nails done by her nor has there ever been any confrontation for her to refuse me. EVER. Neither of the managers there said anything. Completely ignored her refusing. I still have cuticles on my toes and my big toe had a bubble of polish on it. And the manicure.. She filed my nails unevenly. This place used to be ok but the quality has been going steadily downhill. Even though it's within walking distance of my home, I will go elsewhere because I'm concerned about a number of health practices that I observed. On one occasion, I was getting a pedicure and a woman walked in with her husband. Apparently, she had an appointment and the husband started yelling at the staff person so flustered, she got up with the tools she had been using on my feet and just moved over one spot. So gross, I would have overlooked it but the next time I got my nails done for shellac manicure, the lady started taking the shellac off by tearing it off my nails by sticking her nails under my nail bed. She actually lifted bits of my nail with the shellac and I know the proper way to do this is to dissolve the shellac. She was very rough and squeezed my fingers hard even after I told her she was hurting me. They get a "2" only because they worked on my mom who is partially paralyzed and cannot communicate due to expressive aphasia, however the woman who worked on her was a bit rough as every sensory part of her body requires a gentle and slow touch. I had the same one so I can state the same. She also was coughing all over me, her then wiping her nose with her hand/arm and continued to work on us. There was a lot of chatter between them all in their native tongue which I find extremely rude. They should try to walk a mile in someone's shoes before having dialect amongst themselves- try communication or dialect with one of the 4 patrons I brought in, not with one another. I guess the only one (thank God) who wasn't cut or hurt was my youngest 12 year old daughter. For some reason she was fortunate enough to have a gentle person who gave her a nice looking mani/pedi vs all the rest of us who have bleeding cuticles and sore even today. Either invest in some up close reading glasses or perhaps re think your profession as I'm sure your State of Michigan licenser would like to know of your qualifications and skills if lacking. Like I said to begin with, only for "working" with us as my mom is a total assist from wheelchair to the foot spa seating and then to move her again to the wheelchair and back to the car was no easy feat or relaxing for me. We had to put tea tree oil and another antibiotic ointment around our cuticles last night and today. Wear a mask if you're coughing instead of coughing on your immune compromised clientele and if you need to stop and blow your runny nose - then do it and wash your damn hands. There's also cough drops which help suppress the cough that YOU NEVER EVEN TRIED TO COVER WITH YOUR HAND- Just coughed all over us. There's so many pictorial signs these days that depict this is the #1 way to spread germs. With the open cuts in the cuticles, PERFECT way to have the germ host enter the body. Hand washing is the number ONE way to prevent the spread of germs. I found it disgusting to have her snotty hand in the foot bowl and also while touching my feet. It's very rude and disgusting and not professional. I'm sure ANY nail salon would have worked with us that night and would not have encountered these things. Thanks for working with us with my mom/grandmother -but you also need to work on your technique and etiquette. I paid full prices with good tips despite all of this but would Yelp so the manager understands the need to change things here. Not acceptable. Just moved a few blocks away from here and was looking for a new "go-to" mani/pedi place. I knew I wanted somewhere that not only looked but "felt" clean, the people were friendly, and that had enough chairs so that I didn't feel I would be waiting a half hour every time I walked in. This hit the bill in every way! Tons of polish color choices, staff was friendly and didn't hurt me; the relaxing little steps like the hot towel wrap on my legs were nice, too. I absolutely love this place. In fact, I pass many other nail salons on my 30 minute commute from this business to my house, simply because they are the best. I never get my fingernails done here (no reason against them, I just choose not to have my nails done) however, I ALWAYS come here for a pedicure and they are amazing. The quality is definitely there and the price matches the quality (not too expensive). The staff is very welcoming and friendly. This is such a clean salon and I always feel comfortable when I come in for a visit. Great selection of polishes and new items to make your experience the best. For example, when getting a pedicure, instead of them struggling to hold your foot up in the air while they clean your feet, they have a nice foot stand that's comfortable & makes it much easier to relax. The last two times I visited Luxe Nails and Spa I felt totally rushed by the technician. Her ability to communicate was less than it should have been considering she is doing a service that requires communication. I clearly stated on both visits that I wanted a gel (shellac) manicure. Note the use of the word manicure which I clearly said. On both occasions I received a shellac polish as opposed to a manicure. There was no soaking of my nails, no trimming of the the cuticles, in other words, all the services that go with a manicure. I have had the same technician twice, and her inability to understand clearly what I'm asking for is frustrating to say the least. So I had not been back but today I decided to give them another chance. My first stop was the restroom where I witnessed an employee leaving restroom without washing his hands! I should've left then. I sit in chair for my pedicure and the water is too hot. I tell the lady it's to hot and she adds more hot water. So while I'm refusing to put my feet in this hot water, nail tech walks away AND THE employee who didn't wash their hands is coming over to adjust my water temperature! I stop him and asked him to wash his hands. He refuses! The manager is useless. Tells me that the water temperature is fine and employee did wash hands ( I watched the man and he never did). Took my sister here and she got mani/pedi. I got shellac mani. We both got eyebrows done. Place was very clean and welcoming. Slow day when we went it. Sister had no complaints about her mani pedi and both of our eyebrows turned out well but she didn't wax the unibrow area for some odd reason. In terms of my shellac, I have gotten shellac at two other salons and the shellac here lasted the longest. One week before a chip- and that's with cashiering, cleaning, and taking a trip to California for four nights ( think ocean water, sand). He did a great job of cleaning up my nails after the shellac had been applied so there wasn't any top coat on the sides of my nails/fingers. I have yet to find another salon to do this. You're ANGRY cuz your broke ass shop got a customer in?? What nonsense establishment are you running?..or is this a blatant display of prejudice towards a black patron? They have tons of colors to choose from and the salon is super clean. If you hate plucking facial hair I highly suggest getting waxed your eyebrows will be waxed to perfection.
