I love this place ! First of all, I was greeted and made to feel very welcome by the hostess. The salon is super-clean, spacious and very well lit. Love my nail tech Tommy, he does an awesome job but you should make an appointment if you plan on going at a busy time, All the techs there are good but if you find someone you like you may not get them again if you don't have an appointment. I found Sun Nails as a "drive by" this winter. I was tired of driving farther into Milford (near or past the mall) when I live closer to Devon and Stratford. Jenny, the owner, is very welcoming and helpful. Christine is my favorite manicurist, although all of the staff have meet or exceeded my expectations. I always get the Shellac manicure, which has a little down time (soaking, light sealing)--that means more neck massages, which is OK by me! Have had one pedicure there, it was very nice, although I'm not crazy about the callous shaver that they used. Had eyebrow and lip waxing there too, well done. They have a member card that provides some benefits after 10 visits...I'm up to visit 8 (I don't remember what the benefit is...) Keep up the good work. read more

They are all about the up sell here. My husband and I went right before my due date and from the beginning they strongly recommended we do the spa gel pedicure knowing we also schedule a manicure. We weren't offered a menu and they just motioned to the spa description posted on the wall. Feeling like treating ourselves we agreed. What proceeded was a gel like substance filling the tub and turning it into a jello like consistency. It wasn't relaxing or beneficial in the least bit. After our pedicure I opted for a basic manicure. Basically just a file and paint. My husband was seated way across the room from me despite open tables on either side of where I was sitting. He was up sold a "buffing" manicure. When it came time to pay we discovered we could have saved money on a pedicure & mancure combo which was never offered to us and no longer applies because of the "gel" that was added to our pedicures. I may look for another place before returning back here. At least next time I will know to stick to the basics. read more

I have been going to Sun Nails exclusively for the past 15+ years and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Jenny, the owner, takes tremendous pride in her salon (rightfully so). She sets high standards and constantly monitors her staff to be certain those standards are maintained. The employees are always up on the latest nail techniques and the quality of their work is superb. This salon is immaculate. No employee sits around with nothing to do -- someone is always cleaning something (the hundreds of bottles of nail polish get dusted twice a day!!). Jenny and her staff are very pleasant and courteous and go out of their way to make you comfortable. Sun Nails is a peaceful, quiet and sparkling salon and it is my pleasure to go there every two weeks for some relaxation and pampering! Great place to get pink and white gel! I don't often treat myself or have time to maintain "pretty nails" but Sun makes it easy. They do a great job and they last. Everyone I had/spoken with is pleasant and talented, and quick(which I like)! Jenny, (the owner I think) remembers your name from day one, which is amazing considering the place is always packed with people. Its much larger on the inside than it appears on the outside. Very rude. Called in asking for a specific kind of style they said come in and they didn't have it. Forewarning: they make you pay up front and like cash. The lady who did my nails talked down to me and tried to sell other things really hard. They were very rude and it was my first time coming there and I'm never coming back. The star is only because they do a nice job, but I seriously hate this place and I'd give it NO stars if I could. It's 2 minutes from my house and id rather drive to another town to get my nails done. These people ask you over and over and over to upgrade to this, add that, blah blah blah. I can't stand it! It's non-stop the entire time you're there! If I wanted additional services I would just ask for them! When they figure out I can't be up-sold they give me an attitude for the rest of my visit. I've tried this place about 3 times, only as a last resort and each time it gets worse. Like I said, my nails came out great each time but the employees and the manager Jenny there are all it takes to keep me away. How many times must I say no? i feel like I just walked out of a used car dealership. Booked a wedding party for $10 manicures: They talked individual party members into "add ons" without checking with me -- the one paying the bill. One example, my sister's $35 manicure and pedicure came to $95. The nails did look nice, but the total cost was at least 3 times what I had planned to pay when I made my appointment and specified exactly what I was going to pay for.
