This is literally the best vegan spot in Memphis. I have invited lots of my family and friends, and they all have mentioned that they cannot tell that the food did not derive from an animal. I originally started my vegan journey in Atlanta. Moving back home, I didn't think that I would find any food that will be comparable to what I had. Well, I was wrong. Son of a vegan showed out in many ways! Customer: 20/10 Ayesha, the owner, has always been extremely nice. She's always taken the time to explain any item that I ask about. She speaks when we arrive and always makes sure to ask about our experience. You can tell that this is more than just a business to her. It is a passion. Taste: 20/10 As I mentioned before, this place is second to none. Everything that I have tried has been great: the barbecue nachos, barbecue vicken, bacon, quesadilla, patty melt, chopped cheese, Philly, seasoned fries, desserts, and everything in between. The most loved item is the lasagna!!! It is so good that you will feel as if you're in an Italian restaurant while eating it. Cost: 10/10 The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are great also. Parking: 10/10 It is located inside of the mall. So, there's lots of parking. Creativity: 10/10 At one point, the owner offered a cooking class. My family, friends, and I attended. We loved it one of the takeaways that we still use today is being intentional with visiting our local farmer's market. That is something that I had never done until that point. She also challenged us to stop hoarding food by cleaning out our cabinets. Let's just say there were cans that were extremely dated in the pantry. I have no clue why I was keeping cans that long, but I did. Some of them were old enough to be in preschool lol. Anywho, I'm grateful for her suggestion! They also have games that you could play while waiting for your food. My cousin and I love the game Trouble. So we would often play a round or two before eating on your "Cousin Dates". Being that I'm an extreme yelper, I cannot believe that I have not reviewed this amazing business until now. Honestly, it deserved a five star or HIGHER every time I've visited over the past two years. SOV has even encouraged some of my family members to try a vegan lifestyle. Though I am not vegan any longer, I still made an effort to visit this location because it's just that good. It's sad to hear that they are closing because it is a staple in the Memphis community. This is inside the Hickory Ridge Mall. You go inside and head toward the food court. It's not the easiest to find and it is kind of pricey. And it was delicious. I got the taco trio and got a different protein with each taco. All the heat "beef", no heat "beef", and chipotle "chicken" I would absolutely eat here again. None of us are vegan or even vegetarian. I tried the small quesadilla with a side of sour cream. Get a fork because things can get a little messy! It comes with salsa, which I usually skip, but this time it was a great addition. While I wasn't a fan of the sour cream, the quesadilla itself was packed with plant-based meat that mimicked ground beef and had plenty of cheese. It could have used more spinach, but there was some in there. It was freshly made to order. I might return to try the lasagna, but while many might enjoy the quesadilla, it wasn't quite my thing. For starters it's located in the food court inside the Hickory Ridge mall. It takes a little time for them to make your order because they make everything as you order it instead of being made earlier and then just sitting around. The food here was very very good!! The girl working the cash register was very knowledgeable of the menu and the ingredients etc. For drinks we got the strawberry pineapple tea which was very good and very strawberry-ey. The French fries are very nicely seasoned, yes there's a little salt in them but not a lot and by no means too much. I got my oyster (mushroom) po boy buffalo style, it was a very good buffalo sauce. They also have a nice selection of hot sauces up at the counter too. I wanted a milkshake but didn't get one and then regretted my choice when I saw one someone else got - it looked amazing. Found them on Happy Cow and it was a hidden gem in the mall. I got the Comeback Combo and a Cake Shake, and everything from start to finish was incredible. The staff were warm and welcoming; it honestly felt like I was being fed by a friend who just happens to be an amazing cook. The food was so good! The fried oyster mushrooms were the bomb. Perfectly crunchy and paired so well with the sauces. The tea was also surprisingly great, refreshing without being too sweet- I think I overheard them saying they used agave. The whole meal felt thoughtful and homemade in the best way. The vibe in the spot is chill and fun. They had a TV playing movies and there were board games stacked on the side for anyone hanging out. Come with a friend and post up for a bit, play games while you wait for good food. My biggest complaints are my food should be ready at the allotted time. I shouldn't have to wait ten to fifteen minutes afterwards. The customer service in regards to me has been subpar. I watched the owner be very friendly to others comp them drink and keep me waiting an extra fifteen minutes for my order. Then barely acknowledge me and say sorry for the wait but do it again the next time. I literally stood at the counter waiting while the owner and a male worker play with their phones on a tripod and never acknowledge my presence. I'm done it's shame all these black vegan restaurants give horrible customer service. read more

The food is hot and fresh. I love that this family owned establishment are people friendly. I've been riding with this establishment since the popup days. I enjoy coming for the lasagna and philly tonight I tried the all the heat let's just say with this Memphis heat it was lit! I also like when you wait you can play to win a sweet treat! The food is great, but probably not the healthiest. Some of the fried items seemed overseasoned/salted to me. Sometimes orders can take a while but I think it's because they make everything on demand. My favorite is the fajita burger. It's spicy and flavorful. My mom likes the tacos and she is hard to please. The owner is often on site. She is very kind and attentive. She went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. Believe the HYPE! The storefront was really cute and colorful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As you wait they offered a variety of board/card games you could play to pass the time. Everything is cooked to order and fresh. I got the trio tacos (all the heat, smoky chipotle vicken, and just the veg) all three we good and loaded but watch out for the all the heat that spice catch you at the end. With that being said that was my favorite. We also ordered the fajita burger and it BLEW MY MIND. The fried pickles with the chipotle crema was AMAZING AS WELL! It was my brother's first time eating vegan and he couldn't believe how good and flavorful it was. He couldn't tell it wasn't meat. Oh yeah and get the lemonade. We tried to go here for dinner. I had no idea this place is in the food court of a mall. Still, we walked back there around 730 last Friday night, past a bunch of closed stores. When we approached the counter, no one was there. Instead, they were all behind the line. A mother and daughter team, it seems. Finally we were acknowledged, then a young woman came out & was preoccupied with take out orders. A man came up to get his door dash order, and was told it would be yet another 20 minutes for Chicken Nachos. We had been standing at the counter for over five minutes. The Oyster Po-Boy had a fresh roll for the bread and the oyster mushrooms were fried and seasoned to perfection. The Chocolake cake vegan milkshake was mind blowing (and they added peanut butter).Definitely try the platter, crispy fried pickles, onion rings and fried "oyster" mushrooms that reminded me of oysters with more flavor. The Crinkle fries were seasoned well (without using black pepper).The Staff were all helpful and flavor insistent on what worked well together and what not to remove, (like my one co worker who wanted to ditch the vegan cheese on his vegan burger and they said no and were right to his surprise)!
