So here we go The humans booked us right outside of Austin, Tx at the Sun Outdoors Lake Travis RV park and we have to say we give this place 's from a dog perspective one of the things we loved the most were the 3 dog parks, so space for all of us regardless of personalities. Each dog park has a few big trees for shade, picnic bench for the humans to sit & bags and trash close by. While there are no jungle gyms for us to play on, we are ok with that as that gives us more room to run off the crazies. Also no water bowls @ 2 of the parks, but the largest did have a water bowl along with a doggie wash station The park had nice wide roads throughout so the humans can walk us and if there are any other dogs, each can pick a side of the road if needed! Also a nice off road walking path. RV site - nice and enough room between RVs so you don't feel on top of your neighbor. Usually a tree or two per site, picnic table, and grass at our site. Only downside, no fire pit but it was warm out so we didn't really miss it. Humans are happy tho, 50amp service, great water pressure, and sewer available at each site AND daily trash pick up RV park - nice wide roads, no low overhanging branches, gravel site but level enough and enough room for a 42' trailer + truck Took about 20-40 mins to get to downtown Austin depending on traffic. Pool and jacuzzi for the humans, along with a airstream cafe at the pool! also a gym and a clubhouse, again for humans We would definitely stay here again, everyone was nice and the park was kept in great condition #bringfido read more

Stayed at a cozy cute cabin over the weekend. It wasn't by first choice but turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It was like having a mini suite. There is plenary of room inside. The place can sleep about 8-9 comfortably. It comes with a fully equipped kitchen. There is a pool onsite and a comfort cabin with additional showers. Overall I really enjoyed my stay here. It's super close to the lake. Really quite and peaceful. Makes for an awesome getaway. read more

This place is in a great spot. The dog parks are the best I've had in any RV park in Texas. The pool in summer is great and the heated pool gets hot! How many places can you say the pool is hot in December and July in Texas? My only gripe is the pull their pads aren't that level, both times I've stayed I had to use boards to level left to right in my 5th wheel. Not the end of the world but it cost a star here. The amenities are fantastic, laundry is cheap and easy with an app. The pool and evening movie by the pool was awesome. Their are nice walks in the park for dogs. It's one of my favorites in Texas I'll stay here a lot more and I'll be happy each time. It's in a scenic spot and really conveniently placed. read more

I have stayed in two separate cottages here, and I can say without hesitation that the facilities are well-maintained and comfortable. The privacy afforded with a cottage certainly beats a hotel, not to mention you get a fully stocked kitchen with everything you need (minus food) to make meals. I had plenty of hot water, good climate control, and a very, very comfortable sleep in both of the cottages. Everything was sparkling clean, and the linens and towels were fresh and high-quality. In addition, the staff is absolutely wonderful and kind. I never met anyone rude, but rather I marveled at how happy and upbeat everyone seemed, always willing to help. The manager, Norma, especially goes above and beyond in her duties. The RV sites are clean and well-maintained. Even though there are some permanent residents, nowhere in the park looks trashy. If anything, their flags and planters improve the overall appearance. People take pride in their park, and it shows. The amenities (two pools, fitness center, two laundries) are well-maintained and clean. There are a lot of social activities for long-term residents, as well as short-timers. While I was there, they had a breakfast, a social hour with doughnuts and coffee, and a karaoke night with snacks. They also do special holiday events, like corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick's Day. There is a strong spirit of community here, and everyone embraces newcomers as well as their old friends. I will not hesitate to stay here any time I am in Austin. It is a bit far from downtown, but it's so peaceful and charming, not to mention just minutes from Lake Travis! read more

I stayed at Sun Outdoors Lake Travis about a year ago. I like the property other than the dog area was actually a leech field for their septic system. Suspect water was bubbling up from the ground in at least 3 areas. The staff was cut short by Sun Outdoors. I don't trust a company that puts their guests and their pets at risk. read more

Pool is fantastic! The sites are level, large, and have grassy areas with your own picnic bench. The pools are saline so your skin doesn't dry out and get irritated like with chlorine. Although this a very large resort, it doesn't feel like it, and everyone here is very friendly! read more

Reservations and desk clerk were pleasant and efficient. RV sites are large, clean, level, and well-maintained with nice lawn areas. Plenty of parking for two vehicles. Utilities on a convenient pylon. Daily trash pick up at the curb. Spa heater was out of service our entire stay. System requires perfect compliance by guests to turn spa off when leaving, otherwise equipment burns out - a recipe for failure. Pool water was also murky, with an oily ring around the rim. The resort advertises a one-acre dog area with dog wash, but it is permanently chained shut "because of the leach field"(?), leaving only a tiny 50 foot triangle and a 70-foot square elsewhere in the park. Every public door in the park, including the restrooms, was posted with a 30.06/30.07 sign, which I consider an offensive practice, and reason enough not to return. This park charges resort prices, but I don't feel it offers matching resort amenities. read more

We ended up spending 16 days at La Hacienda RV Resort. Originally, we were going to stay for a week but we fell in love with Austin and the RV park was one of the best ones we have stayed at. Check-in was simple and ever interaction we had with the office was pleasant. They were always quick to help and very friendly. We had a number of packages, letters arrive, and they went as far as to call me to know they had arrived. That is service. This RV park had water, sewer, and electric hookups and cable TV. The only negative part of our stay was the unusable WiFi; but at this point of our journey, we never expect WiFi to work. The laundry facility was large, had newer machines and the wash price was a little more expensive than other campgrounds we have stayed at. The space between the RVs was generous and the length of the spaces facilitated a more quiet stay. Would I recommend this park? Absolutely. Would we come back? Absolutely. My family and I loved staying for the weekend in the one bedroom plus loft! It was super clean and had everything you need just have to buy food, bring your clothes and hygiene items and your set! The pool was clean and big and my boys enjoyed the playground. The RV Park was well taken care of and the people were very friendly. The only thing I would recommend would be to stop at the grocery store before you arrive because it's a 10 min drive which isn't bad but there is quite a bit of traffic. We will definitely be back because we enjoyed it so much! read more

We have been going to La Hacienda for many years, and have been very happy until now. The corporation has decided to change a lot of the rules, and have increased the rate schedule over 30% above last years rates. They are also moving people out of their usual sites and forcing them into even more expensive ones. Many of our friends have already gone to new parks and we probably will be doing the same after this year. I feel that Sun Resorts has made a huge mistake, but they probably have a large waiting list of people who will pay more. read more

Out of the ten RV parks that my husband and I stayed at on our trip, this was by far the most impressive one. Our spot was located right by the pool and my husband and I enjoyed it daily during our 3 night stay. The staff was very kind and organized, and there was daily maintenance of the grounds. Everything was so clean and welcoming with all the trees. We had a special experience thanks to a very helpful and kind gentleman, named Michael, who was so eager to assist us in any way possible. This is a great place to stay for a week or a lifetime. The staff is great and they have security that drives around at night checking on things called RV Rangers. The people who stay here are friendly and love the RV lifestyle. Problems (few) are handled quickly by Ms. Norma the Manager. The grounds are kept neat and clean. The bonus is an adult only pool. This a a beautiful RV park and the best dog park I've had. But the hot tub and hot pool at night.... If I didnt bruise my body a hundred times in the dark ( apparently sensor lights) MIND YOUR STEP big time. Creepy and it's not Halloween YET. Also no internet the duration of our stay and they last night we were offered the paying option. I would have willingly paid an extra $7 a day for decent Web Services. If you are thinking about staying here, I recommend you do so, despite my low star rating. Clean and well-manicured grounds, great pool area, cute and clean albeit small accommodations. I don't expect you will be disappointed with the grounds or amenities. Just don't go into the office or ask staff for anything, and you'll be fine. I asked the lady behind the desk in the office for a set of clean sheets and she replied in 3 ways, none of which included a yes or a no. She told me we had too many people, which was not true and I volunteered to prove that to her. We even paid for the allowable extras and I told her to come by any time to make sure we didn't have additional guests. Nothing to hide, and if we were hiding something, I would have steered clear of the office at all costs. Next, she pointed out that we had only been there one night, which is true and beside the point. I personally slept in a bed Fri night that our Sat night guests planned to sleep in and I wanted to refresh the sheets myself. Lastly, she said they don't "change sheets" there, which I pointed out was fine with me and reminded her that all I asked for was a clean set. I'd put them on myself and promised to bring her back the other set, but this pressed her reset button and she started in on me again citing the same 3 aforementioned reasons. I felt as though I had been personally singled out and my problem had been ignored entirely. Customers may not always be right, but they do always come first. The unnecessary disrespect and outrageously rude attitude was appalling. I won't be returning for another buzz kill like that but I also won't tell you not to go. Not getting clean sheets - fine. But being talked to the way she did was unacceptable for me. read more

If you are over 60, have a dog that barks at will, party like a teenager, have no respect for other residents, talk loudly, and are rude to your neighbors, this is the park for you. It is basically a retirement home. There are retirees that come back to this park year after year and evidently think of the park as theirs. "Rules (and other RV'ers) be damned, we're going to do as we please" is their motto. We asked some of our neighbors to please keep their dogs quiet and that caused us no end of grief. What gave us the right? they seem to think. The rules of the park gave us the right and the fact that we wanted some peace and quiet. We have dogs too and have taken the time to train them not to bark. It is just a common courtesy particularly in a RV park. Not here, barking all day, for 30 minutes at a stretch, is common place. There is the occasional family with children and they are way more behaved than these retirees. Personally I've never been in a park this disruptive and noisy. We had planned a long stay but after a few months, we couldn't take it and had to move on. That would be my advice to you...move on! read more

After a long day tubing ,swimming and walking the streets of Austin, I like to sit back in my RV and watch the national news in the evening. I pick out RV resorts that have cable tv. This resort has listed everything an RV'er needs. First night no cable tv. I go down to the idiot room and the people that charge 50% higher than most rv resorts tells me that you have to have a cable box to receive cable and they don't have any . Cable late in the evening is very important to me and these people aren't even phased to tell me to piss in one hand and shit in another. We Texans don't lie like this. I am very comfortable that these people think nothing of lying to customers with a smile. This place is 80 dollars a night. The resort is nice. Do I recommend staying here. NO. They are thieves to take your money with a smile and not provide the services that are on their website. read more

It's still one of the better places to stay, however, do note that the customer service is highly variable and can be down right rude. This is an unfortunate change to my previous view on the place. Also be aware that their so called amenities close without notice. They can post stuff about their so called "block parties" but not one peep about pool closures, etc. "Best RV park in town even if its a bit further outside of town. Spaces are large and the grounds are very well kept. Do drive through before picking your spot as there are a few (not many) permanent residents who don't seem to have pride in ownership of their rig and also set their very young children free to roam without a watchful eye. Steer clear of them and you cannot beat beat this park!" read more

My husband, two youngest children and I just came off of a weekend stay at La Hacienda near Lake Travis. As we had just picked up our children from camp, I had two trucks of laundry I needed to get over with. I definitely didn't want Wet clothes and goodness knows what else sitting in two foot lockers for the weekend. So I hit the laundry facility shortly after we arrived and settled in. The machines were new HE and the laundry room had books, games, TV, restrooms and showers. In and out in 1.5 hours and feeling accomplished!! We rented a cabin "Lavaca" which is a smaller one - but they were sold out so we were satisfied with a smaller unit. The only negative I think I experienced all weekend was the smoke detector in the kitchen! That thing and I were at war! If you turned on the oven, the detector would go off every time you opened the over door! That was a little nerve wracking but I'm grateful they exist! We rented a ski boat from Just for fun rentals. A recommendation from La Hacienda. It was easy, and a pleasant transaction! We had a fantastic time! back to the cabins... They were clean, efficient, had all the amenities from home and even and outdoor grill. Beautiful community, great experience! We will be back! read more

Out of all the RV parks I've been to this is one of my favorites. The amenities including the restrooms are super clean. Customer service was great as well, my only complaint is that there was dog poop all over my site. Other then that everything was perfect. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in the area. read more

We stayed at La Hacienda for several years as full timers due to family reasons, as do a lot of full timers. We were there when the original owners sold the park to Sun Management. Once they took over, the park started a slow ride down into a ditch. They raised the rents annually and still do without taking care of critical aspects of staying comfortably. Such as the waste system backs up and smells like(you know what), the water pressure is so low my water heater does not work well, the gravel stalls wash out drastically after a big rain and because management is so tight(cheap) they do not hire enough people, and the ones they do hire are so over worked and under paid, don't last long, don't blame them. We have seen resident managers(corporate) micro manage the park and not provide the service that is expected from Tennant's, short or long term. Don't get me started about the stench in the laundry room. Nasty smell, shower room floor drains dry up and sewer gasses are released, P. U.! We have moved out due to another rate increase and once again nothing being done to the quality of the stay. Good luck with all the fluff and buff the management has put in, like pool tables, proposed bar, both of which are accidents waiting to happen. The only thing this park has going for it is location, but look around, be careful of the surrounding area. The staff, especially Michael and Dana, are great people and deserve more. Without those two, no one would stay there and I would not blame any one. The two cleaning ladies are over worked and severely underpaid got the fine work they do. For anyone that cares for others, stay somewhere else. P S A couple years back, I got a letter stolen when mailed from the office, had a check in it that was cashed and non traceable by my bank, we ended and still use off site mail service. An awesome RV park to stay overnight or for an extended stay. They have ample space between RV sites and tons of amenities like pool, laundry/game room, showers/bathrooms, and doggie park. The park is well-maintained and clean. The staff are helpful and friendly. They even sell propane! The only reason I gave the park 4 stars instead of 5? Even with all the amenities, the price is a little steep. And even though the RV park is super nice and well spaced, the RV sites are not paved which makes for added time leveling the RV. The added convenience of selling propane on the property was inconveniently priced. I wanted to fill a half full propane tank before leaving but they were going to charge for a full tank anyway. Otherwise, this RV park is a great choice. read more

Beautiful, mostly quiet park....during summer months can get a little too many kids. We have an adult pool area with a hot tub and a huge family pool for those with kids. For some reason many parents don't understand why us kidless adults do not want their kids in our area... Very well kept. Have lived here going on 4 years and still love it!!! read more

It's a great RV resort and destination. I do not use this terminology lightly. It's very popular, as we would not have been able to book here for the time period except for a cancellation. La Hacienda has a large number of RVers using the resort's recreational facilities. Most of the RV resorts we visit are places the guests use for sleeping. This is one of the few where the guests had numerous kids playing in the resort facilities for children. It's a large facility, probably the largest except for Fishing Bridge. I walked the campground twice, once on each day. All the RV spaces were filled. The park appears well maintained. I had a chance to speak with one of the maintenance personnel. He mentioned there were a lot of older people, a lot of prior military persons who spent long periods at the park. It made for a great experience for him, as he was able to pick up on their knowledge. All in all, a tremendous experience.Book early. The single lowlight was a smell of sewage that appears to emanate from outside the park. read more

I guess I just don't get it. Stayed here and from the reviews was excited to come. Crowded and stuffed in here. Asked to be moved to another site as the first one we could barely fit into. All night people yelling etc. Our second site is extremely mediocre and for $72 I truly expected more. I would also for sure have the permanent sites cleaned up a bit. Nice RV park up by Lake Travis (Puddle Travis, these days). My dad had his RV there and it was a fairly good setup, though more trees would be nice. Dad's spot was right by what was probably supposed to be a large pond (possibly runoff mitigation pond) but was little more than a puddle, though a couple of ducks were camped out there and they seemed happy. The spot my dad was in was kinda cramped, I guess, but very nice and neat. The whole place is relatively upscale. The pool is very nice, and they have separate family and "adult" pools. Most people at the pool were drinking alcohol of some sort or other, so if that bothers you, at least you were warned. People were behaving nicely though. There are also several "cabins" that look like brightly colored cabooses. We stayed in one (me, wife and two kids). There was plenty of room and they were comfortable. Plus very neat and clean. Adirondack chairs on the porch and picnic tables. Nice. Overall a nice place to spend a couple of days up near the lake. No real lake views from here, but it'd probably cost a lot more if there were. They also have recycling bins, which is nice. It's also close enough to several restaurants, convenience stores, drive through liquor barn, etc. so that you can pick up anything you forgot easily. read more

A fantastic experience! Everyone, and I mean everyone, makes you feel welcome and appreciated here at La Hacienda RV Resort. That explains why it is so fantastic when you can book a long term stay here. We've been here a few months, and absolutely NO complaints. Every experience is superb. There are RV Parks, and then there is La Hacienda which is in a league of its own. My wife and I love La Hacienda RV Resort. It is the nicest RV Resort in all of Austin. It's right on Lake Travis in the middle of Hudson Bend. 1 mile from the Dam. If you looking for a place to park your Rig, don't even waste your time looking at others out there, I wasted my time for you. Don't stop at and stop lights, just take the most direct route and get there. Great staff, Clean with workout room, Laundry, Adult Pool and separate Kids pool for those of us who are done with the kids thing. read more

Great potential, but not managed well. The reservation process needs to be brought up to the standards of 2020. They don't have a reliable online reservation process and the people in the office apparently don't communicate, so do t be surprised if your reservation gets given to someone else or your asked to leave when you were previously told you could extend your stay a couple days prior. We had seen the reviews and needed some place close to go for a weekend. While I agree the laundry rooms and bathrooms were clean we do not believe this to be a 5 star resort not for 70.00 a night. No concrete pads the landscape was not up to par the spot we had was in the back and so close to the next person you could also share tv. The internet was not even registering on the devices. The heated pool is small and although it says adults there were kids in the pool and hot tub. Long story short this is not a place we will back to. read more

Never stay here!!! You don't want to have to deal with these people! I was planning on giving this "resort" a decent review. I stayed in their cabins for a month without incidence and was planning on giving it three stars, maybe four if I was feeling generous. Sure it was overpriced, but I liked the area. The management was standoffish but never outright rude. I stayed here for a month, with my dog, and was an ideal tenant. I was quiet. I paid everything on time. My dog never barked or disturbed anyone. I stayed in one of the cabins for a month and everything was okay. They would have earned a solid, maybe even inflated, review. However (BIG however), I would now without a doubt tell everyone to stay away from this place and the dishonest management that owns it. Upon moving out, I was told I would receive my rather large deposit within the next few days. I kept an eye out for it and soon saw that they returned some of it but kept $250. I called the front desk, thinking it was surely a mistake. When I called I was informed that they kept the $250 for a "cleaning fee". When questioned further, the manager stated that it "smelled like urine" in the cabin I stayed in. This is a complete lie. My dog is well potty trained and has been for the last five years of her life. She never had an accident in that cabin. Ever. Period. Upon probing further the manager stated that the sheets had urine on them, which is when I realized they were just outright lying to me. Unless housekeeping and that ridiculous manager peed on the sheets themselves, there was NO urine on them. I'm just so upset because I've been lied to, just so they could keep some deposit money. I will be telling everyone I know never to deal with these crooks. Maybe you could risk it for an RV spot but be wary of that and I would advise you to deal and interact with these people as little as possible. read more

I looked everywhere in the Austin area for an RV park for a long term stay as I was in town for business. I was both amazed and disheartened at what I found as I looked. I called La Hacienda and went for a visit and WOW, I found exactly what I was looking for. This is a very nice place in a very desirable area, about 20 minutes from downtown. The staff was very friendly, and the grounds are kept immaculate, there are workers on mowers and golf carts buzzing the place making sure that everything is well kept. Additionally there is a very nice dog park if you have that need, it even has a little shed with 2 bathing stations for you to freshen Fido up if you feel the need. 2 swimming pools, a hot tub, an actual NICE work out room for those so inclined (not me) and the laundry room are all first class. Outside of the laundry room there are Ping Pong tables and an air hockey table , I was surprised at how much those were used by kids. Oh and a basketball court outside as well. Anyway. If your looking for an RV park in Austin and they have room TRUST ME this is your number one spot, you will be glad you found it. One last thing, DONT miss the Mexican food place Los Pinos up the street, fantastic...... Get the Mexican Martini.....your welcome!!! read more

Always a fantastic place to stay. Friendly staff and nice clean pool. Beautiful grounds and large dog park that includes poop-baggies. Showers and bathrooms pristine at all times.
