Have had repairs done through them in the past and have always been satisfied. This was the first…read moretime The Pros: I was able to get an appointment for a repair within 1/2 days (chip occurred on a Sunday during which they were closed, got an appt for tuesday). I did opt in this time to drive my vehicle to them instead of using their mobile service as appointments for that were further out. When I arrived, I was early yet they served me immediately, coming out and evaluating. They gave me the typical quick spiel about how they will try their best to repair (it was a sizable chip and crack so very fair), it will potentially still be visible, there is a chance it may crack, all that. I did appreciate that they did not push that they will have to replace or anything, just said they'll try their best and we can go from there, which in my opinion was incredibly fair. The staff was kind and efficient, and the interior waiting area was nice with coffee and water though it was not needed as they were done quite quickly. Pricing was also very transparent, what I saw when I signed up was what I was charged. The Cons: This is the part I am a tad conflicted about. I understand my chip was large, and I understand it was likely to show after. However, I feel as if the repair was not done with much care or finesse, which may be just due to an individual tech, and at the end of the day it is fixed, functional, and supposedly has a warranty in case it cracks I can take it back. But the surface is rough, I am not certain what the process is but I feel as if they didn't polish or scrape properly before letting it fully cure. And then there is also a divot in there. I asked the staff member about these when he handed my keys back and he just said something about how one of the tools sometimes moves when it is curing which makes sense. It made sense and I was able to understand in the moment as I have watched them do it during teh mobile service and seen the tool I think likely was set too low or something, and then also seen that they usually use something like a razor to scrape it smooth before it sets 100%. This just left a very slight sour taste, nothing against the staff, they were all kind, just feel that in the past the techs that came out took more care and perhaps these ones did not. I may be wrong though, and it may just be all that was possible due to the size of the crack.

My driver's side window was smashed in requiring a complete replacement. My insurance for some…read morereason likes safelite, I assume they get the lowest price from them. I wasn't going to hit my deductible so I opted to pay out of pocket rather than file a claim. I still went with safelite since that's who insurance recommended. I now regret the decision and I'm looking for a new provider (for the window and possibly insurance). First, it's been a week and a half since the incident and today was the earliest appointment available. Earlier this week safelite called me saying there were earlier appointments available if I'd like one. I jumped at the opportunity only to be told they were mistaken. No earlier appointments were available. Annoying, but not the end of the world. After that, I was contacted multiple times to confirm my appointment, which I did. Today, two hours before my appointment window, I receive a call saying the glass had not yet arrived from the dealership and we may need to reschedule. I informed them this was a huge problem because I have to drive 8-9 hours tomorrow through a snowstorm, either doing so without a window or having to rent a car, adding additional cost. They then called back with less than two hours left in the appointment window to let me know not only did they not have the glass, but the dealership parts department wasn't even open today (it's a Saturday). How they didn't account for that when scheduling, I don't know. It's not like replacing and repairing windows IS THEIR ENTIRE BUSINESS!!! I called the safelite business office to voice my frustration. They offered no solutions, no apologies, nothing. They very clearly do not care about customer satisfaction. Needless to say they lost my business. So my recommendation to you is save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere.

Had a Honda Pilot windshield replaced. Got lucky in that the tech was very experienced. Excellent…read morejob, very clean job. Completed today. What I liked was they used good brand of glass. They told me they would use Pilkington glass which is the brand to get for Honda and Toyota as this brand also supplies Honda for building the Honda's. The Honda had one of those auto darkening/built in compass rear view mirrors and that was fitted back perfectly. My previous experience with windshield replacement on our second Honda pilot did not go so well. This was by another windshield repair shop in Durham. The paint was knocked off the top above glass and then it started leaking several months later. I was recommended to this OTHER (Durham) windshield shop by Crown point Honda (dealership) and I will never go back there. I suspect the Honda dealership was probably getting kick backs for referrals. I called the top yelp recommended windshield replacement shop in North Raleigh and they said they would use Pilkington or PGW, "there choice". PGW is a joint company owned by an investment house, and online searches did not identify them as a top notch windshield manufacturer. Pilkington supply Honda that means they have tooling to bevel edge of windshields correctly and built to Honda standards. So "my choice" was to go to Carolina Windshield Centers where I knew specifically what I was getting. Two Tips: 1) avoid car dealer recommendations and check out yelp. 2) see what glass brand they are using. Pilkington goes into new Honda's and Toyota's. Carlite windshields goes into Fords. Safelite goes into NO new vehicles ... for a reason.

I chose this place because in a previous Yelp review the car owner said his tint was within the regulation and Shade Custom Tint told him to take his car to another inspection place. So just in case the inspection place I went to was blowing smoke I figured I'd go here because they're obviously honest. The cost for the tint removal was about $40 less than other places I called. They were fast and communicative so I'd highly recommend this company. They have an after hours key drop off which I appreciated too.

My brand new car windshield was damaged in the application process. The mark has not been removed after a second opinion and 2 attempts to buff out. The owner was apologetic, partly took responsibility and fulfilled my request for the windshield to be refunded. The film application process was quicker and caused more mess then I expected. I also do believe the benefits out way the possibility that this is the "first time this has ever happened."
