Shane at Jacobs Glass saved the day! My parents were visiting from out of town and were the unfortunate victims of an overnight "smash and grab" at a local hotel. They woke up on a Friday morning to find the passenger window of their truck had been smashed in. My windshield got hit by a rock on the highway and unfortunately it hit right at the bottom of it so it caused a crack that was quickly spreading across it. I really wanted to work with a local company rather than one of the chains that come to you to do the repair. On a previous occasion I'd gotten a bulls eye on another car fixed by Bulls Eye Windshield repair and since this crack was beyond their repair capacity they recommended Jacobs. From start to finish I had a great experience with Matt at Jacobs who answered all my questions when I phoned even before visiting. After claiming it on my insurance (a low deductible on Comp really pays off!) I scheduled my appointment with Matt. Their location is easy to find on Hillsborough Road off Hwy 751. It's clean and kept really neat and tidy. Enter at the second driveway on the other side of the building if coming there off 751. It's paved, unlike the gravel lot at the first driveway. I recently had a rock chip my windshield not a big chip I may add it wasn't as big as a dime somewhat smaller and my insurance company was covering it. The first choice was Safelite Autoglass but they couldn't get me for at least 2 weeks so they referred Jacob's Glass because they were the next best thing according to the internet. I was so disappointed at the work they done. I just knew that since I was driving a BMW the work would be outstanding now I'm not saying that BMW is better than any other car but come on here I would make sure I did the best job. I was expecting great works here. They were friendly and polite kinda, but there's a little question in the back of my mind did they give me piss poor service because I'm black and especially since the Alabama incident they decided to give me poor quality of work. Then he explained this stuff doesn't really work and it may or may or may not work but it did take the sealant he said but there's no guarantee it won't spread. I was like Wow. So as I got in the car to look see as we were driving I was so not impressed. So I decided to call and the guy said well Safelite make you sign a stack of paperwork for their work because I explained to him they could have done a better job and that my husband had 2 cracks filled by Safelite and you can't even see the 2 cracks that were filled that's when he the guy on the phone explaining to me that it all depends how it wants to seal itself. Although my insurance covered it. It was just plain ole sloppiness and not caring. I knew when it was completed within 10 minutes or less It was not going to be worth a damn. So that's my 2 cents on Jacob's Glass. Maybe white people get better service than others but I can't see them giving black people good quality of work. Was directed to Jacob's by Triangle Auto Body. The drivers side window in my 2005 Hyundai Elantra had come off the track and would not go up or down. I brought it in, they removed the panel on my door and quickly diagnosed the problem. The two clamps that hold the window in place at it's base had come off. They fixed it and I was on my way in under an hour from start to finish for $75. Everyone was courteous, friendly and professional. Can't recommend highly enough! read more

This company charges extra for working on a Friday. I get it if its "after hours" or even if its Saturday or Sunday but just because its Friday. I just want people to be aware prior to getting estimates. read more

So much to be said about the customer service and care you receive at Jacob's Glass. I had my car broken in to late at night and they were able to replace my window by lunch time the following day! Not only were they sympathetic about the break in but their customer service was outstanding! They notified me when they expected the part to arrive and when the car was ready to be picked up. I could tell they were doing everything in their power to get my car back to me as soon as possible. They worked great with my insurance and my car was returned in excellent condition. On several occasions I have used Jacobs Glass. They have always been efficient and reasonably priced. My most recent experience was for replacing my windshield. I was pleased that it didn't cost any more than it did. I had made an appointment and they had me in and out quickly while I waited. It looked just like a factory install. We have now used Jacobs Glass for three different types of orders: windshield replacement; an order for 5 different-sized pieces of glass and mirrors; and a very unusual special order that involved sanding three/eighths of a inch of glass off the end of a large piece of curved glass. We are very satisfied with all of the orders, especially the last one. It was a delicate operation and took nearly a half-hour of careful work to do. We were properly warned of the possible risks of breakage, but we needed the piece so we went ahead. We were phoned a short time later that the piece was ready! And the job was quite reasonably priced. A quite professional operation all in all. read more
