I have purchased a hot tub from Sunray Spas 17 years ago and we are very pleased with it. They were excellent in helping with any questions or repairs we required. As we live 3 hrs from their location, and my husband being handy in doing repairs, they had no hesitation in providing the parts and instructions on how to fix our problems which were very few. Looking forward to enjoying it for many many more years. Of course proper upkeep and maintenance on the owners part is essential to keeping it running smoothly. Just one star for the overall experience ordering a hot tub cover from Sunray, I would give 3 stars (for now) for the final product, after it was redone. The initial cover was sewn horribly, it had creases all over the corners and in the middle of the cover, also, the styrofoam used was cut too small and the two sides of the cover were not equal. They refuse to give you the exact specs for the foam, the owner told me it was a trade mark secret?!?, even when I insisted and told him that's not possible since he is not the manufacturer of the foam. If you search for different manufactures for covers, you'll see the price differs when you choose the foam, and the fact the owner didn't want to disclose this information, except the never-ending praise "our covers are the best", makes one regret not reading the reviews before ordering. I should add the hot tub we own was bought from Sunray many years ago, all our supplies were bought from them, this is how they treat their loyal customers. My husband and I ordered the cover in October 2023, we also bought the solar blanket, which we wanted to return the next day because it wasn't one piece, it was two, sewn together, what kind of an expert sews something that goes onto the water? He told us that we can use RV silicone to glue the two pieces and it will be fine, but guess what, silicone didn't take to that plastic. Do you think the owner offered to reimburse us? No way, he just likes to talk a lot. In December, when the order should have been ready, I called the company and spoke with the salesperson and he told me it's going to be delayed for a couple of weeks because they have the fabric but they don't have the foam. I called again in January, they said they have the foam but they don't have the fabric. That's the way they lie, they don't even have the decency to keep up with their lies. Turns out, they just didn't bother to order the fabric, they only stopped blaming the supplier after I sent an email to that supplier in which I told them how the lies spread by Sunray might damage their reputation. By the end of January I went to the store with a friend of mine that was in the same situation, the order was made a few weeks before ours. We insisted the owner gave us the money back but he refused, he showed us the small print on the invoice "no backsies". In the end, my friend got the money back by contacting the bank, even after a few months you can dispute a visa claim. We got the horribly sewn cover by the end of March, it felt like we paid for a Mercedes that was advertised as a Ferrari and received a Pony. We took it back and expressed our disappointment once again. It took them a month to fix the cover, which is still not perfect, one corner has small creases and another corner has the seam off the edge of the foam. Also, the salesperson told me that if I want something perfect, I should do it myself, well, for $800 and do it yourself, that says a lot about "our covers are the best on the market", with sass on top. For this cover we've waited for 6 months, I've called them at least 10 times, I went to the store 10 times, the cost of the cover alone was over $800. There's a recent article about Sunray, you should give it a read, especially since the owner told me the bad reviews are paid for by his competition, well, I feel bad because nobody's paid me, it's almost like my experience and other people's experience was real, also, all those people suing and winning the lawsuits, how about that lesson in civil law Mr. Innocent Until Proven Guilty, not that condescending now, are we? Terrible service from their salesman who is a fast talking rude person who is providing terrible service and ruining your business reputation Brad Roberts. If we would have read the reviews that we all the same in 2016, 2017, 2020 what we have been given we would have never went back to order a hot tub cover. Brad Roberts explain to your people to take two minutes and be sincere instead of blaming your customers for taking food off the tables of your workers. Then he hung up on me. We have bought 2 of their new hot tubs for different homes and nothing but good to say. Even over the 15 years we only needed service a couple of times and they came out quickly and for a reasonable price they fixed it. It's made in Alberta! What more could you ask for! I have been dealing with Sunray Hot Tubs & Patio for several years I have owned a hot tub for roughly 20 years originally purchased and ripped off from another company - Polar Spas - which claimed bankruptcy and never backed their extended 5 year warranty ( total 10 years ) and I paid an extra 5000 on top of the price of the hot tub for that. Needless to say I've learned how to repair and fix my hot tub myself. The service department at Sunray is the only hot tub place in 20 years that has completely blown me away with their knowledge, professionalism and integrity. I'm absolutely shocked to read some reviews on here, I'm all about customer service and I have never once felt in the several years dealing with them any of the negative comments mentioned. They do not rip people off, nor steal if anything I have saved thousands of dollars because of these guys at Sunray. If one was to only understand the difference between dealer and manufacturer and what the processes are I think knowing is really half the battle. There were many supply issues during the pandemic - example basic FLOUR. I don't know if people watch the news but the landslides in British Columbia shut the coquihalla down for a long time which affected supply for 13 months that's just one of the one supply issue never-mind the pandemic itself. We ordered a new cover for our hot tub in mid October 2016. We were told it would be ready in 2-5 weeks, and our credit card was charged in full. 6 weeks later, we called to find out where the cover was, and were told that there was a problem getting the foam and that the cover would be slightly delayed. This led to MONTHS of being given the runaround - told it would be just another little while, or staff answering didn't know anything about it and nobody who did was in the building. Calls were never returned, just months and months of us calling and getting nowhere. Finally, on March 1, 2017, I lodged a merchant complaint with our credit card company to get our nearly $700 back. A couple of weeks later, we started getting phone calls that our cover was ready to be picked up. My husband called back and spoke to Graham, who agreed that they would deliver the new cover free of charge in return for our inconvenience. We agreed to revoke the merchant dispute once the cover was at our home. We subsequently received more phone messages stating that we should come pick up our cover. When my husband called to schedule the delivery we were promised, again nobody there knew about it, and we were promised a call back from Graham, which of course never happened. Yesterday we received a letter from our credit card company stating that Sun Ray had responded to our dispute by stating that our cover had been ready for pickup since March 23. They also had accused me of having hung up on them when they called to tell me (never happened!) My husband made the decision to go today to pick up the new cover just to get this all over with. In fairness, the cover is as ordered, and seems to be of good quality. It's just a shame it took so much hassle, stress and broken promises to actually receive it. We were previously happy in our relationship with Sun Ray, and had previously had good experiences with their service department, and while purchasing maintenance items. This experience, however, has left a bitter taste in our mouths, and we will be taking our business elsewhere in future. EDIT: After seeing this review, my husband received a call from Graham offering us $200 in store credit, which he accepted. I appreciate their attempt at compensation for our time and trouble, and so I am editing this review to include this. EDIT #2: After I refused to remove this review entirely, we have been informed that the $200 in store credit has been revoked, and we have been "red flagged" in their computer. Apparently this was not an attempt to make up for poor service, it was an attempt to buy a better rating. read more

We are pleased with our tub. However, the sales staff could be more forthcoming with regards to communicating issues concerning after sales.

Ordered a light grey hot lid on November 3 and was told it would be ready in 2-3 weeks. After 3 weeks passed my husband went in and asked for an ETA. They said another two weeks. He went again after the two weeks and told it would be another two weeks. On December 26 I posted a review of Sun Ray on Facebook regarding the lack of customer service since we never received any call or update from Sun Ray. Received a call from Sun Ray on December 26 and told it would be ready in early January. On January 6 I received a Facebook message saying the ordered would be complete the following week. On January 23 my husband inquired again where the lid was and was told he was 15 on the list. I received another Facebook on January 25 saying the lid was ready for pick up. My husband to pick it up and it was the wrong colour. After some discussions, the sales manager Darryl said to take the brown lid and use it until the grey one came in. In a heated discussion with the owner he said the lid could not be used and we could either keep the brown lid with the complimentary bromine tablets or return the brown lid and wait for the grey lid. I stated I wanted to return it all and get my money back. The owner said that wasn't possible. I contacted Visa and they said we could go through them to get our money back if we returned the brown lid. I attempted to return the lid and they refused to take it back. I refused to leave the premises until I had it in writing that the grey lid would be here by February 3 or we would be permitted to return the brown lid and get a refund. The owner refused. We now have a brown lid that we don't want and no guarantee that we will have a grey one any time soon. The owner has stated it will be in by February 3 but refused to put it in writing that if it is not there by then we could return the brown lid and get a refund. UPDATE: 5:12 pm on January 28, Sun Ray owner called my husband and said "the deal is off" due to me posting what has happened thus far. Apparently the owner feels that refusing to take a return of an incorrect product and promising a refund if the correct product is not provided is unreasonable. UPDATE: Have been advised to cease contact with the company other than if they take the incorrect lid back and exchange it for the correct one by February 3. read more

AMAZING PRODUCT, AMAZING SERVICE! When we were looking to invest in a hot-tub, we knew we wanted a solid product that had a good reputation! It is also very important to our family to support local! So of course we stopped in at Sun Ray! The moment we walked in and Graham approached us, we knew we were at the right place! He took his time to help our family make the best decision! But this is not the best part! We got our tub and the installation men were incredible, but we couldn't get the hot tub figured out the evening we went to go use it. Thinking I was just phoning and leaving a message for someone to call me back the next day, to my shock, Graham called and got his service man to give us a call and got us up and running that night at 9:00 p.m. on a Friday night! How awesome is that!!!! That is going above and beyond! Not only that, they follow up with us to ensure we are having no issues! This is a smaller store that stocks quality patio furniture. The sales staff were there to help me and I didn't feel pressured into purchasing. When I first walked in, I thought it was too small. But they have carefully packed in a lot of different types of patio furniture and a lot of different options. All without feeling too squished. An amazing company! From the manufacturing facility to the show room it was evident that they knew their stuff! Then as we decided on which tub would suit our needs; the service began. From the staff taking down all our details regarding location and times that would work for delivery to the crew that came and did the installation, everyone was first rate.
