Just wanted to mention an employee who works at the Valley St Suntan City location. Her name is Laura and she is super sweet and so nice. I don't go often but when I do and she is working she is so very helpful. Last time I went I didn't have lotion and she even let me use her own lotion and helped me out with eye ware when I forgot mine at home. There was another girl there, Grace, who no longer works there, but she was also super nice. Both Laura and Grace have helped me out a lot and make my time there welcoming. most of the staff are great. Whoever the girl is that claims to be a "manager" is rude - Megan might be her name i dont no because I honestly dont care, shes disrespectful and walking around outside 5 minutes before close with her purse on then comes running in saying everything's shut down when there VERY FRIENDLY EMPLOYEE MATT was checking if it was already closed down.. DONT close at 8 and tell people they cant do a 5 min spray tan at 7:50. And more importantly if you're stopping clients at 7:50 so you can leave at 8, dont come outside at 8 and chit chat with your friends, stay inside and close so you can leave considering you just turned a client away. also the same girl who will put her friends in line ahead of you when you walk in before her friend. every place has one bad apple unfortunately. BEWARE: BAIT & SWITCH. I've tanned at the Manchester, NH location on occasion for years (typically before vacations & events) and never had a problem...until today. I love the instant tanning bed, and on the Sun Tan City website, the monthly unlimited price is $64.99+tax and the no-commitment price for a month is $84.99+tax. I decided to go with the latter option as I have a vacation coming up soon but do not tan on a regular basis. So I drive the half hour to this salon, only to be told that both of the above options are essentially the same (except one is $20 more) since instead of "month" meaning today (6/4) through this day next month (7/4), "month" in this scenario means that they pro-rate this month and charge me automatically for all of next month too. BUT, for $119.99+tax ($35 more!!), I can get what I came for: the "30-day guest pass" that is NOT listed on the website. This is unethical, is 100% a bait and switch, and borders on fraud. I am reporting this to the BBB & Consumer Protection agencies, and I took my money to the much more honest Executive Tan in Nashua. In addition, when I called the corporate office the 1st representative, Eva, hung up on me. When I called back, I was on hold for 15 minutes before giving up to run into a restaurant to grab some food to go. I called back & was on hold for 25 minutes before running my next errand. Called again & was on hold for 45 minutes before I got Jennifer, who was also of no help. I'm wholly unimpressed. read more

I have been looking for a tanning salon since moving to New Hampshire from New York. I can't express how great it is and reasonably priced! I signed up for the special in May and paid up front ended up only being 10 dollars a month!! And the best is I never have to wait and if I do there's always a waiting time so I know how long Incase I'm in a rush. The employees are extremely friendly, and answered all of my questions! Checking in is always a breeze and the employees always tell me about the specials if I want to upgrade! 100% would recommend! read more

I have tanned here off and on for over three years. When I first became a member the employees were great, super helpful, and very attentive. Not much to complain about except that they always tried to get me to buy lotions. In all honesty- the lotions here are way over priced, you can get the exact same ones on eBay or amazon for a third of the price they are charging. I stopped tanning here for a little over a year as I felt it was a bit frivolous to have the membership here and my gym membership as my gym had a stand up booth. I just started coming here again about two weeks ago (thank you tour of the city promo and now free tan week promo) and the beds are the same, great as always. The staff is different and has been polite each visit. My only issue, which is mainly why I rated this place three stars, is the music they have playing in all the rooms. I get that not everyone has the same taste in music, but I would think you choose to play something that meets all tastes in the middle. Rather than that, on every visit to this location in the past two weeks they have had rap music playing. Like I said, I get not everyone has the same taste, but rap all the time? Can it be changed up a little? It's not exactly relaxing to lay in a bed listening to that, at least not for me. read more

I don't recommend due to the staff I met yesterday. I've heard from family that Manchester is a rough part of N.H., but the last thing I expected was a slimy tanning bed that was not cleaned after the last person!!!!!! ...Or the employee practically falling asleep while talking to me. I couldn't understand anything she was saying. I asked about the Lotion of the Month promo, and she stated that they don't have it anymore and they need to update the website. I don't think she felt like talking. I tanned with no lotion, except the leftover lotion from the person before me. I realized after I slid into the bed and my backside started to burn that the bed wasn't clean!!!! I never use Tingle Lotion because I get hives. THANKS. Disgusting, especially in a pandemic. Not what I needed the week before a wedding. I will forever check tanning beds now. That bra-less, poor excuse of an employee (name on name card was ERIN TC) is going to cause this company a lawsuit. When I was leaving, she was no where to be found. I wanted a refund. I planned on tanning for a week here before my cousins wedding, due to location, but thankfully today found a place called Amazing Tan and this will be my new spot every time I visit. read more

For being located where it is, this place is pretty awesome. The place is always clean and staff here is pretty much amazing. I just happened to walk in one day because I wanted to go tanning and signed up for the $10/month promo for unlimited so its definitely affordable. Lots of bed options...though they know I don't like to get too dark so I just stay in the "fast" option. (They remember things like that about you, too.) I like the blend brand of lotion so they also always tell me when it's on sale, which happens quite often it seems. Also, they have have like "free upgrade week" periodically, which is pretty cool because you're able to check out the next level bed for free. I'm moving to the west coast pretty soon and I'm going to miss these characters - but I'll be back to visit them for sure. read more

The girls at the desk are extremely pushy about add on services and products EVERY TIME you visit. I'm pretty sure that people go tanning to relax not to get hounded by sales people or get bullied by college students. And god FORBID your lotion is not from them they will basically make fun of you and tell you you won't tan or they will threaten you that you will get streaky or that other companies lotions don't work, give me a break! The salem location is just as bad with the pushy commissioners. My advice, bring your headphones. read more

I bought a package here for a trip im going on in May and i was very disappointed. The person that sold me the package neglected to tell me there was a sign up fee. Then a couple of time they said my room was ready the floor had candy wrappers and dust and grime all over the floors. One time i walked in and there was a visable tanning cream all over the front of the "clean" bed. Then when i go to close the tanning bed i can see imprints on the top of the cover. I used their bathroom...OMG disgusting is all i can say...no toilet paper, no soap and no paper towels..The floor looked like it hadnt been mopped in over 2 months. I was very surprised because about two years ago i had gone here and it was very clean. I will not be renewing my tanning membership here. read more

STC in Manchester is in a great location and overall, a fairly clean place. I have a few easy suggestions, however, to make it go from just "ok" to "AWESOME!!!" 1) Put small trash cans in each tanning room. Customers should not have to gather their trash (Wink-ese wrappers, single serve tan-lotion packets, etc) to remove upon leaving, we should be able to dispose of it in the room. It would take an extra 5-10 minutes a night tops for an employee to empty these. 2) Use something like a solution of Odo-ban and water to clean and sanitize the beds. It's safe and people will be able to smell that it's clean - and be sure they are not just quickly wiping things down shoddily -- I too have seen smears from previous tanners' bodies in a supposedly "clean" bed as another Yelper noticed. Needless to say, most people tan "in the buff" so cleanliness is the most important thing here. =) I get that sometimes it's busy and people are waiting to tan, but I'd rather wait another few minutes and know that the bed is super clean and sanitized. 3) Have some sort of disposable liner for people to stand on in the stand up booths. I wear my shoes in there because I don't want to step on the surface barefoot! The packages, overall, are good. Lotions are costly, even with all the sales constantly happening. Only a few of the lotions have no parabens, which is important to some. I too got agitated when I could not tan the full time in a bed when I was clearly already very tan - but I get they are following regulations. Overall a good experience, but make a few improvements and I think you'll be even better! read more

I have never been treated so rudely by staff. Last time I went for a $5 spray tan and I had a great experience with the man with dark hair, he was super nice. This time it was a different guy with a beanie. He was so rude to my friends and I that we were left speechless. Immediately tried to sign my friends and I up for a membership which we did not want because we don't even live in town, and when we told him we didn't want the membership he gave us so much attitude and told us that "mommy and daddy wouldn't want to pay for a $30-40 spray tan." He tried to con my friends and I into buying way more than what we wanted. He made multiple comments about "mommy and daddy's money" which was incredibly rude of him to assume just because we are young college girls. These comments were very unprovoked, we did not say anything except that we didn't want the membership because it was too expensive for us. I work very hard for my money and DO NOT get money from mommy and daddy... every comment from him had so much sass and attitude and we did not even respond. I will NOT be going here again and will be telling all my other college friends to never go back because of the rude customer service. read more

You get screwed if you are not a member. 37$ for a 7 minute session due to the company wanting to protect itself from being sued by those who can't use tanning beds responsibly. I am visibly tan and hispanic however I was not allowed to go for the full 12 minutes and paid an arm and a leg because I didn't want the membership. When I visited the front desk girl called the back to get approval for a one time exception for me to go for 12 minutes because I am tan and could handle the strongest bed- as I indicated on my waiver form that I signed. When I got in the bed, it shut off at 7 and when I called the girl- she said oh the manager must have forgot she approved it so that was a waste of money. I didn't want a monthly obligation because I only need to tan for special occasions like the wedding I was attending. The facility is clean and looks modern. However the customer service and ridiculous liability policies should be reviewed based off of the individual customer rather than penalizing clients who are already tan by genetics. read more

This one is so much better than the one in Salem if you want to be treated like an actual human being.the spray tan color isn't as dark as amazing tan but it's way cheaper to have a membership here than amazing tan for spray tan it's only $30 a month read more

There is maybe two girls that are competent in the entire building, every time I go in I have to repeat myself a million times about the services I want to render, even after stating the same thing numerous times they frequently get my requests wrong. I get the same exact thing every weekly visit and when it's incorrect there is usually someone else to blame, or an excuse. Never an apology or promise of revision. I almost always wait at the front desk for someone to pop up. I've even waited on and watched an employee sit in the waiting area to braid someone's hair while on the clock! I pay for a membership and my history is there and not a single employee checks it unless I ask. Never asked for eyewear which I always have and use. I've often been left without towels being replaced or wipes in the spray booth, and not notice until I'm undressed. The manager is very argumentative, almost rude. Jumps in on conversations that weren't involving her. Has complained to me in person about her "dumb ass employees" for their mistakes. The last two weeks the spray booth was having issues, I understand these things happen. I chose at my own risk to try it and it came out fine, I've been spraying for over a decade. I went a week later and the manager was yelling and argumentative about the booths, would not listen to my comments and spoke over me, completely dismissed anything I could suggest to remedy her issue when I was trying to help her out. put me in a booth that had empty solution. So nothing sprayed, I had to get dressed and allow them into the room to replace it which is when blame was placed on her "dumb ass employees". When a team isn't cohesive, it's typically at the fault of management. The booth obviously had air in the lines and caused issues with the tan, not mad, I can remedy but when I came out the second time, the manager was again very argumentative, dismissed my explanation of my experience, talking over me. The entire time I remained calm, understanding of her comments about her dissatisfaction with her booths and own spray tan, but what happened to customer satisfaction? Customer service? Get these people out of here. I've worked in the industry so I was offering my knowledge, and the woman was irrational, and could not reason with logic. I'm not writing this over one offense, I chose to write this because it's been consistent with the Manchester location for months. I often travel to concord just to deal with higher I.Q.'s and less aggravation. And will probably continue to do so. Please remedy the situation, I enjoy the facility, but the staff is ridiculous! read more

I went to Sun Tan City last week to get a Versa Spa spray tan. I am very pale and was going on a camping trip, I had a free coupon so why not? I was greeted by two very nice girls who were very helpful. They were not too pushy with the upsale and answered any questions I had. I was recommended the "medium clear". I wasn't tan for at least 8 hours, but it gradually built up. My face was splotchy, but after a face scrub it was fine. I recommend using the towel they provide to put on the floor of the booth, because the bottom of my feet were DARK brown from the puddle of tanner! No matter how much I scrubbed that, it didn't come off. My tan lasted about three days, and now it's coming off a little splotchy, but not too noticeable. I would recommend trying the spray tan here; it was a fun experience. The facility was clean and the customer service was very nice. read more

I have been a member of this location for over 2 years. I've tried all the beds but always end up back at the instant bed. It's pricey, but if you were to go for single sessions you'd pay a lot more. Once you meet your contract requirements you can opt out (freeze) your account until you're ready to rejoin. I've done that a few times. When I unfroze in the middle of a month I'd be prorated the cost and since I was using an instant bed I still got really good color for the 2 weeks I had. And not only that, but it stayed. When I was having financial difficulties I froze for a couple months straight. When the company emailed me to ask why I was staying frozen for so long, I explained my situation and they offered me an extremely low monthly rate for 6 full months. They've always gone above and beyond. Everyone that works there is super nice, I have never had any issues here. read more

This location is by far the best in New Hampshire. Jenna and Ashley are always so pleasant and welcoming when I am greeted at the front desk. Jenna always knows how to make me feel welcomed right when i walk through the door. Ashley always makes sure that I have everything I need before I start my relaxation in their wonderful tanning beds. I always tell my husband how impressed I am with the cleanliness of the Manchester location. I am sure to ALWAYS 5 star sun tan city (Manchester location) whenever I can. This place was absolutely horrible! The manager Madison was very rude. She blew off my concerns. I bought a spray tan which she told me was expired.. so I paid for nothing. Then I spoke with their customer service rep said they were offering $10 spray tans this week. The manager their so no they were not. I had to get the customer service rep back on the phone for her to honor the deal... they don't even know what specials they are running? I get in the machine which was dirty. Lotion all over the floor. The machine didn't work. Just blew air with no solution. I call the desk and their answer was "I guess it's broken we'll shut it down" like what?!?!? You guess it's broken? This staff was completely clueless!! Not helpful and NOT nice at all. On top of everything. I use the bathroom and there's no toilet paper anywhere.. Anyone thinking of tanning here should do so with great caution... Especially if you value your bank account let alone your faith in honest businesses. Tanning for roughly 10-12 minutes comes with some risks but not nearly the risks that came to my bank account. I gladly signed up for six months (January and ending in June) because of a vacation and the typical winter paleness that drives anyone to wanting a nice tan. When I expressed my desires to end my membership because I could now get a natural tan, I was told no problem... Just pay to the end of May. I was reassured again when questioned at the end of May as well. So on what I thought was my ldt day in May, I was told no actually I have to pay for June as well... Well ok no problem... They did SAY til June. So once again, the end of June I stated I wanted to end my contract at the end of the month. Once again I was told no problem. I was mislead and greatly misinformed. Much to my surprise, I was told that my membership required me to pay again on July 1st through an automatic bank withdrawal. This was beyond frustrating because I was told not once but TWICE that my membership would be terminated as requested at the end of the month. Although the manager Tammy made an attempt to the ever so slightly sympathetic towards my frustrations and understood the financial impact this was continuing to cause me (note- having to pay two additional months beyond what was expected!!) there was no offer of a resolution or remedy to the misleading information. When told to contact corporate office, I ended up in contact with "Vanessa" a cartoon online "manager"... I usually go to the Rochester Sun Tan City and its always great, never dull bulbs. So, yesterday when I came to the Manchester one I paid $15 to upgrade my sunless membership I've had for years to get a double dip before a photoshoot. When I do this in Rochester I go 8 minutes, I did the full 12 here in Manchester and it did nothing. Usually my freckles pop right out. So when I came back in tonight (the next night) and told the attendant what had happened, first I was cut right off by her ordering food, then she told me I had already used a coupon (?) and she cant do anything it wasn't allowed to give a discount or free one, like she didn't have the authority. So i asked if she was a manager and she said yes. So I asked, No one has ever been unsatisfied with their tan and you had to give them a free one? She replied "I've just given out so many already today" and I'm thinking what??? You just said that isn't possible so I asked what does that do for me? And she clicked the button a few times and with an attitude said bed 12. Mind you, this has never happened with me before, I've never asked for anything free. This sun tan city is the worst I've been to. Unfriendly staff and low quality bulbs in the beds. read more

This place is hands down the worst run company I have ever encountered . I was in this location , and the "big Whig" Christine was in the building during my visit . She treats her employees like garbage , she pretended like we as customers didn't exist , she was constantly jabbering away on her cell phone the entire visit . She showed no patience what so ever , she constantly was rolling her eyes in disgust at her employees. Hey Christine , here's a thought ; how about you actually take a hands on approach in your company . How about you take the time to train your employees? If you spent a little less time on that telephone and a little more on your business maybe people wouldn't think your a vile human being . I have seen these girls at the peak of stress because you leave them understaffed , untrained , and with equipment that breaks when the wind blows .
