My daughter got me a facial for my birthday here last week. I have never had a facial so was nervous. The Esthetician i had was Lilly she was amazing. Very sweet and knowledgeable, put me right at ease. The arm and hand massage was amazing and totally relaxing. All the facial treatments felt great and the hot towel and neck and shoulder rubs were a great bonus. I can't remember the last time I was that relaxed (and I am a very tense person) . Very nice decor, parking can be a little tight. Pedicures and manicures are now rushed. They say when booking it's an hour pedicure, but the services are rushed and it's actually 30-40 minutes which is NOT how it is described. My friend no longer goes to Arcadya as she finds it's now more like the quicky $28 pedicure places. Sad, it used to be great! read more

I scheduled my first full spa day here, massage, body wrap, facial, manicure and pedicure. i wish it was all I'd hoped for but it wasn't. I was there for 5 hrs and wasn't even offered a beverage. I had to ask to refill my water bottle from their water cooler! There are pics on the website showing women drinking wine, do not expect that here. I did enjoy the facial and massage, but overall, the services here are WAY overpriced. I paid extra for the special mani/pedi that included a hand, arm and leg massage but all I got was the employee quickly rubbing in some lotion and that was it. I won't come back here. read more

I didn't even feel like she was trying to relax me, it felt like she was just rubbing my body. It was also, not an hour long... I had an appointment at 9:30 and ended up getting up at 10:20. Came here for the first time in the winter for a deep tissue massage. It was one of the few salons in the area that accepted a GroupOn and while the massage helped my pain, it was not the best massage I've ever had. I got a 10% coupon in the mail and used it for an eyebrow wax. Melinda was great; we striked up a conversation and she was very thorough. I apologized to her saying that I had sensitive skin so it was normal for me to have redness for an extended time after the fact and she understood. Ambiance is great. It's a little expensive compared to other salons in the area and the parking lot is tiny, but overall I do enjoy going here :) read more

My hair appointment turned out to be a huge disappointment. I had booked the last minute and my stylist called me ahead of time to confirm what I was looking for, which was to add/lighten to my existing highlights as they had grown out. The stylist was very friendly and I felt we had a good rapport, however the issue started when the bleach wasn't lifting my hair as expected. The stylist asked another stylist who proceeded to ask me, in an almost hostile tone, when the last time I had my hair dyed. I explained to her, as I had to my stylist, I had been to another salon in the summer, that my hair had been red two years prior. As far as had been explained to me previously, the red color had been dyed or had grown out. I understand that it must be frustrating for a stylist to start a process on someone's hair and it not turn out how you expected. However, imagine my shock at the situation also. The questions if I were sure it was my highlights were professionally done multiple times, the overall accusatory tone from the second stylist - I felt shamed and guilty as if by being a customer I had done something wrong. It was honestly hard to keep my composure and I am usually a calm person willing to give the benefit of the doubt. It's been a few days and I've reflected on my experience. Even discounting that they could not properly lift the bottom portion of my hair, the portion near my scalp was not great. Patchy bleaching, and again just very disappointing. Would not recommend, mostly for the poor customer interaction by the second stylist. read more

I was here last week to get my hair colored and cut. When I made the appointment, I told the receptionist that I have very long hair. I mentioned this to be sure she would book enough time, but apparently she ignored me. The stylist colored my hair, then washed it, but during the cut went into a severe rush mode. She then told me she would not have time to dry my hair because aforementioned ditz did not book enough time and now she had another customer waiting. This was now about 6pm in the evening, and I had to leave the salon with a soaking wet head, in December. I had planned to go xmas shopping afterwards, but apparently not. The stylist told me next time she would blow it dry nice then do a dry cut to fix up bangs, and make it look great. I really wanted to look great the night I paid almost $200, not 3 months from now. Of course, as I stood in line at the reception desk to pay I ran into someone I know so I had to stand there looking like a drowned rat or like I couldn't afford to pay for a blow dry. Embarrassing. Receptionist pushed her upsell on me as I tried to pay, "buy this, buy that...refer your friends, we have a rewards program". No thanks. My friends like to get their hair dry. And I don't think crooked bangs are the rage now. I went home, washed my hair and dried it, only to find out that my bangs were crooked, I did not get the long layers that I asked for, and although I like the color, it looks like some parts underneath were missed completely. I guess if I had the luxury of having it dried AT the salon, I could have had some of this fixed. I emailed the owner, Joni, who then called me and she offered that I could come back and have the same stylist fix it, even tho I told her in my email that my schedule really didn't allow for me to get back in there this month. Joni really didn't seem to care, to be honest. She had a very nonchalant attitude about the experience. I won't be going back. I just think this is very bad customer service across the board. I will agree with other ratings, the decor of the salon is beautiful. I think people should leave feeling just as beautiful, not rushed, not made to feel un-important, and not soaking wet. read more

I went for a Swedish massage and gel manicure. The manicure was well done and she was very thorough - although it seemed to run about 10 minutes late into my scheduled massage. I was not offered a beverage when I walked in, so ended up asking during the manicure. The massage was disappointing. I saw Rowena, and she was uninterested. The owner is a very warm person and I love the atmosphere of this salon, it's very victorian and I feel as though I am in someone's home, not a salon. It is a full-service salon/spa, although I have not experienced the spa portion, just hair. I have had my hair cut and colored here for a while now, and they are a very professional salon that does what I want. My regular hair stylist has been out on leave, so I miss her; however the owner had stepped in and has been doing my hair; and it's just as fabulous. Came here for a spa day with my friend. We had a massage and classic manis and pedis. The best part was the mani pedis. I had Cindy for my mani, and Brittanie for my pedi and they were both awesome. Cindy offered me a mimosa which I gladly indulged in. She shaped my nails perfectly and my polish looks awesome. Brittanie did a great job on my feet. Normally my feet are so ticklish when being scrubbed, but I didn't even flinch. Both ladies were super nice and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. The massage was ok, not the best I've ever had. I felt like she was really just rubbing oil on my skin rather than massaging and releasing tension from my muscles. I have to say speaking personally, I love this salon. It's the best one in Southern NH. as far as I'm concerned. Excellent customer service, the hairdressers know what there doing and it's a comfortable atmosphere. I was able to bring my very well behaved 6 year old and they didn't have any issues with children being at there salon, they do offer services for children. The price is excellent $25.00 for a wash, cut, and style, for a reasonable price you get a very high-end haircut. I'm looking forward to going back as a mother / daughter and get both done. They are so personable and genuinely care about there clients, both my daughter and I have many allergies and they are looking into products that we can use. I've gotten my hair cut twice by the same stylist and she did exactly what I requested both times. i recently went for the spa side of the salon and purchased a package that included a 1 hour massage, pedicure, manicure and a light lunch! The massage was great, she was very pleasant. The pedicure was more then I expected, friendly conversation with the artist. And the manicure was nice, felt a little rushed. the only downfall was they don't have a drier for the nails, so you jus hope it doesn't smudge. The packages included a delicious lunch from panera! Also have the tips included in the total for package was easy and helpful! The staff is very friendly and the salon is beautiful! Appointments are on-time, employees are all friendly and helpful and they always ask me if I would like to settle my bill before they apply the polish, so my nails always turn out perfect. Couldn't be happier with the outcome. My husband and mother-in-law have been going here for years and I figured Id give it a try. I always keep an open mind with my hair and am up to anything. Courtney asked all the right questions, listened to my hair woes, offered great suggestions, then transformed my hair. My hairstylist of 20 years retired last year and I've been reluctant to find another stylist. I've been growing my hair out and it's been almost a year since my last cut/style! Great place! I have been seeing Courtney I. at Arcadya for about a year now. I decided it was time to address the gray hairs and change my hairstyle as I am now starting my career! She and the other staff at Arcadya are professional, easy-going, and extremely competent. In the past, I have felt uncomfortable about going to salons because I'm not your typical "pretty girl type" but the staff at Arcadya are fun and welcoming to everyone. The atmosphere of the salon is calming. It is very clean and doesn't smell like ammonia and burnt hair (I can't believe how many hair salons smell like that). Oh, and their parking lot is a little tricky, so I park on the street. Courtney is a hair magician. She will consult with you thoroughly before touching your hair to make sure she understands your vision and you understand her process. One time, I was envisioning a look for myself but she gently steered me into a different direction. I entrusted her to do my hair the way she felt was best for my hair and my personal style. It wound up looking even better than I had originally pictured in my mind. She is an expert, a professional, and an artist. She also helped me develop a hair routine. She showed me how to properly blow dry my hair and directed me to products that she recommended for me. Overall, Arcadya is a friendly and professional salon. You hair is an investment. Where to start...first I've had a few really bad experiences (bringing pictures and having it look NOTHING like it for example) so I am always VERY nervous and leery to try new places/hair stylists. I have been in the mood for a change so started looking for a salon and reading reviews. I really wanted someone who could recommend a new look (kind of like getting a makeover). I got an appt w/Christine and she listened to my likes/dislikes, what I may be looking for and then made some suggestions on color and cut. She also showed me how to achieve my look. I couldn't be happier w/my new look!!! Was just enough change w/o going too crazy, which is just what I told her! If I could give this place zero stars, I certainly would. The place is nice and comfortable, but their customer service policies are completely wrong. I had my hair done here a few times, always overcharged ($250 for a hair color that they did wrong?!), and they book two clients at once so you don't get the feeling that they actually want to help YOU. I had a problem here once, and was told by the manager that there is nothing they could do. The person who cut my hair completely embarrassed me in front of her coworkers. I have made sure to tell everyone I know about this place. Please stop overcharging people, and start taking customer service a little more seriously. This is strictly directed to those who do hair and the owners. Absolutely horrible place because of their lack of care for each customer. read more

I have been visiting this establishment since its inception. Always wonderful, professional services! My hair looks outstanding after every visit. My shellacs and pedis are done to perfection. My esthetician gives my skin a shiny newbie glow and the massages are fantastic. I have very high standards and this facility exceeds all expectations! Poor customer service. Got a pedicure for $50 and had to come back twice to fix it! First there was a smudge (they didn't really let the first layer dry before putting the next one on). And the second time I had to come back because the girl put a different color nail polish on the toe she was fixing the smudge on!!! I didn't catch it until I got home and saw my toes in the sunlight. The worst part is that they deleted my post about this incident on their Facebook page! My mother scheduled appointments for her, my sister and my self for pedicures as a Mother's Day gift for us. They called to confirm the day before where she repeatedly expressed how much we were all looking forward to it. After confirming the pedicures, she asked to reschedule a hair appointment. Fast forward to the day of the appointment - we show up only to be told one of the appointments had been cancelled (after waiting for 20 minutes). Supposedly because they were told one of us was sick - which absolutely never happened. We were given a lame apology with an excuse of a miscommunication and an offer to reschedule and that was it. So thank you Arcadya for ruining a mother's day trip. You should probably train your employees better so they know the difference between "confirm" and "cancel" read more

Very happy with the services I received here. I'm a guy and had some hair waxing services done. I thought they were very professional. Honestly, the waxing was much less painful than I thought it would be, even in some of the more sensitive spots. I have to attribute that to the skill of the esthetician. I went here for a manicure. There was nothing done to assure that my nails would be somewhat dry before leaving the salon, so by the time I got to my car four of my nails were smushed. At other salons I have been to they have used a nail dryer or a very effective drying top coat. To pay a lot of money plus tip and then have to re-do that many nails is just not right. read more

She's incredibly knowledgeable and confident with lots of training behind her belt, which makes you feel like you are truly in good hands.
