The Arizona department of transportation does not give anything but that on the day of a 21st birthday, there was nothing more I could've done. They refused my entire group because of this. Not sure if this is the official Yelp for Sunbar or not but i came here from out of state last weekend and it was SO FUN!!!! We came for the brunch, 10-4PM with their incredible deal of 1 cent champagne BOTTLES with an entree. The food was good, nothing amazing but not gross. The deal though.... Just SO GOOD! They have a variety of juices to choose from, the vibes are there. They have live music with a small area to dance, the waitresses are sooo nice there. Parking is easy and convenient. The setting is beachy, and again, just plain FUN!! I had the Hemp Tamales, twice, because they were that good. Hubs had a double burger with plant based patties, and we questioned if they weren't plant based- SO GOOD. My daughter had the wings and the chicken sandwich. I worked in the bar industry in tempe my entire college experience and I have never seen a situation dealt poorer with management and THE OWNER. They were unbelievably neglectful of owning up to the poor service and so quick to pass off the blame on customers. I waited 3 hours for a breakfast burrito and 1 hour and a half for a drink. My friend and I came to get the champagne deal for Saturday's brunch and the service has been a very unpleasant experience. First off when we first got here we didn't get anyone to take our order for a good 15-20 minutes. We had to ask our server for water, we live in Arizona it's hot. The workers literally "one second" me for no reason when I was just trying to get some napkins. My burger tasted worse than McDonald's, literally. My French fries are so cold, they brought them back to me after serving it the first time and they were still cold but I didn't want to say anything. The burger doesn't taste like anything, I had to ask for salt to season it myself. And yeah, try to get the servers attention if she's not too busy talking to her friends or following other tables on insta. I would rather pay full price for a bottle and good food than this. I love the talent that they bring in for the DJS, I have boughts show tickets to there twice now. The layout of the club section is good, nice sound, a big screen behind the DJ. My complaint is their staff - I've seen them scramble to get the club section ready before doors open twice now, have no respect to patrons that are sitting there patiently waiting. On top of that, in the middle of one of these shows I went to, I went outside in the bar area to get some fresh air and stretch my back. So, I had put my back against the wall, put my feet together, and bent over, trying to touch my toes. The next thing I know, I get forcibly grabbed by the arm, and start to get dragged out of the venue. I look up to see a security guard who is holding me by the arm. I ask him politely - excuse me sir, why am I being dragged out? I had paid for tickets to come see this show, visibly sober (I don't drink, I just enjoy watching edm artists perform live) He doesnt answer my question and tells me instead; "you're done". He throws me out the venue and walks back in. I stand there and look at the security guard who was checking ID's at the front. He clearly notices how sober I am, and radios in to the rest of his security buddies why I was thrown out. After a few minutes of talking on his earpiece, he let's me back in. Now I think what happened is because I was stretching and bending over, it may have looked like I was about to get sick from too much alcohol. However, instead of asking me if I'm okay, if I want to sit down for a second (if I was really going to puke from too much alcohol, dragging me across the entire bar is surely a GREAT idea), none of that. I have never been treated so rudely at any establishment in my life before, and I have traveled all over the country and world. This is a disgrace and such a downer, because like I said, I enjoy the musical talent that they bring into Tempe, and the venue itself is solid. Went for the Brunch Special of the 1¢ bottle of champagne. Food was mediocre. It came out lukewarm and was served on a paper plate with plastic utensils. Was super difficult to eat the chicken and waffles with a cheap plastic fork. The gravy and biscuits were okay. When I used almost all the little amount of gravy on the first biscuit I was left with a hard dry biscuit that I just left on the plate. Champagne was cheap but did it's job. Each brunch entree comes with a 1 cent full size bottle of champagne and you can purchase a glass of juice to pair with it for an additional $3. My total bill came out to $20 including the tax and tip so it's pretty affordable. The ambiance is fantastic! I am Handicap with a handicap plaque to dispaly. I drove to Sunbar to visit and see a show so i normally dont drive cuz i live a few blocks away on the lake but my back was spasming so i decided to not walk on mill for safety. I originally pulled in where it had signs that said parking for sandbar customers only and the parking spot has a pole w sign on it that is flipped the opposite diection but when i got out of car to see what it said it said handicap so i thought that was best to park in the handicap spot they had available it was just a parking area that was attached with walk through like they were connected. I walked around to front and all lights were off dark like closed except for a man setting in dark in a booth to left so i waked and sat @ another place and waited a while then came back to car to put my bag in it and there were metal rows of gates that had been put up in parking area blocking handicap sign and parking spot. I was just going to let it be but thought i should ask who it was that put up gates. I asked one of the guys that were checking people, about what i was to do and before i could finish my sentence he yelled "im not moving Anything"! Like meaning not moving his gate that he had just put up making sure they blocked the car. So when i would have been done watching the show then how was i suppossed to get out? He proceeded to tell me that i can move my car after @ am, telling one of the girls he should tow my car, that i better not destroy any of his stuff or hell call the police ,just smurking and being very rude and definately not handicap accomodating actually causing hardship for me by not trying to hear me or accomodate my situation. He immediately chose to start being aggressive not trying to listen as to why i was parked there. Why would they have a handicap parking spot attatched to a sign that says parking for Sandbar customers only and then not expect for a handicap person to park in it to come to sandbar and have a handicap parking spot in an area where u are going to turn an completely open parking area into a blocked off line for customers to enter when the entrance is around the front. It has no warnings , no signs saying this area turns into metal lines later, or dont park here construction.... Anything?! Sanbar should look @ video and see me from the minute i parked so they see why and how i did and then how their employee treated me and caused me not to come in to sandbar and to end my evening and to walk my handicap self home alone because so upset the way he treated me. Did not want to go into sandbar after his attitude! There are many handicap spaces on mill and the only reason i parked in that one is because it was attatched to Sandbar parking. It was 10 pm when this encounter happened. There was no one in that line. 1 guy walked up when he heard that employee chewing me out and he tried telling me to just manover my way out like trying to help me. There was no reason for his attitude and especially beings im handicap he should have tried to accomidate or help a little. The gates are literally easily movable obviously cuz they move them around many times a day. He was just out of line. I actually didnt even ask him to move them he just started blurting out that "He isnt moving anything". That he should tow me. Never asked me if i was trying to come in for show . I was going to be a paying customer if he would have cared to ask. I know people who work @ Sunbar and have always had a great time and service until tonight because of the attitude and high horse attitude of that employee in back parking area. I walked home to write this review instead of enjoying my Friday night . My husband went to retrieve my car that they had blocked in and he told them he was going to call the police so the same guy that harrassed me decided to move the gates so he could get my car out of a federal parking spot for handicap. I should have called the police on him when i was there for blocking a handicap parking place bjut then that might have caused a fine for them. Please educate that employee on federal rules , handicap parking, and common manners. read more

The attention to detail when it comes to preparing a sanitized, safe, socially distanced entity during this time of crisis is unparalleled. This place feels at home while making me feel safe. The sound barriers provide for an intimate and effective experience for its patrons and clearly a care and receptiveness toward the neighboring businesses. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the beautiful greenery in and around the building were live plants, locally sourced here in Arizona. Sunbar's weekend Brunches are a refresher and cost effective way to obtain a trifecta of service, experience and food. I LOVE their breakfast nachos and Bacon burger! Tyler at the bar has never steered me wrong from a delicious food or drink recommendation. I have never been disappointed in my time here and every time I leave I am anticipating my next return. Dramtic shift in vibes and customer service. Our bartender the last two times we visited were absolutely disengaged, rude and dismissive. I had previously nothing but great experiences with the food, service and atmosphere the last 10+ times... but now this establishment is seriously upsetting. NO ice buckets to chill champagne bottles (unacceptable for outdoor service when we are there for 2+ hours for brunch) Drink get hot! Our bartender this sunday took 40 minutes to take my friends food order after we already had been eating and trying to flag him down. My other friend kindly asked for "some napkins please, when you get a chance" and when asked if he heard her request he said "no" and shook his head.... never brought the napkins. wtf is going on here? This seems like a petty complaint, but ALL condiments and hot sauce bottles are DIRTY, running out, completely empty. The woman's restrooms are disgusting and smell of urine and human feces and have wet toilet paper stuck to the floor. THERE IS CURRENTLY A SWARM OF ACTUAL BEES BEHIND THE BAR which caused my friends and other patrons to repeatedly move away from the area to avoid being stung. Bartender never ONCE asked how we were doing or if we would like anything else.
