This one only has 8 spots to fill up and normally at least one is open. It can be a little awkward to access them depending on which ones are filled, but they do have extra room around them and multiple driveways to enter or exit from. When I have gone inside, the people working have been nice. They still have a good soda fountain too! Inside is stocked with snacks but not as much hot food since this is one of the smaller locations.

The reason I docked a star from the rating was the difficulty in maneuvering the parking lot/gas pumps. It's always busy and pretty awkward. But I guess that's just a side effect of being a place that so many people want to visit.

Later, as an older but still punk kid I remember stopping in here to buy gas quite often. That was before the craziness of Union Heights, and back when it was an older, run down Chevron. Nowadays, it's pretty slick. Still tiny--the convenience store has the basics and not much else--but it's a pretty gas station, if there is such a thing. Truthfully, I tend to avoid this place, even though it's super convenient when you're out shopping or seeing a movie. It's a price thing. And while I still remember when gas got over $1.00 for the first time, I don't think it's my association with the gas station of my youth. I really do think it's a little more expensive here. I mean, if we're nitpicking. Get your gas, see a movie, get a car wash. Sounds like a Saturday to me.

Talk about a niche market: People living or working around the Fort Union triangle who are too cheap to get a membership -- or too lazy to drive 5 miles -- to Costco. On this night, we fit that description. They have ... let's just call them the sparsest amenities of any gas station in the area. While the TWO amply lit Maverik "Adventure's First Stop" (less than a mile apart!) were packed, we shared the Shell station with a night clerk and some grizzled dude in an ancient Ford Taurus who parked in front of the door ... and was just there to buy a pack of smokes. There was an old Simon & Garfunkel song, "A Heart in New York", where the song goes "Lookin' down on Central Park, Where they say you should not wander after dark." Well substitute "Central Park" with "the Shell Station on Fort Union Boulevard." Well, I'm exaggerating, but I'd turn the safety off your mace ... just in case ;) Again, we were there for the cheapest gas, and Shell has everybody in a 5-mile radius beat.

My dad loves the quick food options..... me, I'm still on the fence about gas station food, but I do love those damn raspberry filled donuts they sell by the box! I had to laugh at my original review and update from here, as I mention going into Redbox. When's…read morethe last time I went to a Redbox? Have I really been reviewing things since before Netflix? Was there anything before Netflix? How did life happen before streaming? I'll tell you what I have streamed, and that's a Slurpee (see what I did there?). Why are they good? And by good I mean awful. And by awful, I mean, are they actually good? There's something perfectly nostalgic about a wild cherry Slurpee, and whenever I get a hankering, I come to 7-11. And that's about once every 5 years. Unfortunately, last time I came here they weren't very prepared and I remembered that they have a 7-11 on 7200 now (maybe it's been there forever, I don't really recall) and it seems to be a bit more Slurpee-ready and customer friendly. This spot seems to be a little less shiny and a little less cared for, but there are far worse in the area, so it's a suitable SEV if you need one.
