It took weeks and countless visits to the bank, but she never gave up. Thanks to her persistence, my boat is now listed on the JD Power website, ensuring that anyone with the same vessel won't have to face the obstacles I did. Before meeting Shonda, I visited the Gibsonton Suncoast branch multiple times and spoke with different bankers who gave me generic answers, either due to lack of knowledge or lack of effort. When I went into the bank a few months ago, the gentleman helping me acted as though I was disturbing him. He was curt and rude. I was asking about having statements sent to my house, as I had already requested it several times. I remained polite and finished my business and left. I then called customer service a couple of months later to make the same request. Today, I called customer service and received a message that my call could not be completed as dialed. 888-999-5887. When I googled more numbers, I called the fraud prevention line. I had to repeat several times that I did not have a card, but I have a loan. She seemed so irritated by my call. She kept repeating that I called the fraud line, which she repeated after asking if she could help me. I asked for the regular customer service number, and guess what number she gave me? we took my 10 year old grandson to learn how to make a money transaction. He had 31.45 with a little over 5 dollars in change. The teller refused to take the coins and made us use a coin counter which took 27 cents of his five dollars in change. not only that, it miscounted his money by a penny. that will add up very quickly. we will be looking for a new credit union. So what my grandson really learned was that banks rip you off and you pay them to take your money. not happening again. read more

I have been with Bank of America for almost 2 decades (still am), but I recently bought a house and had to shop around for a loan. I found that since Suncoast is a credit union, they were able to get me a much lower rate. On top of that the people tend to be rather friendly and I have seen many branches around town so I DJ ave to worry about running all around in rush hour traffic after work just to speak with a representative. Everything in person is great, but they really need to step it up online. Their app is not user friendly and their website is kind of all over the place. Still, if you are looking for good rates and can tolerate sub par tech, this place will work for you. read more

My husband and I have been members of suncoast for over 25 years.. Afew years ago our accounts were hacked and all of our money was taken. That time we got all of our money back ASAP.. Our accounts were hacked this time on May 18, 2019 and every penny to our name was taken and they still have not resolved it.. they have only given us half of our money back and said that it could be 7 to 10 days to get the rest. Whoever hacked our accounts changed our passwords, changed our address, changed our phone numbers and email addresses. We do not feel safe with suncoast and have no confidence in them that this would not happen again and we will be withdrawing all of our money and changing credit unions..i read more

Received sub-par customer service from the teller. She looked at the check I was depositing and rudely asked "is THAT your full name?" I said "that is my FULL legal name, yes, why?" She had my license and it stated the same name. What is so bad about having a hyphenated name? Are you kidding me? I was already ticked off at the previous teller plunking down his closed sign and stalking off when it was my turn to be next. I've been a SCFCU customer for several years now. We had mistakenly been short paying our car loan by a whopping $1.83 per month... Totally our fault. BUT, instead of calling all of our contact numbers or sending us a letter, SSFCU reports this to the credit bureaus and dings my wife's and my credit by 100 points. When called about this, they said "not our fault". I will be ending my relationship as soon as I can, and I will go with a credit union that care enough to call/mail about things like this before killing my credit. A little human touch vs. automated calling would have solved this. All for $1.83/month...nice customer service! read more

Nice branch! Would never know it was here until I looked it up on line. This branch looks much more open than the one I normally go to. Possibly newer than the one I go to as well. There was plenty of parking which is always nice! Very clean on the inside. There was no line which never happens at my normal branch I use. The teller was very nice and quickly completed the transaction I had. Too bad I don't live closer to this branch because I would start using it more. August 14, 2015 I went to this suncoast branch to use their coin counting machine. I walked in with $159.95 cents in coins. I know this because I counted my coins before going to the bank. I put my coins into the machine; the machine started its count. When it was finish counting my counts it stated I had $117.87. Next they calculated 5% of this would go to them. I was shorted approximately $40.00 dollars. Most people when they are using the coin counting machine do not count their counts prior to putting it into the machine, so they don't know exactly how in coins they have, so if they are shorted by the machine they would not realize it. When I complainted to the teller she did try to help me. She demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and I complement her. However, the fact remains my $40.00 was taken from me which I know is gone forever, this is not the first shady thing this bank has done to me. Warning to others don't use the coin counting machine unless you are ready for the lost. read more
