I have been a member since 2009. The complete downward spiral of this credit union has been wide screen to ANY member paying attention. This was a place I have relied upon any time I want to buy a car, motorcycle, or even get a loan for anything!!! I could ALWAYS blindly rely on them! Now any decision is a corporate committee meeting with cold handshakes and shallow apologies. I got married last year and wanted a small loan to help my wife/kid relocate and get all affairs in order. For $2,000 Suncoast declined me. Three days later Wells Fargo said yes. Not only have I never stepped foot in a Wells Fargo - I don't bank there. Then 3 months later Wells Fargo put a cherry on the cake by approving a loan for a new $9600.00 A/C system in March '26. I didn't even bother with Suncoast. In February Suncoast let a Chinese seller rip me off for $42.55 even though I submitted proof my item is STILL in Aiken S.C at the time of this writing. Not only did I not get my item - I watched TWO ENTIRE days of my CCTV footage to submit everything Suncoast needed for a dispute. For the bargain price of $42.55 Suncoast lost my faith and trust. They also earned some new disappointing reviews. They've forgotten what 'credit union' means and become a small hick bank. read more

Husband went to Suncoast Credit Union on Ridge Rd. New Port Richey yesterday to open an account and to purchase CD's due to us just moving to the area. 4 woman behind counter, two people in office, not one customer and it took 15 minutes to get any assistance. Finally man in office came out laughing that he was just coming out to help him, not funny! Suggested my husband speak to the manager so he did, what a joke. Up until approximately 12 days ago, the 2nd factor code that is supposed to be emailed to my email account, takes up to 2 minutes to receive. Prior to that time, it was received within 15 seconds or so. The only fastest way is to get the code via cell. I DO NOT, and WILL NEVER use my cell to do online banking and will not use their mobile app. I only use desktop computer for security reason. When I reported issue to Suncoast - twice they gave me troubleshooting method to resolve issue. NONE work. I find it odd that 2nd factor code being mailed to my email works perfectly fine with 4 other businesses I use. Suncoast needs to come up to par with the coding practices so this issue is resolved once and for all. read more

I've been with this union 30 years, I hate this bank. I had to go through three people to get an answer about a service they offer. one of the " customer service" members hung up on me because she had been quite fir over a minute and I asked her if she was there. My only dealings with this bank is with an auto loan. It has been a horrendous experience since the day I signed up. You have to jump through so many hoops just to make a car payment if you don't bank with them. I started out having to make external transfers which, annoying, but fine. Took 24 hours. Randomly, I set up the transfer, now it takes 7 business days for said transfer to go through from my actual bank to this bank just so I can transfer it again to the loan. Fine, annoying but I worked with it as well as I could and had a few days or 2 day late payments because of the transfer time. This month, I log in to do the usual. OH! WHAT?! ANOTHER HOOP YOU SAY? This one even worse. Now you want my email address and I have to CALL during business hours when I'm usually at work too? Ok, cool. Great. Now you can spam me with more useless junk I have no interest in. Finally get to call in and give my email after the employee struggled to FIND my account cause my phone number apparently doesn't exist and I don't have a ember card" since I don't bank with Suncoast. FINALLY get my account found and email added (then immediately blocked Suncoast on it so I don't get spam). Get told there's another way to make payments with my debit card from my actual bank. Still a pain to do. Car loans with other banks and loan centers have been so much easier and user friendly to those who DON'T WANT TO BANK WITH THEM. Hoping to figure out how to refinance or move this loan to another bank. I don't know of I can do this for another 6 years. read more

As a member for almost a decade, I've seen a steep decline in service quality, particularly over the last few years. The mobile app is consistently glitchy, and interactions with member services are often unhelpful, bordering on rude. My recent attempts to resolve a billing issue--specifically, their site incorrectly showing a due payment after the funds were debited from my account--were met with such poor handling that I was hung up on while asking for clarification. Luckily, I have a great alternative credit union, so I'll be closing my Suncoast accounts. read more

i tried to send money from Suncoast to another institution digitally but discovered Suncoast limits transfers to 1000 or 3000 per week. Otherwise I would have to pay 20 dollars. Suncoast in this matter is not living in the 21st century. read more

They suck. Dont use them. Well 2 months ago I opened an account at Suncoast Credit Union because my old bank sucked (or so I thought). I went to withdraw some of my money at the be done today and the bank is refusing to give me my money. They told me that there's a block or a restriction on my account but they can't tell me why and they can't remove it. So apparently credit unions are just as illegal as banks are. Somebody is not going to like me Monday when I end up face-to-face at the credit union to close my account and withdraw all of my cash. I'm the meantime, I'm filing a report with the NCAU and CFPB. This is the worst bank I've ever dealt with. It took 18 months and over 5 hours to confirm that my USAA auto insurance was covered on my loan. I'm so angry I can't even type out the whole story of my experience, but I had to make multiple calls and emails to prove myself. If you can avoid this bank, do so at all costs. I understand that I have a loan through them, but once it is paid off, I will never do business with them again. If you can, please do yourself a favor and use USAA. Suncoast Credit Union is paired with a business Imcovered which is "an innovation by SWBC." And they are in the business of scamming people out of bloated premiums from force-placed insurance. You see, when you have had a policy from a reputable homeowners insurance company for almost a decade and you decide to embark on a HELOC loan through SCU what they don't describe in their underwriting process that despite a week for the loan specialist to confirm in fact we did have a policy they leave out under emphasize if you don't send a copy of the same policy now designating SCU as a second mortgage holder then Imcovered will purchase "insurance" on your behalf without doing any other action. This insurance is subpar, covers nothing. Sweet gig and very little overhead because their website is non-operational (I've recorded the process). And the best part is SCU doesn't return phone calls during business hours. Oh and I forgot to mention SWBC is known for this; kickbacks and predatory practices involving force-placed insurance. I have been a member of this bank for 36yrs. i have never ask for a loan from this bank. I put my money in this bank every week and I have never got more then pennies in dividend for my money to set in this bank. I apply for a loan thinking I wound get a good rate because I'm a member. Boy was I wrong, they wanted to give me 8.5% on a boat loan, then I looked at a cheaper boat but older. Then they wanted to up the interest to 10.5% for the loan. I was fortunate enough to locate Suncoast Credit Union and the services I have experienced are wonderful. Jaelyn Moss, Member Advocate at the time who has now been moved into a different position, was the first representative I met with. Not only did Ms. Moss demonstrate professionalism, she provided the utmost customer service. Ms. Moss walked me through each step of opening a new account, transferring my funds, setting my password and created a feeling of welcoming that made me believe my working with Suncoast was the correct choice. Not every credit union or bank operates the same way, however, all of the representatives of Suncoast provide one-to-one interaction making a member feel that they are more than just a bank account. Worst credit union I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. They "lost" my bill pay for my credit account, that I have been paying for the past 4 years. Then refused to inform me of this by mail, phone, or text. This resulted in a negative mark on my credit score. I gave them the ACH trace number from NOVEMBER. They appear to hate their members. They will not respond to written correspondence, demanding all your interaction come through tiny text boxes on their website, responses from which are anonymous, of course. They will not facilitate VISA disputes, however rarely you need to make one. Then they will terminate all your access to your accounts, including your VISA account, with neither cause, nor notice, on a Saturday morning at the start of a holiday weekend. My checking account with Suncoast Credit Union was hacked and overdrawn by more than $1,000 . After being on the phone for several days with several different people in Risk Management I was made aware that I would still be responsible for the fraudulent charges . They will not allow me to pay the fraudulent charges and close out the account . They told me that my account is under review and if it took more than 90 days for the review to be completed that it would be turned over to collections . I recently had a complex issue with depositing a check from my trust. It was extremely time sensitive. Inelda from the South Naples Service Center came to the rescue. This woman is a "rockstar". For two days she stayed engaged and available to find the solution and make it happen. I went to three other banks who couldn't even meet with me until the following week. 03/24/2023_ My review dates back to Feb 2023 when I responded to a 'request' for more info on my 'Dispute'. I sent multiple copies of 'emails' between myself and 'Seller'. A few days ago I open my mail from Cr-Union only to be disappointed with what they were telling me. They commented that They Did-Not-Receive the information they requested from me on my "Dispute". I know for a FACT that I had put into a Large White Envelope most of the correspondence between myself/seller & Tracking Company. Some copies were repeats as you know how emails combine replies. They are not open at all on Saturdays or customer call center. On hold after waiting 20 minutes and still on hold as I'm texting this! Not happy at all. Took out a car loan. I do all my bill paying online. But to make a principal only payment in addition to my regular payment, I have to call it in. Can't do it online. Now that doesn't sound so bad, even though no one I have ever done business with online has the same requirement. But, to get to talk to someone without having to input every number I own to identify myself (exaggeration), is an incredible inconvenience. Not only that, it keeps asking for my pin number. I have no idea what it is so I have to keep hitting a zero to get more options. In addition, the web site will not open unless I disable my VPN. Doesn't matter what city or state I have it set to. They defeat the whole purpose of the security of a VPN. They claim they've updated their systems to make everything more customer friendly. LOL! That is as far from the truth as heaven is to hell. If you are doing anything other than depositing money, this organization is not customer friendly in the least. Stay away. I have several personal accounts and one business account with these people. Suncoast lost a vehicle loan because no one replied I bought a new car last week and tried to go through Suncoast for my auto loan. I have three accounts and a personal loan through Suncoast and so far, have been very happy. Until now.. I was going to get pre-approved, but the car dealership wouldn't take your "voucher" and told me I could apply there for my Suncoast loan, which I did. We waited over THREE HOURS and by the time we left, we still had never received a reply regarding the loan request. Wound up getting the loan through Truist.because we couldn't wait any longer. Today is the day that I never bank with Suncoast credit union again for one I had thank you for years and years I'm so frustrated and angry right now it's hard for me to type. My hands are shaking for one I've applied for loans through you people multiple times always denied always, I have two signature loans out with you. One had to be overridden especially given to me by a branch manager name Linda, the second one I had to get a cosigner my father now for months I've been having issues with my debit card I've had to have 14 cards in six months 21 disputes 14 cards I have an ex girlfriend that has been robbing me blind so I missing about $2000 out of my accounts right now and because I've begun civil action and I have Brock I've got a case number 31 Fort Smith the dispute department will not give me my money back, so I lost thousands of dollars because of their negligence and I have no money zero dollars right now. I have a phone bill that's due. I have the car insurance that's due. I have a quarter tank of gas in my car and I don't have a dime to my name. I have no food I called to get $1500 added on to that loan that I've already got that I have not missed one payment it has not been late ever. Which my credit score now is better than it was back in November when I got the original loan, they still denied me. These people have left me with nothing. I have nothing my phones about to be shut off my car insurance going to get going to abs and I have a quarter tank of gas in my car which is not enough to do a thing. I don't know what else to do because people are going to starve me to death because they continuously allow a $765 Amazon charge to my account and then just let it ride through where the delivery was in Georgia explain that to me a $765 charge on Amazon went right through no problem but two weeks ago I made a $24 charge on Amazon. I was out of town when I did it, they shut my card off. They didn't call nothing. They shut my car off while I'm in another city and I had no access to a bank. It was Saturday evening. Go figure nobody's there ever and I'm staying I was stuck in another city with no access to my money, and now again, they make a mistake and I'm suffering and I had to pay the consequences for work. I have to start because of it and then they had the nerve to write me an email telling me they might revoke my car privileges because they can't figure out what's an actual charge and what fraud is. You people have hurt me for the last time I do I'm literally sitting here in my car shaking. I have nothing because of you. Nothing not a dime, so thank you so much for allowing for one a woman to repeatedly steal my money after I told you and told you and told you obviously 14 cards in six months there's a problem I had to go in because I had a wire transfer from when I sold my home of $28,000 just last month, do you know how much of that is gone because of this I created a whole Nother account but instead of actually making it a different account they just change the one letter and kept it on the same account with everything else instead of 50 now it's 51 and guess what it didn't work every month I had to repeatedly call Lynn about these reoccurring charges that they just they never go away. They never go away and now they won't even fix it. No, I'm just stuck paying for something I don't use for something I've never authorized to use, but I have to pay for it now because they can't figure out what they need to do, at this point I almost I would like to consider legal action but I can't go to Lawyer because he's got somebody steal my money. I've never been subjected to so many freezes on my account, while at the merchant, looking like a fool because my account was flagged as potentially fraudulent, and my payment didn't go through. I often receive a text message immediately, and a phone call, but it isn't consistent. I've never been able to resolve the flag while still at the merchant, and a couple of times, I've even had to call CS to find out the issue, when I'm aware of my balance. BECAUSE THEIR NOTIFICATIONS VIA TEXT AND PHONE DON'T ALWAYS COME IN TIME!! Today, I received an email that my online access was restricted for 6 MONTHS because of their incorrect belief that transactions I initiated were fraudulent. 6th or 7th time since July 2023 I have had to go through the panic and get things straightened out. SUNCOAST CREDIT UNION IS ABSOLUTELY AWEFUL! I've been a member since the early 1980s and whatever loans I took out (student, auto, etc), I paid them off; no missed payments; no late fees, no problems. I've also had a credit card with them for about as long as I was a member. I paid my credit debt every month FOR YEARS and never occurred late fees or interest payments. In the summer of 2021, after an extended lay off due to health issues, I was living off my Suncoast credit card and for a few months and started missing payments. I didn't contact them until it was too late (MY FAULT, I OWN IT) and they charged off my credit to a collection agency and cut off my services. As soon as I found out, I IMMEDIATEY set up a payment plan with the collection agency and began making what little money I had in payments. Suncoast proceeded to lift all my restrictions and everything was fine. Today, I called because they recently put a ridiculous restriction on my account (CAN'T DEPOST CHECKS VIA THE APP). They have no problems accept my automatic payroll deposits, but any other checks I need to deposit, I have to do it at THEIR branch ATMS. When I called them, the thinking it was a mistake, the customer service rep stated the restriction was placed on my account because I had not yet paid off my debt THEY ALREADY SOLD to a collection agency. THE CR also stated that if the collection agency offered me a settlement and I accepted it, they would CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP, REPORT ME TO THE CREDIT BUREAU AND AGAIN CUT ME OFF FROM OF ALL SERVICES. After DECADES of being a member in good standing other than four months of my life, THEY REFUSE TO LET ME SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR OR PERSON WITH POWER. I've attempted to resolve the issue by going into a branch (South Manhattan Ave, Tampa) and the "customer relations" dude was THE WORSE; EXTREMELY RUDE; NO EMPATHY; NO OFFER OTHER THAN TO CALL THE SAME DEPARTMENT that keeps me on hold for minutes at a time, then goes to some random voicemail. The Suncoast Credit Union was once a family orientated, consumer friendly institution. Now they are just life EVERY OTHER PREDATORY, RUTHLESS FINANCIAL ORGANIZATION. read more
