Literally the worst bank I have ever experienced. It is always something. There are always hurdles. I can't get logged in it wont let me reset password. I have tried multiple times. Now I am locked out. I waited on the phone for an hour and a half then the music just stopped. Try to call back and now it can't be completed as dialed. I opened an account online following an ad on Facebook. I chosed Suncoast Online because of the convince of do business on the Application because the closest branch is far away from my home. I deposited money on my new account and suddenly they just blocked and frozed my account. I contacted customer service phone number,they were rude and they told me, I have to go in person to their branch in order to my account be available again.I had the feeling of being treated like someone who was doing something illegal. Now my account still blocked and frozed. Be aware if you have plans to open an account with SunCoast, your money may be blocked when you most needed. Their NCR ATM's are the slowest and most unreliable ATM's I have ever used. The old ATM's work 100% better and rarely malfunctioned. I have been complaining about the issue for over a year and they completely ignore my and others concerns. Also they are usually under staffed at the teller windows inside. Sometime with only 1 teller with a line of customers out the door. I'm getting really sick and tired of this. They used to be a great CU to work with. I received a letter from Suncoast stating that my membership is inactive after being a member for years. I called and spoke with "TAY". He explained the number on their letter was incomplete. Apparently the deposit I made using the incomplete number Suncoast sent me is lost. I cancelled my membership and requested a check for the balance of my account. read more

This is the worst Credit Union I've ever had to work with. There was a fraudulent charge on my account from a random electrical company that myself and my fiancé don't even use that was charged to the Savings account that they forced me to open with them when I got a car loan from them. I called to ask what happened and to inform them that I did not make that payment nor do I use this account for literally anything but to have a car loan from them. The lady I spoke to blamed the fraudulent charge on me and told me I obviously messed up and used this account to pay my electric bill. It wasn't even the company we use for electricity and my fiancé pays the electric bill with his PNC bank. I will be refinancing my auto loan with Additional Financial. I had my old car loan with them for 7 years and never had any fraudulent activity nor such cruel and terrible customer service that I've experienced from Suncoast after just 3 months! read more

When my car got totaled , the process communicating between my insurance company and Suncoast very frustrating. There was a lot of miscommunication going on because Suncoast was not clear of what was needed and how their processes are done. Making online payments have been very frustrating too . They need to make it easier to use the app instead of having to log on to the computer browser website and being able to make multiple payments in a month is not easy as well. For someone needing a basic loan and checking account from them, go for it but otherwise , I'm looking forward to ending my membership. read more

I've been a member for 10 years. Recently they changed over to an atm type teller. I walked in today to withdrawal some cash and ask a question about the account options as I recently graduated medical school and my income is improving. A middle aged blond woman came up from the back and asked how she could help. I told her and she directed me to the atm teller. As I wanted to discuss to considerable increase in my income and account options I said the atm teller was a bit impersonal for that and I would prefer to speak with someone in person. She rudely spoke over me and directed me to the atm teller. I just spoke to my wife and we will not be using them moving forward. Their loss as I suspect my monthly deposits would of greatly benefitted the bank. Poor customer service. read more

BILL PAY changes are HORRIBLE I have been a member of suncoast for almost 20 years. I have always been pleased with most of the services...wait time on the phone is rediculous, but thankfully I don't have to call often. What a disappointment. As a client for less than six months I am encountering the same problem for the second time. I am not receiving my monthly statements. The representatives I have talked to on the phone insist everything is correct on their end and it must be the fault of the postal service. Oddly the first time this happened and I called to request my statements, they did mail the two statements I never received. Mailed them to the same address and that time the statements came through. Other stuff they mail about car sales etc. arrive just fine as well. When I realized the problem was back I called again. Same response. It all looks good on our end. Must be the postal service. Now I worry where my financial statements are going and who is receiving my personal information since it isn't me. And I wonder why it is so hard for this problem to get resolved. Their response? Last conversation I was told everything was in order and the payment would be made within two weeks. I call back in two weeks and they tell me I'm missing a signature. 1. I moved to Florida, and opened my account there in 2018. I soon thereafter had health issues, and finally moved to a different city in Florida in 2019. Then COVID hit, and again I did not access my account. Little did I know that they would charge a dormant fee on deposit accounts. I finally got back to them here in July 2022, and found out Suncoast had been deducting $25 per year after two years, calling my account dormant (yet still adding paltry earnings to the account), which would seem to make it not dormant. What burns me up is there was never any contact from them to inform me my account was to be declared dormant and I would be charged. I closed the account, and will stay with my original credit union out of state! I cannot recommend a banking institution that falls flat on customer service. SHAME on Suncoast. read more

Yet another bad experiece with Suncoast - I have a personal and business account with them and my personal account is rarely used, if ever. An old autodraft someone hit my personal and overdrafted that account - the bank never made any attempt to call me because they said the telephone number was not on my personal account, yet they had it under my business account. Common sense people - I called and the customer service person overtalked me and their only concern was the win the argument. Shame shame shame Stay away from this bank people. We closed an account here because we moved out of state. A former employer then mistakenly processed a direct deposit into the account. This apparently re-opened the account. Since we no longer had direct access to the account, we could not get the money. We called and got nowhere. SCSFCU then started charging us $25 inactivity fees! Once the account dropped below $100, they started charging us $5 fees! They should have never reopened the account and they should have sent us our money right away. Instead, SCSFCU continued to STEAL from us until there was nothing left! BEWARE OF THIS FINANCIAL INSTITUTION!!!!!! read more

Ive been a member with them since i got my car loan a couple years ago. When i first got it i was shocked to discover that they only had a couple locations (all far from me) and they had no way to pay bills online. Not having a checkbook myself to mail payments nor wanting to drive 30+ mins to give them my payments i was left with calling them to pay. However each call is 8 dollars. (one hell of a connivence fee) Fast forward a couple years and a couple hundred dollars in fees one of the employees recently filled me in that made an online system. Come to find out its more convoluted than expected and has been an absolute hassle to set up (still currently struggling.) Overall ive really been unsatisfied with all the round about ways to pay and fees. Just take my money. Is it that hard? read more

I am 63 years old. I have used this credit union since I was in my 20's. Over the years I've watched their service decline to the point where I have made the decision to transfer all of my accounts - and they are substantial - to another bank. My mortgage is with this credit union however I've become so disgusted with their mistakes and rude customer service that I will also refinance the house with another institution. I recently bought a new vehicle. Rather than trust this credit union I went out of my way to finance it elsewhere. I would advise anyone looking to open an account to carefully consider other institutions before choosing this One. My sons' father passed in May 2020, and they were the beneficiaries. I was told bring in death certificate and funds will be transferred to their accounts. NOT! Since he had an auto loan, it needed to be paid in full BEFORE the funds could be transferred. Not one CSR informed me of this until I was at the bank ready to close the deceased accounts. BUT Suncoast was willing to have me pay for the car out of my funds. As of today, June 22, I'm still trying to get resolved and still having to jump thru hoops or red tape. Where's the customer service and going beyond to assist during a tragic time and ease the pain of loss? Suncoast has handled this AWFULLY with too many hands in the pot with none willing to make a decision. So tired of the nonsense and found a new bank that will be happy to have my money to invest and has the customer service that all banks should have. I own a small transport company and have been trying to get a loan through this bank for close to a year! They have no idea what they are doing and at this point have just outright ignored my emails to talk with someone. It took them over 3 MONTHS to get me a business credit card! And every time I actually get to speak with someone about what their loan parameters they have no idea what they're talking about! They spend more on commercials stating that they want to help small businesses, than they do spending that money on a qualified staff. They have no idea what they are doing. I've already been working with Achieva for a commercial loan and they have made Suncoast look like kindergartners in the commercial lending industry. I will be moving my business accounts to another bank soon and closing my accounts with Suncoast. Incompetence is the last thing you need in order to be productive as a business, and unfortunately Suncoast Commercial department has only been able to offer just that... Incompetence. If you are a business owner who wants to work with a local bank go with Achieva, Grow or even GTE federal credit union. Stay away from Suncoast credit union! I applied for a Home Equity Line of Credit through this bank in August of 2015. The agent I was dealing with apparently quit and no one bothered to handle his applications. I had to call repeatedly to get them to process the application, and finally closed in November. During this, they repeatedly called to demand I produce documentation that a typical processor is supposed to pull (having done the job myself for 5 years), such as death certificates, deeds, etc. Then they came to the conclusion that I did not legally own the home. After producing all of the Trust documents and deeds that showed I do legally own the home, they waited until the day of closing to inform me that they needed my grandparents and mother present to sign at the closing. My grandparents were deceased, but they would know that if they had looked at the documents. Then they wanted my mother to sign on the loan because she was the executor of my grandparents Trust...um, no! She did have to come to the closing and sign an affidavit that basically backed up all of the documents I provided. I have no idea why I didn't see all of the red flags!! Immediately after getting the loan, I used it for renovations on the home which included windows, doors, drywall, and plumbing. I have a compromised immune system and could not be around the dust and mildew being stirred up, so I moved in with my boyfriend until I could safely return home. This had always been the plan and had been discussed with several of the staff at Suncoast during the application/closing process; but as soon as I forwarded my mail, they shut down the account and sent me a letter informing me that I had violated the terms and the amount was now due back in full!!!! It is now 2020 and their games have not stopped, nor has their service improved. I also end up with fraudulent charges frequently, as do all of the members of my family still doing business with this bank - I almost think they're selling the data themselves. I desperately need to get away from this bank, but health and financial issues are making it difficult to refinance to the loan. They still occasionally send me lettered informing me that my home is not insured and they are going to make me buy their coverage. I've had the same policy on the home since I acquired it. I also cannot view my payment/transaction history for that account and they won't respond to my messages. I just cannot handle the stress and financial burden they continue to put on me. read more

This is the worst bank ever. We bought a car at NPR Hyundai, and the loan was through Suncoast. Suncoast immediately put a lock on our account preventing us from making payment because, according to Suncoast, there was a Fraud flag on our account. It took two weeks to get an explanation from Suncoast on what the Fraud flag was. Turns out, Suncoast did a follow up credit report and misspelled our address by 1 letter. This triggered a Fraud flag, and locked us out. I went into the branch and tried to get them to unlock the account, and make a payment manually, and they said they could access the account until the fraud was resolved. They said the only way to resolve the fraud was to bring in a copy of a utility bill and an original social security card. So we went to the Social Security Office on Drew St and ordered new cards (since we dont have originals). It took 3 weeks to get the cards. Suncoast said they would waive any late fees. When we finally got the account unlocked, we were hit with late charges and a credit report. This was all Suncoast errors, lies and poor customer services. I am still fighting to get this cleared up. We had mistakenly been short paying our car loan by a whopping $1.83 per month... Totally our fault. BUT, instead of calling all of our contact numbers or sending us a letter, SSFCU reports this to the credit bureaus and dings my wife's and my credit by 100 points. When called about this, they said "not our fault". I will be ending my relationship as soon as I can, and I will go with a credit union that care enough to call/mail about things like this before killing my credit. A little human touch vs. automated calling would have solved this. All for $1.83/month...nice customer service! read more

Brooksville, FL location. My debit card was skimmed for $495 at a Pilot Fuel station (at SR326 in Ocala) the other day. I still had my card, so I know it was copied and used. Lesson learned. Anyway....I reported it on Saturday, card was disabled immediately. I called Monday morning (I wish I could remember the woman's name) and the woman was so nice, so reassuring, gave me some great advice, wanted to know if I needed any funds immediately (I didn't), and assured me that the money will be back in, but to give them up to 72 hours. I then went to the bank when I got off work and, voila...have a new card already. The employees are the best!! The credit union is the best!! Glad I switched to Suncoast!!! read more

Applied for a loan at another bank for a house. We couldnt get the rate we deserved because of a late credit card payment. Ive never been late on a payment in my life so I called them and sat on hold for 40 mins. One I spoke to loss mitigation all he could tell me is basically a time period that I missed a payment. Not the month, a period of time. He said we have two missed payments, the other he said he cant see where I missed but wouldnt do anything to find it or attempt to make thing right. Instead of calling a good customer of 10 years and letting them know they didnt get my payment, they dinged my perfect credit twice and only can prove that I was late once and ruined my chances of buying this house. The only good thing I can say is the employees are very nice and try to be helpful as they can. Always understaffed and overcrowded with less than typical old "bankers hours". Never operational at all on weekends; even their electronic transfers take the weekends off. Expect to require taking off a full day to get anything done there. Their customer service is outsources to India, while they claim to try to protect personal data (after numerous breaches over the years), random people in other countries have access to all of it. Due to this, I am now completely locked out of my accounts & cannot even close them. Their incompetence has effectively stolen my money & there is "Nothing they can do". read more
