When the technician arrived, one of the first things he asked my mom was how she was going to pay. He then told her that he would not do the work unless she showed him some form of payment. My mom showed him the card she planned to use. I found this extremely uncomfortable and honestly a little offensive. We would not schedule an appointment to have work done if we did not have the money to pay for it. Since this happened on a Friday evening, I called the company and left a voicemail. I did receive a call first thing Monday morning from Addy, who has always been very nice and professional with us. I asked her directly about what happened, and she explained that this is how the company conducts business because they have had customers schedule appointments, have the work completed, and then not pay. She said that customers are asked to show proof of payment when the technician arrives. I thanked her for explaining and hung up. But afterward, I couldn't stop thinking about the situation. I wondered whether we would have been treated the same way if my parents lived in The Villages or in a large, expensive home. I also couldn't help but wonder whether our last name being Perez played any part in how we were approached. I understand that a business needs to protect itself from customers who don't pay. However, there are professional ways to establish payment policies before sending a technician to someone's home. If proof of payment is required from every customer, that should be clearly explained when the appointment is scheduled--not when a technician is already standing inside an elderly customer's home telling her he will not perform the work until she proves she can pay. After being loyal customers for years, the interaction left me disappointed and questioning whether we should continue doing business with this company. It probably won't make much of a difference to the company whether we choose to come back or not, but I still felt this experience was worth mentioning. Sometimes the way a policy is communicated and handled can make just as much of an impression as the service itself.

Saturday morning, I was told that his machine had broken down and that he was trying to borrow one from a friend. I understood that unexpected issues happen and appreciated the update. He then confirmed he would come Sunday instead. Sunday came, and he never showed up. I reached out to ask if he was still coming, but I never received a response.What makes this especially frustrating is that I had three other insured companies ready to do the job, some for less money. I turned them down because I believe in honoring my commitments once I've made an agreement. Unfortunately, that same respect was not returned. Because he failed to show up and stopped communicating, I had to explain the situation to my tenants after I had already told them the tree would be removed over the weekend. It made me look unreliable through no fault of my own, and now I'm spending my Monday scrambling during work to find another contractor to do a job that should have been completed days ago. As a business owner myself, I understand that equipment breaks and plans change. Please tell me why the lady did not check the numbers under where the security system was, did not check the keys to fit in the car door because there is only one key entry. Then she made the key just to crank the car.I left and went on with my day and I got out of the car locked it. I used the same key she made and it wouldn't fit the door key entry. I got locked out of my car. I dealt with Mobile Locksmith before Thank you for checking the numbers, making sure my key fit the door and cranks my car. I have dealt with the company for years and I appreciate them and recommend them to anyone. The key on the right was made by AA Lock Doc & Security and the key left was made by Mobile Locksmith. I opted for no key fob due to cost and he was able to give me a key that does it all. Also, the numbers she had I gave the phone to the locksmith and he clearly had different numbers than hers. I did bring her the key and she looked at the key and said I cut it correctly so it's the key fob. No ma'am you did not check the numbers nor the door key entry to the car. She refused to give me back my $69.88 after she stated I can over the phone. I drove 45 min and really just wanted to not do the drive. Long story short!
