I recently needed to get the concrete in our backyard repaired as it was starting to get hairline cracks (and larger) due to settling. I did not want the issues to continue to get worse so looked at local concrete repair companies and came across Suncoat of Texas. I filled out the consultation/estimate request on their website (suncoatoftexas.com) and they promptly followed up with a call to schedule an on-site appointment. They showed up at the scheduled time and I was able to meet with the owner, Daniel Pinkerton, and he gave me a thorough overview of his process and recommendations. He provided a quote and I believe it was very fair based on the scope of the project so we moved forward. They showed up at the scheduled time and the project took days 3 (one extra day for inclement weather) and cannot be happier with the work. They addressed all the cracks, added additional scoring, and resurfaced all the concrete (i.e. patio, pool decking, and pavilion). The surface of the concrete not only looks better but is now much cooler so you can walk barefoot which is a nice bonus. Lastly, the office manager, Randa, texted/called every morning to let me know the schedule and what to expect for the day. I appreciate this communication and transparency. Suncoat of Texas does it again! We first used them back in 2020 and we have never regretted our decision! Quite the opposite! For the last 3 years, our backyard patio has retained it's beautiful look and quality since we first coated it. For me, the attention to detail and their self-evaluation process post-work stands out the most and is what I appreciate the most about their quality of work. They take pride in what they do and make sure it's done right to a top notch standard. Back in 2020, we initially called them because I had accidentally damaged our patio extension pretty badly. I left a spray pump with acid wash on top of our patio without realizing I didn't tighten one of the nozzles well, and the next morning found a huge, runny, acid stain that ate away at our concrete in the shape of an orangey-toned raven! Needless to say, I was super upset and we needed a way to fix this. Suncoat told me the textured coating would cover the stain damage, which it did beautifully. No more weird damage/stain! Also, they took off the skimcoat of our existing patio 9x8 slab that came with the house before putting on the new coat on top. And since the same textured coating color would be applied to both pieces of our concrete patio, it would finally make our entire patio one color. They also put a thin coating over all the edges and sides of our patio, to make everything look uniform. The thickness of the coating ended up being about a 1/2" - 3/4" thick, which is perfect and looked beautiful We loved their service so much, we asked them to reseal our patio again last month, as it was due for maintenance. As a heads up, you will most likely need resurfacing in another 3 years. And this is normal with any concrete coating service you choose, whether Suncoat or someone else. Weather, wear and tear, you will need to reseal. Trust me, it's worth it! The team came out again last month to first survey our current patio's condition being 3 years old and made sure they were able to see cracks, imperfections, marker stains from our children, etc. We brought up the fact there were washable marker stains we bought from Amazon that our children used on the patio that didn't wash out well. They took the time to understand what the product was and took that feedback to their team, so they could understand how to prevent this in the future. They told us that although their surface coating is resilient to washable marker stains, the fact that we had left it on there for an extended period of time without intentionally scrubbing it off with concrete cleaner, is most likely why our stains remained. So bear in mind, like any other type of surface coating, because the material is porous, you have to still use appropriate concrete cleaner, and be careful about leaving any liquid with coloring on your coating for extended periods of time. They assured us, they would first do an acid wash, then re-seal the coating, which would cover up any stains or imperfections again, and it did! Walking on the surface after the re-seal, it feels just like the first time we had it done - very high quality, hides any kind of dirt or debris on your patio much better because of the textured look, and is also MUCH cooler to walk on than my original concrete, even in 100-degree plus heat with direct sun. Beautiful color and attention to detail, applying resurfacing material down the sides of the concrete to the grass! We were out on vacation when they did the resurfacing, and even while we were on vacation, they came back after the first 24 hours they put down the coating to ensure they did a good job! Suncoat of Texas just completed another excellent job on my driveway and patio in Sun City Texas. First used their services in 2019 to apply a decorative/protective coating to my driveway and front patio. The results were/are fantastic! Used Suncoat again in 2022 to apply a decorative/protective coating to my new back patio, and also to power wash my driveway and front patio area. Again another excellent job! And in May 2025, just finished a power wash and touch-up of my driveway, front patio, and back patio. The results were fantastic once again. Called for an estimate and they scheduled it. Guy came 2 hours earlier than the scheduled time, but luckily I was home. Strike one. He did a walk-through and we discussed epoxy on the garage floor. We also discussed covering the patios, but he said epoxy wasn't a good idea, so we agreed not to do the patios. He left and said he would send me an estimate. One week later and still no email with an estimate. I had to call to ask them to send it to me. Strike two. When I received it, he had given me an estimate that included the garage and the front patio (which we had both agreed shouldn't be done). So I called again, asking for him to send me a revised estimate without the front patio. It's been over a week and I haven't received a new estimate. Strike three. Our experience with Suncoat of Texas was stellar. We fired another company after paying a deposit and waiting 3 months with very little in the way of email replies and experiencing repeated delays. I'm so thankful I found Suncoat on a google search. I called and the owner Daniel came out the next day and offered a quote on the spot after giving us recommendations on which surface would hold up the best and look the best in our particular situation (cracked cement patio). Only 10 days later (including a rain delay where the staff kept us in the loop at all times) our porches and patios were refinished and looking wonderful. This company uses their own employees and does not use sub-contractors. They were prompt, and wrapped our house up like a present with paper to protect windows and shrubs.
