Unfortunately I cannot and would not recommend this company. Aside from bailing out in the middle of the job, the work done pouring of a concrete patio around pool is one of the worst jobs I've seen. My home has 50 year old concrete that still looks better than this month old job. Immediately it was discolored and I was told why does it matter I'm going to walk on it and use it anyway. Such a poor response. In addition, they left chunks of concrete on the patio and when they cleaned that up I now have divots. And drip marks all over the turn down wall. And when I reached out about needing them to fix some of these issues I was met with silence I guess because the backed out of the rest of the job. They felt they had no need to respond. This is based upon our experience with an uncompleted project. Ricardo was hired to help with xeriscaping my backyard October 2017. I gave him the layout with measurements and he provided a quote. He worked 5 days the first week and came back the week before Thanksgiving to complete out the rest. After a week, I noticed that the lines of the metal stakes where the retaining walls were going in were off centered and leaned to the right. I measured this and it was off of the house by 4 feet. I requested Ricardo to address and fix this issue, however, he was not happy and kept on moving forward. After the 3rd week, I requested a civil engineer (with 30 years experience) to come out to inspect the metal walls and he explained to me that none of the measurements were done correctly by Ricardo as well as the reinforcements were not up to code (all the dirt within was pushing against the metal walls and bulging out). I have requested Ricardo provide the invoices for all the materials that he has purchased for us and we haven't received any to this date. I am not one to post a bad review, especially for a small business, but I have to be honest with my experience and it was not a good one. I was willing to work with Ricardo to have him fix the metal edging and retaining wall, but he walked. He promised to come back and fix my front yard that was damaged from the tractor, but never did. Ricardo lacks the knowledge and experience for bigger projects. I highly advise against him. Anyone interested, please contact me and I will share pictures of his work. All the metal walls were not measured per the plans we gave him. Instead of a 20'x15' mulch bed, he gave us a 16'x16'. Where a 30 long 2 ft steel wall was supposed to be, he only put a 26' long wall. I gave these guys a call earlier this week to install some pavers in my backyard. The job required moving sand in as well as just the general installation. It was mentioned they were booked for quite awhile, but were able to get this done on a weekend. They showed up at the time promised and got to work. It rained pretty heavy that night and there was a couple of things to correct the next day. Everything was taken care of and the work looks good to me. Ricardo came out to my house 11 days ago to assess the requirements for my project. When I walked out to meet with him, I was wearing a mask, but he was not. Seems a bit disrespectful to come out to a prospective customer's house without a mask. I kept my mask on for the entire discussion, but he never picked up on this. I had a nicely stacked wall. He was supposed to mortor it together. Instead he ruined it, cracking all the big rocks on purpose, and left it a curvy thin half finished mess when he moved away. He didn't even clean up and left rocks all over the yard. I have held off writing this review to allow Ricardo time to contact me so we could discuss correcting the stone walkway his crew completed for me late last summer and which began to deteriorate by early November. We had a time set up to meet however apparently he became ill. Since that time he has not bothered to return my calls or texts. The foundation for the walkway was not properly prepped prior to placing the stones and has since collapsed into a large hole creating a safety hazard. The stonework covers the majority of my small yard therefore avoiding it is not possible, besides being an eye sore. In addition, it was not leveled properly so when it rains there are large pools of water that accumulate with no where for it to run off which adds to the problem. I will now have to have someone else come out and correct this sloppy work. I strongly suggest if you are looking for someone, that you do not use SOS Masonry and Landscaping. read more
