Horrible! I used to be proud of this nursing facility and…read morerecommended it as great care and loving staff but the greed of the newest Owner's show. Almost every awesome staff member who had a heart has left. The Government Medical System at work. They took hiring out of the facilities hands and Gov agencies stepped in and recked it. They hire young people who do not have the skills to do what is best for the elderly and it shows but end up paying 3 times because they are hired outside through a third party. They have $$$$ for boxes upon boxes of stupid bears and blankets piled high encompassing the receptionist area to be given to newcomers. People don't want a blanket or bear from China. WE WANT THE CARE OUR LOVED ONES DESERVE! The good ones are so understaffed, overworked, way underpaid and the young ones don't have the heart to be here, it's just a paycheck attitude. Pay the good caring ones their worth. Instead, hours are cut and while others do the job of three people. They are the ones who have a heart for this job. Sadly, today my heart finally broke as I visited... ceiling tiles soaked and falling down, makeshift drainage buckets with tubing from the ceiling, light fixtures puddling with water and there is so much mold in the ceiling of the patients' rooms and everywhere!!! THIS IS A HEALTH HAZZARD TIMES TEN... AND THIS IS WHAT THEY THINK IS A WELCOMING NURSING FACILITY FOR OUR LOVED ONES TO BE CARED FOR. To Whom It May Concern, Please Higher a Damn Professional Plumber, Electrician and HVAC Company to finally fix something. SPEND THE MONEY. I am posting photo's hoping something gets done!!! I can no longer remain quiet. IF NOT ME THEN WHO? IF NOT NOW THEN WHEN? I AM THE ADVOCATE FOR THOSE WHO CAN NOT SPEAK. I am praying that the situation will be taken care of immediately. People over money! Would you want your loved ones living like this? I doubt it. Thank you. Stacey P.

This place is horrific. I hate the fact that my grandfather spent his last years here, but with the difficulty of finding good nursing homes, I opted for one only minutes from home. This place is atrocious. I complained to the state ombudsman a few times but he was useless. Had to call the police when I found out they found my 97 yo with dementia outside laying on the shrubs. I didn't find out until the evening. When I called the police, even they were infuriated with the lack of care and answers they received from the staff. Food? NON EXISTENT. If you care for your loved one, stop by for dinner and check out their plates with cold vegetables. Lack of food, cold food, laundry that sits around urinated until you fight and complain. Have you tried calling after 630 pm to reach your loved one? Good luck. What about visiting after 6pm and the door wide open with NO ONE at the desk. Anyone can walk in there at night. Don't believe it? Test my theories for yourself. Sadly it doesn't matter if you complain to the city, their inspectors do the very minimal when it comes to nursing homes. This place needs to close and so does its parent company that manages over 14 nursing homes. It's a money business that's all. To add insult to injury - did you know that they charge Medicare and Medicaid nearly $13,000 a month for this tragedy? Worth it if they were providing the care - not for what they are providing. One night nurse for 20 patients ?? (I'm sure they will deny it now). Our seniors deserve better than this. Princess Anne could care less. With over $35,000 in federal fines, countless complaints, multiple citations for neglect, poor supervision, and repeated failures to correct the issues. The physical and occupational therapy department was great! No complaints with any of their staff and one of the Unit Managers who tried to address our concerns. The majority of the nursing staff we encountered were uncaring and unprofessional. The food was horrendous, inconsistent and visually disgusting. I brought my mother food every day because it was that bad. The Huddle House (walking distance from facility) staff were well aware of the bad food because they do a large volume of to-go orders for patients. Mom's medications were not given to her in a timely manner, showers were not given on schedule, mom was told by a staff member they would not be at her beck and call and if she needed help, to call a family member. My sister and I were at the facility daily, several times a day checking on mom, calling out the staff to ensure care was given, etc. I feel terrible for patients who do not have families or loved ones advocating for them. One of the LPN's (who is a retired veteran) was printing off discharge paperwork which was incomplete. He said to me, "this is why I don't like working with civilians." WHO SAYS THIS TO A PATIENT'S FAMILY MEMBER? So unprofessional!!! The facility does not supply tissues, wipes, and similar items which surprised us. Mom's shower had a terrible leak and the water on the floor was a huge fall risk for her. It was never fixed in the 4-5 weeks she was there. The staff just through towels on the wet floor. This demonstrates the facility does not care about patient safety. I don't know how this facility keeps their license and it is no wonder they are understaffed as it is a horrible place. If you care about your loved ones, do not place them at Princess Anne Health and Rehabilitation Center. If I could give them negative stars, I would.

Unbelievable...My mother was there for 3 weeks, three weeks too long…read more I'm not sure what upset me more, her bedsores (she is 81 & been in a few rehab centers here), she has NEVER come home with bedsores. When they discharged her, they provided transport because at this time my mother is bed bound, they brought her into the foyer/common area in a wheelchair & left her...alone. Just thankful there was staff still at work to notify me that she was in the hallway. After getting her home, I looked into the bag with personal belongings for discharge paperwork & medication lists/RX that I would go by until she physically went back to her doctor...nope, no discharge paperwork, no RX. So the next morning first thing, I went to Bay Point to at least get a copy of discharge instructions. I tried to speak to social worker but she was in a meeting. The young lady that came up front was just plain rude. She stated that they don't furnish discharge instructions...Um you are the only rehab I know that has that practice. Once again my mother is 81, she has had a few surgeries & been in rehab multiple times, this is the FIRST time I have not been provided discharge instructions & post-rehab medications. Thankful I have doctors & nurses that guided me in the right direction. I would not let them near my dog & I would not reccommend this facility to anyone.

He could only eat a mechanical diet (finely chopped foods) or pureed food, but he was receiving the same type food as everyone else (which was a choking hazard). His liquids were supposed to be without ice and thickened using a thickener (I provided some packets), but they brought him ice water to drink (another choking hazard). I would point this out each time they brought his food and/or drink wrong, and I would get "Not my job" or "Not my problem". At the end of the third day, I had heard those two statements over 16 times (I stopped counting at that point). It was four days before I spoke with anyone other than the CNAs, Nurses, other medical staff, and housekeeping (they were the nicest). None of the medical staff identified the role or advised if they were a nurse, CNA, volunteer, etc., with the exception of the CNA the first night - it was her first day on the job and her third day after completing her training. I watched as patients rang for assistance, and saw that for some it took well over an hour for a response (medical staff were at the central desk, most of them talking not working). The gentleman my husband was sharing a room with rang for help getting to the restroom, and after over 75 minutes someone (nurse or CNA) came in and when she found he had wet himself chewed him out for not waiting!!! Then she said it wasn't her job to clearn him up!!! He was supposed to have daily physical and occupational therapy as well as speech therapy. In the six days he was there, he had a single session of speech therapy and approximately 60 minutes of physical therapy. We started working on getting him transferred, and were fortunate to find a bed at Lake Taylor, but getting him discharged from Bayside was another problem. Lake Taylor had a bed ready for him on Tuesday, and they had sent their paperwork to the person "in charge" of transfers, but she did not return any of my calls or messages. By Friday of that week, I had arranged for medical transportation to take him to Lake Taylor that afternoon. After he was on the gurney and ready to be moved, a woman came running down the hall saying "I forbid him to leave". She was the person I had been trying to get all week. Long story short (too late), I gave her 5 minutes to provide me with the needed paperwork, or the gentlemen with the gurney were leaving with my husband and taking him to Lake Taylor. We left in about 4 minutes and 47 seconds. He has been at Lake Taylor for about a month and a half, physical and occupational therapy 5-6 days/week and some days more than once, his has finished speech therapy, and is improving. The difference between Bayside and Lake Taylor wasn't night and day, it was 2 miles down in a coal mine and day. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES THERE!!!!
