My husband and I had been without a proper lawn for ourselves and our dogs for over four years after the 1980s sprinkler system finally gave up on us. Because we were remodeling our home at the time we had to deal with the extended period of neglect at which point the "devil" weeds gradually moved into the barren desert that became our backyard making it dusty, hot, and miserable to walk on especially for dog paws. I couldn't imagine one more summer of dust bowl, so we finally had enough and called Troy to come out for an estimate. We were impressed right out of the gate with Troy's professionalism, knowledge, and how he truly listened to what we wanted. He talked through our vision to ensure he got it just right and spent what I thought was a surprising amount of time working through it with us for a free estimate. We had a flooding problem with water collecting along the side of the house reaching the bottom of the foundation. Troy put in a French drain to handle the surface and ground water, graded the slope away from the house, and placed a second pipe and drains to collect the roof gutter water and any excess surface water. Earlier this month, Troy and his crew at Suncrest Landscape helped install our backyard landscaping as well as concrete steps up to our entryway in the front. My wife and I just wanted a relatively basic yard to enjoy with our future kids that could stay within our budget. This was our second project with Suncrest, as we had such a wonderful experience the first time 7 years ago when they landscaped our front yard (eco-landscaping), which still looks amazing! This time, we needed to have our backyard grass removed and re-sodded (is that a word?), as it was mostly just weeds. Troy came out the very next day after we called him and measured, asked questions, and then provided us an estimate by email and text the following morning. So quick! We signed the contract online, which was easy and efficient, too. They came and applied herbicide to kill the weed roots the next day (on time), and the following week, they arrived on time to do the work. They scraped off the layers of old lawn (weeds), applied fresh topsoil and fertilizer, and rolled out the new sod. The crew of 2 were professional and friendly, worked hard and efficiently, and they were done the same day they started - about 7 hours total. It looks great! And the crew cleaned up completely before they left - honestly, there was no trace of dirt or debris anywhere! Troy provided us verbal care instructions by phone, and payment online was so easy (he emailed the link). We appreciated that they didn't charge an extra fee for credit card payment (got some travel points!). A week later (today), Troy called to check up on the new lawn. Such great service! I needed a French drain at the side of my house. Dealing with Suncrest Landscaping was a breeze from the beginning. The owner, Troy Turner, arrived on time for the estimate. He took the measurements he needed . He didn't try to upsell me anything and made recommendations based on what I needed to accomplish. When I decided to go with Suncrest, Troy was pretty good at keeping me up to date with regards to when he and his crew were coming over for the job. He required a 10% deposit which he didn't cash until the job was done. Troy and his crew arrived for the job earlier than he said they would, which was fine by me. They went to work right away. I watched them work and they did what Troy said he would do during the estimate. They got done and cleaned up pretty good. I was pretty happy with the job they've done. I have used Troy and his team twice in the last 4+ years for landscaping work. Each time he and his team did high quality work and I would recommend them without reservation. Because he has a small, but friendly and experienced team, he is willing to take smaller jobs that many bigger landscape companies will not accept. He is also prompt in responding to questions and requests for bids. I contacted two other companies for my recent job and one did not respond and the other came out and said they would send me a bid, but did not do so. Troy responds quickly and is honest in telling you if he can do a job and, if he can, how soon he can do it. His work for me on the last job, which he and his team finished this week, involved planting over 30 new plants as well as fixing and replacing drip line hoses and adding new mulch. HIs suggestions for the new plants were very good and I trust his judgment on what works in my yard.
