Among other work, I asked AVR to replace my old irrigation line. They charged $550 and instead of replacing they patched a leak and covered the old line with landscape fabric. I think they were hoping I wouldn't notice. Now when I get a leak I will not know it, and if I realize I do, it will be difficult to locate. We hired Alex and his team back in Nov 2023 to reroute the storm drain in our backyard because the original storm drain was connected directly to the kitchen sink drain and the pipe was so damaged by roots and dirt that the storm drain flooded / pooled water every rain season. I asked if he can close off the original pipe and reroute the drain to the front of our house, just as it should've been, and he said no problem. We got a few other quotes from plumbers and contractors and Alex's quote was the best for us so along with pricing and yelp reviews we decided to go with Alex. His work and team went above and beyond! Alex was on time, honest and the quality was incredible! I wanted to wait until now (rain season Jan 2024) to write a review on how well the new drain works! We had a great experience with AVR. Alex was always punctual including the first time he came out for a free onsite quote. We felt obligated to find a second quote, but the cost and customer service did not come close to what AVR provided. We quickly decided to move forward with them. The project included removing concrete, installing DG with a flagstone path, planting trees, weed blocker and mulch, installing drainage, retrofitting some of the sprinkler system, adding dripline, and low voltage wiring. This transformed our backyard and we are so pleased with the work. There was a big storm shortly after the job was completed. In June, AVR Landscape helped us revitalize our backyard. Alex is a true professional; he was able to come out quickly, take measurements, and provide a bid. He is friendly, offered suggestions, and gave us a realistic time frame to begin the job. Our project included the following: 1) Add artificial grass on both sides of the backyard 2) Add river rock to our dog run 3) Add flat black rock by our palm trees 4) Add decomposed granite by our fence line 5) Pour concrete to expand the usable space in our backyard. Overall, we are happy with how things turned out with one exception. The concrete job was subcontracted to A&S Quality Concrete. I received the point of contact and confirmed that the license was expired which was a red flag. Alex confirmed that he would take care of things if there were any issues so I decided to move forward with this subcontractor. After it was poured, I took a number of pictures and A&S came out and attempted to fix some of the issues. The photos attached to this review showcase some of the areas of opportunity with the concrete job. The concrete portion of the project was thousands of dollars (almost half of the overall project) and I wish I would have listened to my gut. Having said that, I would recommend working with Alex and AVR Landscape. But if you need concrete poured, my advice would be to treat that part as a separate project altogether. read more

Called atleast 6-8 companies, but got quotes from 3-4 other companies. Alex was the best priced and his personality just fit with ours. And he got it done in faster time then other companies quoted. So far, so good. What I couldn't solve after hours of frustration, muddy from head to toe, was easily solved by Alex (name buddies!) at GreenCali landscape. He's dependable, friendly, fast, knowledgeable and comes at a good price. In other words, his services are everything you'd need when dealing with a complicated seven-quadrant sprinkler system like mine. I learned quickly that finding sprinkler repair services in the height of summer is about the equivalent of finding gold in the Sierras. I contacted numerous companies and no one would respond. Those who did said they weren't available for weeks. That is, everyone except Alex. He said he was available Friday for a very reasonable $50 assessment. He showed up Friday, as promised and quickly went to work. An issue with one quadrant not working was resolved along with a full adjustment of sprinkler angles and pressure and the replacement of two heads.
