The bike selection is awesome, with something for every price range and need. I love my bike from Sun Cycle and my fiancé does too! They have excellent service and offer great deals and discounts. Roberto is the bomb and so are the rest of the staff. They are great at providing quick and immediate service whenever my bike needs a little tweak or I need some new accessories, and are kind and courteous even if it's close to 7 (when they close). Took my bike by this place for the first time last weekend when my bottle cage holder had rusted in and I stripped the bolt trying to get it out. Staff fixed it on the spot, put a new bolt in, and no charge. Everyone was very friendly, and I would definitely consider bringing my bike back here for future repairs. read more

First off, I would like to say that I know more about every type of bike than the owner does. I'm 17. If that doesn't say something about him, I don't know what will convince you. The guy at Sun Cycles is a dick, doesn't know what he should about biking, and overprices everything. I'll also say that Revolution is less than a mile away from this store and the guy that works there (Danny) is the nicest person on earth, just a cool and friendly guy that likes to ride bikes. He's been there for years and years and knows exactly what he's doing. Friendly and will show you what you anything or give you a tutorial upon request, for many repairs he's done on my bike, he hasn't even charged me. Revolution Bicycle Services is 10/10 and in a comparison to Sun Cycling, I would always recommend you go to Revolution. (The only reason I ever went to Sun Cycles is because it's closer.) I've had three bikes in the past 2 years. I just got a new one, but I'll start with the first time I went in there. I needed a set of brakes to be put back on a bike that was completely fine. The reason I took them off was to clean everything completely. Everything was there in a bag, so I go in with everything needed, and asked him to put it back on. It was to be ready the next day and the owner said that it would be ready for sure. I walk in the next day. First of all, it wasn't ready. Second, he threw away the bag of things I gave him, finally, he ordered another set of brakes that didn't end up fitting. This happened three times over the span of probably two weeks. I pretty much said "just give me my bike back and I'll find someone else to do it." With attitude he rolled it back to me, and tried to charge me a ridiculous servicing fee. I went to Danny from Revolution that same day and he had it done by the end of the day. Happening number two, I walk in with a mountain bike that's only a month old with a flat, he fixes it and charges me something like 15 dollars, not bad. But I put it in my car and went home to put it in my house. And it had a flat again. I went back, pissed. He fixed it and I noticed that he just fixed the tube, didn't replace it, which means he just did it the first time. It was fine after that for like another three or four months. Finally, two days ago. I got a new fixie in the mail from Pure Fix Cycles, which make beautiful, inexpensive and well made bikes. It obviously wasn't complete because of the fact that it was shipped. So I put the front wheel, tire and braking on myself. I had the tools and everything was smooth. The only things I had to do were put on the handle bar and tightening the seat, which I couldn't do because I didn't have a 4 millimeter Allen wrench key. There were a total of four screws that needed to be unscrewed and screwed back in once the handle bar was fit in and adjusted, same deal with the seat. I walk in and ask him to either lend me the tool for a minute or do it for me. He takes my bike and starts saying that I basically "put the bike together unprofessionally and did things wrong. So he says: "I'll do a security check, and tighten the seat and bar for 30 dollars." I then said: "I'm broke and I don't need a security check because the bike WAS assembled professionally, I would like it if you would please just quickly do the seat and bar for me." So he takes the fixie around his work area and looks at it for probably 30 seconds. He turned to me with a face and an attitude. He goes: "Ya know man I'm really not gonna do this for free." He could have done it in that thirty seconds. Anyway, I ask him about how much and he said 15 for just the bar. I walked out with him yelling behind me. I took the bike to Danny, and told him the story while he did it for me. I left Danny a tip, and he was very gracious. read more

I have been there a few times. The work is good and in one case has been exceptional (i.e. where another store was unable to fix a wheel, they could; that mechanic has since moved on though). The attitude could use improvement however and the service charge for a one minute job is at least questionable (an hourly rate of $550?). read more

well i was just in the now new owner sunCycling and asked about a basket that i returned - the men behind the counter said there were new owners and they knew nothing about what i was talking about and had no plans to honor the previous owners wrong doings. I was sorry to hear this - as i thought maybe they could at least give me the name of the previous owner or the now new owner- REVOLUTION has such a great name and reputation in Coconut Grove and has been in town forever- knowing this i am so sorry i tried to help the past owner of sunCycling - who at the time was new here too. With all the new construction i hope these new people do not take advantage of our town and of the new people coming to coconut grove. We need people who are honest business people and are willing to go out of their way- i left my name and number in hopes i hear from the new owner of sunCycling. will see read more

Funny....my old review disappeared. This is my horror story from 2013 I dropped off my bike to be assembled and to have my fork lowered. I did not get any phonecalls with updates until about a week or two before i picked it up. Weeks passed with a back and forth of them telling me the fork could not be lowered and that it could. Finally he orders the spacer kit that is required and tells me that i can come in at the end of the day and pick up the bike. Great. When i show up he still hadnt started working on the fork, and when he finally does all he does is mount the brakes and then leaves my bike to talk to someone who had just walked in. i sat there for about two hours for him to then tell me that if he took the fork apart to work on it that he wouldnt be done till midnight and he doesnt want to get out that late. I leave. The following day he calls me and says that he opened the fork up and didnt see where to put the spacers, and that he called SRAM and they said it couldnt be done- he also tells me that the spacer kit they sent him was wrong. I finally pick up the bike and take it to Bike tech just farther up bird road and drop it off along with the "incorrect" spacer kit( at this point its been just over a month and a half since i dropped off the parts and Sun Cycling). James had my fork done the following day. With the spacer kit. I dont know if its just lack of organization or what but they need to get their shit together if they want to survive. Maybe they prioritized their buddies over my build but the utter lack of communication from their end was ridiculous. They also dont know the product considering they sell rockshox and frankly its a bit embarrassing. I dont know if they lied to me or what when they said they called SRAM but i called myself and was told it could be done and James from Bike Tech called them and was told it could be done as well. Maybe its just growing pains but my personal experience with them was terrible. read more
