    My fav mask
    Jordan J.

Stopped in this store driving from Santa Clara to Portland. Everyone was so nice, great selection of hats! Talked a bit with the lady working there, they have this sweet dog and we chit chatted a bit. I love their selection of hats, but I really don't need another one, so I bought a mask thinking I should buy SOMETHING! Anyway the gal told me the masks were great, people always come back for more. She was right! It's my favorite one! I feel I'm protecting others and myself wearing it, but I can still breathe! Yay! Found this website (couldn't wait until I drive through again who knows when) and had to buy 6 more to give out as gifts. Thought I should come here to give a great review too! Not many small shops like this anymore, lovely people, lovely shop! Definitely stopping for a hat next time!

that's not me -- but it is the great SPF50 sun hat i got here....
    Lynn W.

Got my favorite sun hat(s) at their on-site outlet stoor -- all their stuff is UVA/UVB rated (mostly SPF 50 and better) wich is really important these days. They have a great variety at fair prices -- Before we left town, I had hats for myself, and more to take home to friends!

The staff is always helpful. If you are looking for a hat, this the place to go. Their products are high quality and reasonably priced.

I highly recommend these hats to anyone who is thinking of traveling to Africa -- or will be out in the sun a lot.

So I was interested to visit the new 'costume shop' in the Railroad District that opened this summer to see what they had in stock. Renaissance Rose offers a variety of themed costumes you can rent or purchase. They have packaged costumes similar to what you'll find around Halloween at other retailers, but also some more interesting pieces. At this point their website seems to be pretty basic, so hopefully that will expand in the future. After visiting both stores, I think the main location still has the broadest selection of items for purchase. Especially wigs, hosiery and accessories. But, if you are looking for a more unique rental, then the costume shop is worth a visit. I was most interested in the hair pieces near the back of the shop.

The floor is glossy AF. A sign on the window advertising the "Paddington National Park" collection brought me in. People used to ask me about it when I worked in Yosemite, so I was curious as to what it was. I was surprised to find that this store carried dozens of the same exact products as the Yosemite Village Gift shop-- same brands and everything. They also had products I'd seen at other various gift shops around California, like the Smokey Bear backpacks I'd seen in Shasta. They had some cute national park themed outdoor blankets on clearance for $29.99. In the upstairs section, they had all kinds of local Oregon jams. Downstairs, I found a display full of huckleberry candies. I searched for the huckleberry dark chocolate bar that was discontinued in Yosemite last year, but to no avail. They had super cute jewelry from a New York designer that looked just like Betsey Johnson stuff, but cuter. They had some of the cutest floral dresses I've ever seen. I might have to come back for one. They had the best selection of magnets, stickers, and keychains I've seen anywhere so far. I seriously wanted to buy everything here. Would definitely stop by again.

I'm a big fan of popping in here on weekdays over weekends. There's so much stuff and not a ton of room so it's really rad when you snag an off-peak moment to peruse. There's a shop cat, Charlie, that I've never seen leave the comfy chair in back and the owner, Heather, who is coolAF and actually super young- which is not typically what you'd expect from the owner of an antique and odd art shop. There's jewelry, Knick knacks, LOTS of art, of course. Many originals and if Heather is there she can magically tell you the origin story of the art and artist for EVERYTHING in the shop... and there's like 3000 things in the shop. Like any antique shop, it can be hot or miss and there's often piles or cramped aisles but that's called having character in the antique biz (I don't actually know that, just guessing) and I feel right at home here.

I was able to find a device that had been eluding me for weeks: a spiralizer large enough to handle the stupid huge zucchini that my garden churns out every year, and finally, I found success here! I've seen less selection of cooking doo-dads at big box stores, even those that specialize in culinary contraptions. Now, I'm going to have to pray there's a Paddington Station closer to home when I'm looking for the next gadget, or I'll be making frequent trips to Ashland. My wife had similar success, leaving with a dress for herself and our daughter, as well as a couple of cute flower rings. The selection here is almost overwhelming, but if you're like me, and at least *try* to avoid buying everything on Amazon these days, skip the big box stores, and make a stop at Paddington Station. If you can wear it, hang it up, or use it at home, it's probably here. (FYI, Yelp has two entries for this store in Ashland, so if you're experiencing déja vu reading this...now you know why!)
