We were clients for years and service was fine. not great but good enough. reached out for…read morethoughts on how to improve lawn and only thing offered was overseeding - which didnt really work. the main complaint is that the owner is rude. or as his employees refer to him as grumpy. while owner was always abrupt who cares - its fertilizer - not having cocktails with him. but this year I went to prepay my service for the year - online payment wasn't working which I told them and the owner's reply was they don't have anything to do with that. -ummm ok. anyway I played around and figured out a way I could pay as an old bill but it didn't auto populate the amount so I looked at the email he sent and paid that amount. and wrote him that I figured out a work around for his problem - I thought I was being helpful. his responded with a nasty note was that my work around was to rip him off. evidently if I read his entire email he only gives 10% prepay discount for checks and 7% for creditcards. so he then accused me of taking a 14% discount. dude- you could have just said. thank you. but if using credit card it costs $40 more can I add that to your card. but no - I pay my bill for all of 2025 and get a nasty note for my trouble. I apologized for causing him this heartache and asked to cancel my service and process a refund. life is too short to deal with miserable people. plenty of other companies out there who are nice.

Elite is our 3rd landscaper in the 3 years since we bought this house. After assessing our neighbors' yards, we hired the best landscaper among them--he made us promises and charged accordingly then he abandoned us without even doing the fall cleanup, leaving the yard 3 inches deep in leaves (during wildfire season last fall!), a scraggly mess, all winter. He had the nerve to show up in February saying he'd do it then for the same price. No thanks. But our neighbor across the street--her yard is always immaculate, like a carpet. Let's give Elite a try. We gave them a call and Bryan was quick to respond. We struck a deal, and he performed the "fall" cleanup here in March. It took them almost 3 days to clear the mess out, and I'm sure he took a loss for all the hard work his very pleasant team put in. But the yard looks better than it has looked since we moved in. We have very high hopes for Elite. They seem to *want* to have us as clients which is a nice change from the others who acted like *they* were doing *us* a favor by charging us huge fees for the most basic yard maintenance. It's absolutely clear that our previous landscaper took advantage of my mother. We're from Texas, new to the climate, the foliage and even to taking care of a yard (HOA did it in the old country). We will give you the benefit of the doubt for a little while, but overcharging a widow like the others did is unconscionable. Bryan has been straight with us, treated us with respect, and we have every reason to believe that we'll have a long, productive relationship with his company.
