Since it was still off season the store was empty which was nice because we were able to get a table by the window overlooking the harbor. When it came to the ice cream we were impressed by their sizes, prices and the overall quality. Since I have to eat no sugar added ice cream my options are usually limited to vanilla and some other random flavor, but this shop had a few choices. We were walking through rockport on the way to a show at the shalin Lui center. The amount of ice cream shops on the street is a dream for an ice cream lover like me but also overwhelming when you're on a diet. We checked out all of the ice cream shops and settled on sundaes because I found it appealing how they had the ice creams out on display. I like knowing what the product I'm buying is going to look like. I was also impressed that they had peach frozen yogurt. They served Giffords of Maine ice cream and yogurt. What was off-putting was we were the only customers in the shop and the girls working there did not once offer us a sample even though they saw us checking out all of the flavors. We had to ask if we can try anything and they obliged. We each tried two flavors and settled on a small split between peach yogurt and mint chip yogurt (to save calories). We chose this ice cream shop because the portions looked MUCH BIGGER than The Ice Cream Store that was down the street. And seriously, it's 2 scoops for $6 here - GIGANTIC servings and stuffed in like an xl cup. I was wondering how two of us would be able to finish it. We got the mint chocolate chip and the coffee oreo flavors. I liked the mint, but the chocolate chip has got to be the worse I've ever had in a mint chocolate chip ice cream - it's not creamy thick chunks of chocolate chip but rather almost like flavorless thin crisps. I liked the coffee oreo combo more but it didn't blow me away. I bet there are select flavors that are great though - they do have 49 flavors... Nonetheless, amazing value. read more

My favorite ice cream shop in Rockport. The waffle cones are things dreams are made of! My go to is the chocolate chip cookie dough it is so delicious. I usually mix it up with the toppings but whatever the combo it's always out of this world. If you walk to the back of the shop there is a beautiful view of the boats on the water. The staff is always so sweet and pleasant. There is a lot of competition in the area but I assure you this is a safe bet. Nothing like ending a nice summer day with a great ice cream. read more

This is one of the only places I go to that can make a real sundae. I love the ice cream and they do not skimp with the toppings one bit. They also have real Italioan Ice slush available as well and they give you a nice serving, not in a dixie cup like a lot of places do. The staff was so friendly and didn't mind that I tried a couple flavors even though there were clearly people waiting. My husband's and I had the banana split, classic style. The ice cream was deans brand I believe so I wasn't too impressed. They used chocolate sauce instead of hot fudge which may be traditional but I felt was a little lacking. Worst of all, no cherry on top! It was an ok treat but nothing special. The ice cream is good. I know that from last year. This year, however, has made me search for a new place for ice cream. Problem at Sundays is the "help" and I use that term loosely. I went in to get some cones for myself and my girlfriend and was completely ignored by the two bimbos (bimbettes?) working behind the counter. They completely ignored me, even though I was the only one there. In comes some young guy, and one of the girls is all over HIM, asking what he would like, etc. Fortunately, ice cream stands in Rockport are as common as art galleries and I took my business down the street where it was appreciated.
