As advertised, they were in fact able to accommodate me without an appointment. The salon itself is super cute with a lot of shabby chic decor -- a bit of an Etsy upcycled look to it. After about a 30 minute wait, I was introduced to my stylist, Kim Curling. Kim asked several intake questions about my hair, my daily routine, and my preferences before starting. Typically, I'm hard pressed to find a stylist who doesn't cut my hair too short on the first try -- but Kim did an excellent job staying in my comfort window. She also was very helpful by introducing me to a new styling product that is amazingly low maintenance, helps maintain my curls, and doesn't make my hair stiff as a board! Overall, it was a good experience. In terms of my star rating -- I went with four because it was an expensive endeavor ($80+), and for that price, it didn't come with spa perks that I've come to expect at that price level (aromatherapy, skin/scalp treatments, complimentary tea/coffee, etc.). It's a nice little place though and I wouldn't hesitate to get my hair done here again if I was in the area!

They pulled an obviously previously…read moreopened and used bottle of polish despite still having at least one in tact unopened bottle of polish in stock on the shelf...and luckily I opened the package that was wrapped so tightly you would have thought FT Knox was inside before leaving the store that I went out of the way for this particular item. I can't get inside the head of the person that wrapped it but it seemed intentional that I was given a used bottle of polish since they made it impossible to check before leaving the store with the unecessary wrapping stunt they pulled. Maybe I didn't spend enough money that day. IDK. What I do know is while I stood in line to make an even exchange another customer confirmed that when you pick up orders they usually show them to you ( I have also had that experience with past p/ u orders) to make sure the order is correct. That didn't happen. Again, since it was a single item it didn't seem to matter how much I spent at multiple Ulta locations over the years. I did not feel like a valued customer. Fast forward to today. I waited for an order to be shipped. 4 items. One of which should have been a bargain eye pallette for $6 instead of typical $50 and up (for a decent everyday smoky eye look). The eye pallete had been intentionally destroyed all over the contents of the otherwise in tact shipping package. I deduced that action because the eye pallet was never secured inside the included soiled bubble wrap and the eye pallet was completely closed and not even cracked to make the mess all over the contents inside the shipping envelope appear to be a logical result of shipping or physical damage to the eye pallette. To add insult to the entire experience when I called customer service they couldn't care less about me getting a personal response from a decision maker but offered to replace the items and $5 on my next purchase AS IF I will spend another dime on them so long as I didn't require them to record a formal complaint or allow me the information needed to do it on my own. I asked to speak to a supervisor on the Ulta customer service line and everytime I asked to speak to a supervisor the call was disconnected. They managed to call me back the first time I was disconnected but not the next few times I was disconnected. I would give a negative 10 star review if that was an option.

I decided I was over it and there had to be a better experience. I went to Ultimate Tan and can't say enough about the personable, exceptional experience I had with Leslie. She was so informative and even checked me after I sprayed to make sure I was going to be even. The Versa Spa Plus is so much better than the regular that the chain carries. The price includes your prep and hydration after your spray(which has proven to be so important to the life of my tans). If you purchase it all separate at other places, it costs even more! I am now a member and will be going weekly to get my sprays at Ultimate Tan!! Also, I should mention that my tan with the extra leg pass (extra leg color) has lasted 8 days now! I wish I would have known years ago instead of giving my money to the "chain" every month!

Then asked the other woman working if she really needed to clean all beds after each use - and then didn't. Her friends came in for a visit and she went out and smoked while others waited for rooms to be cleaned. They changed the foot protection for spray tanning from easy to use footies to cut pieces of contact paper impossible to separate. Especially with their customer care - definitely not worth the money!! Try Sundays Spa!!
