The Sundown Ski in Levittown (which is amazing and super helpful!) called the Farmingdale Sundown Ski to put skis on hold for me because they weren't in stock in Levittown. When I arrived at the Farmingdale Sundown Ski to pick up the skis, we waited for many minutes before being helped, and the cashier told me that the skis were going to cost $100 more than what I was quoted at the Levittown location! The (very nice and helpful) employee went to ask the manager if there was a mistake with the price, and the manager said quote "The price is the price and that's it. Sorry, I'm tired." After begging the manager to double check to see if the price was marked incorrectly, he finally agreed to look at his "sale booklet" which showed that the price had been marked down to $100 less than what the sticker on the skis said. There was no apology. The helpful employee then rang up my skis, and was able to adjust the bindings on the spot (super appreciative!) Word of advice, go to the Levittown location - They are extremely accommodating, go out of their way to help you, and try to get you the best price. read more

the Staff at Sundown are extremely knowledgeable and super friendly- they tuneup the equipment on site and the techs are superior when it comes to waxing and sharpening my skis- I've been skiing for over 50 years and have even worked in the industry myself so it's important to me that the staff is knowledgable in the latest technology and can offer sound advice. read more

Haven't skied in 10 years , needed just essentials because don't know when I'd be skiing again. Saleswoman asked if I needed help, tried on pants but told her I was just going to go with my current jacket, gave me a little attitude for that. Next I just needed glove liners, she tried to sell me the more expensive, when I went for the less expensive, again an attitude. Got to the register to pay, showed a 10% coupon I had, was told that she could apply it and then "forgot" to apply it. A large patio store that also sells ski stuff in the winter. Came into Sundown with my mom to pick up a replacement table after ours got broken. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, but the fact that they accidentally ordered the wrong color for our replacement table twice is the only thing keeping me from adding that 5th star. read more

Husband and I were doing some yard work. We decided on purchasing new patio furniture. Decided to stop here since I heard they have good prices. Once you walk into the store the counter is at the entrance.. a woman was on the phone talking, she didn't wave, smile, nothing.. Another woman was in the back, she looked me in my face and walked away. We walked around looked at what was available and waited for someone to greet us or ask us if we needed help and we were completely ignored. It's like our presence didn't exist. Not sure it was a race thing or lack of customer service but I will never come back to this store. We always try our best to support local businesses but ended up going to Home Depot down the block and bought a table, chairs, umbrella amongst other items.. $1K + later that's a sale you lost. People need to learn that when you are in a customer service business it's important to greet your potential customers and ask if they need help. My wife and children have recently this past winter taken an active interest in skiing. Which gets me back on the slopes after a 10 year hiatus. To get up to date with the latest brands of ski boots, helmets and goggles I have no idea what I am looking for. Recently visited sundown ski and patio in Farmingdale N.Y. This is where I met a gentleman named Fred. Fred had to be the nicest most knowledgeable person I have encountered in a long time. He wasn't pushy and made my wife and I feel like we were the most important people in the facility at the time he was helping us. Again if you need to know something/anything about skiing this is the place to go. I wasn't put up to say this, it's just nice to see people actually care about their customers. Each time we leave this shop, we are amazed with how simple they make it to rent equipment (ski/snowboard). We are always in and out in a timely manner, it is extremely affordable, the equipment is great, and the staff are SO accommodating and laid back. My first time, I had no idea what equipment I would even need to board. They walked me through what my whole first boarding experience would be like, even taught me quick tips for how to tie and untie my boots with ease. As far as the gear I purchased... an associate explained the difference of each brand to me, helped me pick which helmet I liked from an aesthetic perspective, and even gave me his personal recommendations from his past experience on the slopes. I even take their advice on which mountains to try based on recent weather updates and personal experiences they give me. They're always friendly, have a sense of humor, make casual conversation, sooo polite, CARE about what they do, and THEY KNOW THEIR STUFF. I. LOVE. THESE. GUYS! Thanks Sundown crew. sundown patio sucks.purchased 2 lounge chairs on tues 9/8.they where to be brought from Ronkonkoma whse to lake grove for p/u by me. stopped by store on Monday 9/16 still no chairs but I was promised that they would definetly be there on tues . I purchased a gas fireplace patio set in the beginning of june and was told the benches were gonna take an extra two weeks. now its august and I still have no benches I tried calling them twice.. the first time I was told to call back when the woman who sold it to us was there.. I called and at this point two months later I have no benches and asked for a refund for the benches I was told by the woman she would call me back ... and going on 3 weeks later still no call no refund and no benches.. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE... for the $3500 I paid for the set this is ridiculous and after three times of using the fireplace It was already not working NO THANKS your better off going to kmart and buying a patio set it is probably better quality for 75% of the price you would pay at this place. I don't even want the patio set anymore looking at it makes me furious and I wish they would come pick up their piece of crap patio set and refund me my $3500 ... for what I paid for it this should not be happening... go somewhere else unless you wanna get jerked!!!! if I could I would give this place 0 stars it doesn't even deserve 1 star read more
