As an antique collector, I hesitate to to call attention to this auction house by leaving a review…read more (The more people that know about it, the more likely the bids will be higher ) However, based on the new owner's kind disposition and the "hand picked" high quality treasures that he makes available, I have to share. The new owner currently offers an online only auction experience that is second to none. He allows on sight previews of all the auction items prior to the sale date but even if you can't attend the preview, his online descriptions are very accurate and honest........you can bid with confidence. I have been an active bidder as this auction house for several years now and always look forward to his next sale. If this review has encouraged you to take a peek at his future sales, please don't bid on the items that I am bidding on.

I have utilized dozens of Auction Houses over the past year. Midwest Liquidation Services is the…read moreworst Auction house I have ever dealt with. They are terrible from a buyer's perspective, as well as terrible from a seller's perspective. From a buyers perspective, I reached out 4 times before the auction to determine if he was willing to ship certain items. We spoke on the phone and he was agreeable to shipping, the items I was interested in purchasing. It took him 7 weeks to ship the item, that we specifically discussed. It was an antique picture, framed under glass. He literally wrapped a picture in Christmas wrapping paper (see Photos). As you would expect, the glass was shattered in transit and the broken glass damaged the antique picture. There were 3 other antique framed posters, that were also framed under glass. They also arrived totally ruined with scratches and gouges from the glass. So, if you are willing to wait two months for your items to arrive broken and ruined, Darwin is your man. From a sellers perspective, Midwest Liquidation Services does not provide the seller with the true value of their belongings. He placed Do not ship on a seemingly random, and significant number of auction lots. As an example, in this auction, there were 5 coins, slightly larger than a quarter, that were marked will not ship. As a result, these items could only be available to bidders nearby in the State of Kansas. The 99% of the US population, that could have bid on the 5 coins were excluded. This meant these coins only received few and insignificant bids. They sold for $8 each. However Darwin demanded significantly more than that to ship those 5 coins. So, the seller received a fraction of the true value of their items and Darwin realized more in handling fees, than the shipper received from the Auction. So, Sellers beware, if you want to receive maximum value for your items, you will NOT receive that if you list your items with Midwest Liquidation Services

I ask for an exception and he said I can pay him $35 extra for every time he has to move anything, and he said he will have to move it 5-6 times. I ask my daughter to go pick it up and she did. But when she asks for a little help, they referred to the post that said they do not help. But the 3 or 4 guys were kind enough to laugh at her struggle as a girl along trying to push a 100lb file cabinet up a hill to her truck. They also told her that she could not drive on the grass. I understand I failed to get there as intended, But as a business, would you watch and laugh at a girl struggling, in her presents, and refuse to offer a little help? This business does not deserve my future business.

The distance away is listed. Auctions are across MO, KS, OK, NE.... Make sure to read the descriptions of the items. Some are new, most are as is, open box. Most resellers will have a per item handling fee and most have limited pick up options. I've spent thousands over the years on everything from Art, Clothes, Plates, knives, coffee, tea, protien shakes, air mattresses.... I have had to donate or toss a couple things over the years, but that's the nature of online auctions!

Never mentioned that the popcorn popper was untested. One would assume you are buying it with the dirt and all, but at minimum if it didn't work then that should have been disclosed! They essentially robbed school kids out of $200. I bid on 3 items from a liquidation sale in a retirement community in Gladstone. I bought what was described as an electric wide recliner chair. It was obvious there was no cords when we saw it. Just your standard cheap used recliner. It wasn't even a wide seat. When my husband brought it to Equip-Bids employee's attention she blamed it on A.I. changing the description. She offered us a full refund for her "A.I "mess up. We had brought a trailer and was looking for having the item described for a disabled Veteran. It was extremely disappointing and a major undertaking getting a room cleared out for this purchase. Let alone the disappointment to the veteran who was looking forward to his purchase. We then went to locate the popcorn popper that we spent nearly $200 on. When we plugged it in it did not run properly. Nothing was mentioned that it was non working nor not tested. My husband went to talk to the employee supervisor, but she had stepped out for a moment. We went and got the third item which was another chair and it was worn but usable. When we had a chance to speak to the supervisor regarding our purchase of the popcorn machine, I explained to her that it was not working properly. I also made it very clear that it was being purchased for a school event and that they were going to be very disappointed that we are unable to deliver. There were 4 employees that kept telling me everything is being sold "as is". I explained that that should not include not working or not functioning properly. No one would have purchased a machine like this for the amount of money we spent if there was any indication it did not work properly. Even mark it as "untested". I wouldn't have bid at all. They know that people typically don't pay much if it's disclosed as untested or non working. One of the employees, the only male at the retirement home pickup made a comment that I was upset because it didn't work as fast as I would have liked. The motor was seized up from sitting for who knows how long. Instead of doing the right thing and making a good ethical decision to refund me for obvious garbage, Sidney told me I needed to waste more time and leave the machine at the site for them to first reach out to their manager to determine if they would authorize a refund. I was told that they would not authorize a refund if I took the machine I paid for. The auction ended at 4:00. My husband received a message after 4:00 that they declined to refund us and now we had to go out of our way to pick up between 11:00 am and 2:00PM on the following Wednesday or forefoot our $200 purchase all together. Nope no need to go to work... must jump through hoops to accommodate this company. No consideration at all! This Company has the worst unprofessional customer service, absolutely unethical in their business dealings, and makes excuses for their human errors when it comes to properly describing the item being auctioned. We are going to report our situation to the Attorney General's office as "as is" needs to be less broader and more consistent with the condition of the item in terms of scratches, dents, dirt etc Not functionality. That needs to be stated separately if it's an electronic. We also plan on letting everyone know what our experience has been. We have spent thousands of dollars buying from Equip-bids affiliates in the past, but it is to the point they are using the "as is" clause to steal your money. a good 40 to 50% of what we have purchased has been incomplete, non working , not the same item listed, or just pure broken or dirty trash. This $200 used popcorn popper is pure trash that they are fully aware of but chose not to do the right thing and refund us. They will also tell you that there is a preview day, but most people won't see their auction until the day of closing as in our case. That does not excuse the fact they do not accurately describe the item being auctioned. Deception. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... save yourself your time and money and read all of Equip-bids negative feedback... these are real people being mistreated and conned by this company. I can only think that the few positive feedback responses are from the employees and owners. I wish now that I would have done my research and checked out the terrible feedback first. I feel like I personally lost these kids funds The contact of each person who was responsible for this auction. This information was posted on the Equip-bid auction that I am referencing.
