That same evening, my 14-year-old son and I both got sick -- diarrhea and stomach cramps within hours of eating it. When I examined the packaging I understood why: the store had placed their own label showing a February 2026 packing date directly over the manufacturer's original sticker, which clearly showed a December 2025 production date. That is a 3-month-old deli meat product sold as fresh. When I returned to the store and raised this with the manager, he was immediately defensive, dismissive of the date discrepancy, and showed zero concern that two people had become ill after eating his product. I have filed formal complaints with the USDA Meat & Poultry division and LA County Environmental Health. I have photographic evidence of both date labels. Shop here at your own risk -- and check carefully what is underneath those price stickers.

I hope they pay more attention to how deli items are weighed and labeled, because customers shouldn't be overcharged like this. Update: I went back to the store the next day and spoke with the manager. He was very polite, re-weighed the container himself, and confirmed the issue. His response was simply: "That's how I sell it." I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable--I just wanted to return a product that did not meet my reasonable expectations. Instead, I was met with poor customer service, no accountability, and a complete unwillingness to help. I live just around the corner and have been a loyal customer, shopping there almost every day. After this experience, I will never shop there again, and I cannot recommend this store to anyone. A business is judged by how it treats its customers when something goes wrong, and this experience was extremely disappointing.

However the discrimination I faced at the hands of PAVITHRA this past Monday 11/3/2025 makes me never want to go back there ever again. But things changed when it was my turn. Firstly, as soon as she saw me she stopped smiling, and had a look on her face that clearly said she didn't want me there. I asked do you have Thumbs UP. She said no. Then I asked her what was the price of the individual Frootis and she said $1 I said that was too expensive and I would be better off buying the whole box in bulk instead, which mind you I have done countless times at this store before. It was at this time that she lied to my face and said "we don't have that here, we just get one box and put out the juices in it inside the fridge. If you want you can buy the $2 Frootis we have." This was clearly a lie because no store ever orders just one box of anything let alone Frootis, which is a popular item. Hell, if you looked at the fridge you would see that it was packed with way more Frootis than what just comes in one box, which probably meant there were more boxes in the back. However Pavithra was determined not to help and was trying to make my shopping experience as difficult as possible! I in turn stayed calm and said "fine than I will only get 4 individual small ones" because frankly I knew I could buy a whole box of Frootis elsewhere and just needed a few to get by for now. I was even nice enough to put back the 3 extra Frootis I originally took out. Things didn't end there though. After all this Pavithra was like "do you want a bag" when I said yes she proceeded to charge me a bag fee which she didn't charge anyone else. In fact she was giving out bags to all other customers even without asking if they wanted one! Still, I was trying to be nice and wanted to return the basket I used to shop but Pavithra was like no I will do it, all the while showing an expression on her face that said get out of my store already! Like I said I have been coming here for years and was always welcomed before. I remember Shravani Di who always went above and beyond to help me get everything. Then I remember there was this one time I came at closing time and got lovingly scolded by the Didi at the counter for making her stay after closing to scan all the items I bought and we had a good laugh about it. But the way Pavithra acted clearly showed she didn't want me there and that hurt! I just want to tell the owners to hire better employees who can treat all customers equally because at the end of the day all humans have the right to be treated with respect!
