I got my first-ever professional headshot taken by Sung Park Photography. I'm one of those folks who doesn't always enjoy how they look in photos but my experience with Sung was fantastic! He's not only a wonderful photographer but he has amazing interpersonal skills and instantly put me at ease. He definitely knows his craft and how to make anyone look their best using his knowledge of angles and lighting. He made sure to ask what I wanted my photos to convey and then gently (and humorously!) coached me so that the photos had the intended impact. I'd recommend him to anyone for pretty much any occasion - he's a true artist and collaborator and you can't go wrong. I'll also mention that I REALLY appreciated Sung's attention to maintaining Covid protocols. My photos were taken prior to the vaccine availability and he gave me a short questionnaire before I entered the studio, kept the patio door propped open for ventilation, had a humidifier on since humid conditions help to prevent Covid spread, and wore a mask for the duration. I also observed him beginning to wipe everything down as I was heading out so I know the next person was welcomed into a clean and sanitary space by someone who not only cares about making you look your best but also cares about keeping you as healthy as possible. Sung is a personal friend, and one of the best photographers I've worked with. He recently did some professional headshots for me, and the entire experience was perfect. He's very professional, yet keeps you comfortable with his interesting humor. He has a very natural eye for lighting, angles, and locations. For someone as non-photogenic as myself, having my picture taken has always felt like the worst. However, on several occasions, I've had the opportunity to have Sung take non-professional sitting photos that I've ended up using for company head shots. Sung is the best. I've worked with him on two things. First my headshot, which turned out more amazing than I'd ever have imagined. (I'm not much of a "take pictures of myself" person.) Sung took wonderful photos of my family. He captured us all perfectly. The candid shots he took of my 1 year old daughter turned out even better than I'd hoped- she was not being the easiest subject! Sung took our family photos in Central Park. Even with our Tasmanian devil Son, he took a lot of photos to make sure they were amazing. He also got a workout in by chasing him around in circles. Photography is so much more than having the correct gear, creative eye, and technical skill, it's the marriage of all of those things along with the ability of the photographer to make their subjects at ease and also see what the image can be--not simply what is currently there. Are you looking for a relaxed but super professional photographer with a keen eye for detail and composition? Then Sung is your guy. He's well travelled and funny and knows what features that the subject will appreciate seeing showcased in their photo. I met Sung at a yoga training in Costa Rica, he was getting ransacked from mosquitoes and suffering through the intense heat and humidity with all the rest of us but you wouldn't know it from the quality of the photos produced. I purchased a 'mini session' from Sung and of course it was raining, as it does in the rain forest, but I was still happy with the lighting, composure and look of the photographs. It's very easy to communicate with Sung and he makes payment easy as well. Sung uses top quality equipment and will work to get you the shots you are after. Definitely not a 'diva photographer' as some can be quite stuck on their egos. I would hire Sung again and recommend him to friends. Even if you are not in NYC area it would be worth looking into Sung for his services. read more

We had an amazing experience with Sung. He is extremely personable. He made himself available for a last minute booking, and was extremely friendly (despite that we were late!). We had booked an hour, but he went above and beyond by staying longer to make sure we could get the sunset and a variety of shots in different lighting.
