Linda is, in short, fabulous. She shot our family at our home in Hawaii. I think it's worth noting that shooting in bright sun, tropical foliage and serious humidity presents challenges and is a lot different than her typical Seattle based shoots. Her creative spontaneity in shooting us resulted in epically amazing photos that we will surely be enjoying for a lifetime. Linda was exceedingly patient with our 3-year old daughter who had not one but two spectacular melt-downs. We never felt rushed. Her compositional ideas were great: a curved palm tree framing our little family, the Mokulua Islands in the distance, our daughter intently examining a fire-red leaf. During our review session (done on-line with us in Hawaii and Linda in Seattle) was easy and painless. We had SO many great photos to choose from but she efficiently helped us to cull out the unnecessary and made sure we had a great suite of photos that we will give as gifts, hang on our walls and be shared at the old folks home when we're 90. Her pre-shoot instructions were also very, very helpful and I'm convinced played a large part in how well our photos turned out. So when you use her - and you should - make sure you read those! The comprehensive nature of Linda Brooks Photography is what really struck me as a top tier business. We were relatively inexperienced in terms of what to expect and plan for in a photo shoot and ordering session. However, once I contacted LInda, she was easy to talk to, very professional and quick to offer solutions and suggestions. She met us out at our favorite outdoor Seattle spot, and was prepared with her professional tools and an assistant, both were lovely with the kids. We shot across several landscapes and backdrops, it was easy and comfortable, even for my husband who isn't super happy to be in front of the lens. A day or two later, Linda invited us for a viewing of our images in her beautiful Phinney Ridge Studio--we easily could have done a great indoor session there as well. She'd put a slide show together of 80+ images. Over the next hour, we sat together and discussed the images and made decisions on what to keep and what to print. I give her 10 stars, 5 isn't enough! I absolutely can't rave enough about Linda, she's fantastic!!! She has done our family photos on numerous occasions, she's extremely easy to work with and especially great with kids and babies. I can't say enough wonderful things about how pleased I've been with all of our photo shoots. Most of the time with photographers you spend an arm and a leg and are lucky to get 3 good pics from a hundred shots that you actually like, this has never been the case since we switched to Linda. I can never pick just a few, I always end up purchasing all of them! It's so great that we can count on her to capture all of our special moments. Linda photographed our son at his daycare and the results were beautiful. So we thought we'd try her for a much-needed family shoot. We had tried, unsuccessfully, at a studio the year prior and ended up with very few decent shots to show for it. The experience with Linda was exactly what we had missed from the studio experience. She suggested a gorgeous outdoor location, and was very accommodating with the time. Our three-year-old son had announced that he was NOT going to have his picture taken, but Linda and her assistant connected with him immediately and got amazing shots of him, despite his best efforts to foil our plans! I did a "mini" session with Linda Brooks for my holiday card after reading rave reviews on my neighborhood group Madrona Moms. When I inquired she called me back right away and walked me through my options and helped me choose the best kind of session for my needs. She made both my son and I feel extremely comfortable. She wrangled my tot and managed to get amazing shots of him despite his short attention span. I really appreciated the direction she gave me to make sure we got a flattering shot. The process was extremely easy and I loved the quick session to review the prints and place the order. The retouching was perfect - light-handed, but very appreciated. We also did a Santa shoot which I highly recommend. Instead of standing in line for ages you can schedule a quick 10 minute session. Truly wonderful family photography. I hired Linda Brooks to photograph my son's wedding. She and her assistant, Anita, (and not just an assistant but an accomplished photographer herself with her own photography business) worked tirelessly for 6 hours taking pictures after 1st exploring the full outdoor venue of barns, fields, fences, gardens, inside buildings, etc, to find places for all kinds of shots. Paying close attention to when the sun would be here or there and when the lighting would be perfect in each area! They had us laughing, making it fun, while extremely patient & professional! I discovered Linda Brooks through her engagement with my daughter's day care and was so thrilled with the portraits of my 6 month old that I decided to schedule annual portraits with Linda directly. I had so much fun with the session for my daughter's 1 year portraits. Linda provides a lot of guidance in planning the shots, including wardrobe changes, props and positioning. She is very professional and is great with young children and it can be very challenging to hold their attention through a 2 hour photo shoot! The quality of the images is fantastic and the sincerity in the shots is heartwarming. We've worked with three different photographers for our yearly family portraits and we had the most fabulous experience working with Linda. Not only did our family photos turn out amazing, but the photo shoot and process up to it were very organized and well thought out. If I could give Linda more than 5 stars I definitely would! I was looking for some artistic, exquisite photos of my newborn and family, and I got exactly what I wanted and more. Linda made the experience enjoyable and fun all the way through the process, from the shoot to the selection to the pick up. My daughters, ages 3 and 6, had a great time, too, and it shows in the photos. There was a lot of variety in the photos Linda took...I had a lot to choose from, and as I chose she helped me think through how I might display them, which I had not considered. We met Linda at Seattle Children's Teen Talk workshop, and were enthralled by her humor, style and demeanor. We signed on for her Empower Project, which is a portrait of tween girls, pairing image and word to create unique imagery of this special demographic. We have had a few photography sessions with Linda. She is wonderful - we like working with Linda personally and her photos are beautiful. She does a great job of capturing her subject's personalities and eliciting natural smiles. Linda is very organized, professional, and pleasant. Linda Brooks is awesome! Linda took maternity photos of me and my partner when I was pregnant and they were beautiful. When I was pregnant again, we went back to her and were extremely happy with the photos. We did family portraits when our girls were 4 and 6 years old and again, the results were wonderful.
