WARNING- This store does not honor their own return policy On July 8th, I attempted to return sunglasses I bought from sunglasses hut in Macy's. I bought the sunglasses on June 17. I had the original receipt which states a 30 day return policy. The 30 day return policy is also displayed in multiple places on the counter. The cashier refused the return. She claimed they now had a two week return policy, but was unable to show me any documentation of where this was stated. She later admitted that the return policy was 30 days but that I was close enough to the return date that she wasn't going to accept the return. 6/17-7/8 is 22 days. I'm still a bit shocked by this conversation, I was really discussing with another gainfully employed, articulate adult, the definition of the number 30. One of those "is this real?" moments. The cashier elaborated that she believed that she believed people wear the sunglasses and return them used and unsellable within the return policy window, insinuating that she believes that this is what I was doing. She did not look at the sunglasses I was attempting to return before making this statement. They were, in fact, unused. For this reason I believe she was discriminating based on my appearance. Regardless, even if people do wear the sunglasses and return them with the 30 day window, the company policy is to accept the return within 30 days, so this would be a moot point. I would just go there to try sunglasses on if absolutely necessary, but never purchase from them. read more

The staff here is super friendly and helpful. When I came in to shop for sunglasses, the sales rep (forgot her name) was really good in helping me find glasses that matched my needs. I ended up buying 3 pairs and keeping them all! When one pair had a screw loose and I needed help getting it repaired, Ana was extremely helpful and went out of her way to make sure I was taken care of. Thanks so much! read more

The service by the staff here has routinely been excellent, even if I was just browsing. Great selection of high-end sunglasses, like Ray-Ban, Persol, etc. Only downside is paying retail prices when it seems like it is so easy to get discounted prices online these days. Nevertheless, they do offer a 1 year return policy which is nice. Certainly a great place to buy nice sunglasses if you have money to burn. read more

My son and I visited the Corte Madera store a week ago and enjoyed a great experience :) We were immediately approached by store associate Christopher who warmly welcomed us and listened to our interests (we both wanted sunglasses). He immediately directed us to showcases that reflected our interests and stayed with us to answer all questions (Ray-Bans for my son and Prada for me). Chris is very well educated in the large sunglass inventory in the store and helped us select different models from which to choose. He also was great about letting us just try on many different glasses, didn't rush us at all, and provided details for both brands that helped us. It's not often you receive this kind of assistance in retail, so Chris is definitely applauded! My son and I each ended up with amazing sunglasses that we selected in large part because Chris was so attentive to us and imparted a great deal of information regarding each pair. I walked in to get some sunglasses on my shopping list. The woman working there was on the phone and it was very clearly a personal call. I approached the counter and she said to her phone pal, "Hold on a second" and then looked at me. I said I needed just a minute to text my husband to tell him not to come on the store. She went back to her phone conversation, and when I was done texting my husband and looked up again, I asked her for the sunglasses I was looking for. Without again asking her phone pal to hold, she just looked up from her phone conversation and asked me to repeat myself. So I did. She still didn't understand my request, so asked her friend to hold. I asked for the first pair of glasses I needed and she just said, "We don't carry those." And went back to her conversation. So I tried asking her if it was just that location that didn't carry them, or if Sunglass Hut didn't carry them as a whole. She looked exasperated, told her friend to hang on again, then asked me, "What?". I said nevermind and left. read more

I was in there this weekend. Saturday. I wasn't in a rush. I walked in and the lady working there acknowledged my presence. Apologized cuz she was busy and said she'd be right with me. Ok. Cool. I looked around. Picked out some styles. But needed her help for a couple in the case that I wanted to look at. The gentleman and his daughter took FOREVER. one lady walked in. Then a couple walked in. When she was finally done with the father/daughter. I stood up near the glassees i wanted to look at. The expensive ones. In the case. The lady just walked up to the counter with a visor she wanted to buy. the salesgirl looked up awkwardly and apologetically and rang up the sale. Okay. Fine. When she was done with that. The couple walked up and asked for her help "I bought these sunglasses here..." And the salesgirl started helping them. I just got up and walked away. I was prepared to spend at least $100. I could have been convinced to spend more. So. She lost my sale (less the profit on the visor she sold) because she couldn't prioritize the customer service part of her job. Cuz I don't think the person who she was taking care of as I walked out spent any money what so ever. I won't go back. There are plenty of other places that will want my money. read more

I love Sunglass Hut in general and have bought many sunglasses in the past, but the woman working here (short straight red hair) had horrible customer service. She was so rude. I went in to get a pair of sunglasses last week, but was told they did not have them. They told me they could order them for me with free next day shipping. 4 days later, and they finally arrived. But they were the wrong style. I went to go return them during business hours, but the store was closed. I waited to see if they were out for a break, but an hour had passed and they did not return. Hello, I am a Customer of Sunglass Hut. My Birthday is February the *th and went to your store at 1528 Redwood Highway in Corte Madera today to Buy a Pair of sunglasses. I asked the sales person "*" (Who tried to be helpful) if I could use the Birthday Coupon that is usually sent. (Which I had Not Received yet) She said she had to ask her manager. The manager was Rude. She said I had to have the actual certificate even though I am in her computer. At that time I was going to buy the glasses regardless for $254.95, As well, my girlfriend was going to buy a pair of glasses also. Sadly it was the only pair they had in the store, display model and the lens was scratched. The manager told me that it was all they had, or go online and buy it. There was no offer to call another store, see what was available or simply assist in a purchase. I am in sales myself and customer service is key to making your client happy and coming back. It is only one experience, but for me to take the time to send this review should show that not only was I upset, but more importantly I was and still am applaud at how I was dismissed. I could have gone to Macy's Sunglass Boutique, or Nordstrom's to purchase the glasses, but came back because I have always had great service and selection. All I wanted was a certain pair with polarized lenses. The salesman was too busy trying to make a sale with his very limited stock on hand. He showed me everything except what I asked to see. He told me to "buy these, they go so well with your fingernail color". And "your significant other will surely smile when you're wearing these". So insulting. I couldn't leave fast enough. There was a short Asian young woman who rung up my purchase who was completely rude. I asked why she wanted all my personal information and she said it was for the warranty or I can do it myself! Ranks up there with the worst customer service experience of my life. I brought in a pair of expensive wire frame Raybans I purchased in at a Sunglass Hut in New York (where I had an awesome experience by the way) to see if I could get them repaired or replaced (cracked lens due to hinge defect on frame). Liza Montoya, store manager, was rude and condenscending and anything but helpful. She couldn't find me in the computer, though commented several times that the computer was slow and crashed and sometimes lost information. She suggested i was lying about buying the glasses at a Sunglass Hut. She didn't once offer to see if she could fix the glasses (really just need a new lens), offer me a discount on a new pair, nothing. When I inquired about Sunglass Hut's customer satisfaction policy, how she was trained to handle issues, etc, she told me her job "was to follow company policy and make sure paperwork was in order". I asked her where in the corporate training did "customer service" enter the conversation. End of the day, no big deal. I'll just buy a new pair of shades elsewhere or get them repaired. But pretty unbelievable. read more

picked up a great pair of mosley tribes here. when I broke them they replaced them for half off. they are always happy to clean my sunglesses and got all the sand out of them when I had dropped them at the beach. One star docked because they are somewhat hard to reach via phone. read more

Very poor customer service. I bought a pair of sunglasses at one location, then they were too loose. When I had a chance I went to the location close to me and tried to return them, I received great customer service, they adjusted them as much as I could and said if they are still too loose I can return them to any location. I wore them once and they were still too loose. Finally tried to return them at this location. Walked into the store, two people were working. One had a customer paying. So I asked the other, a short man that works there if I can return, he said the girl at register would do it. So I was going to wait. Then he asks me to show him what I am returning, and I try to explain the situation to him, and he immediately says no you cannot return items that were on sale from another location. I'm pretty sure that's a lie, but if that is the case, that would be the last time I buy something at Sunglasses Hut read more
