I bought Ray-Ban sunglasses from the Sunglass Hut on the first floor of Macy's and it was the easiest experience thanks to Justin and Israel. Justin was so helpful and patient while I tried on a ton of glasses and chose my pair and, weeks later, Israel also helped adjust the glasses after I accidentally squished them and they became crooked. I went to this certain location literally 30 minutes before they close and this guy closed the door on us and started making signals with his hands for us to go away. I was very disappointed since I had called before arriving and he said that they close at 7 and I arrived at 6:30. He was prolly discriminating against me since I'm a person of color and I was with three of my friends, I knew what pair of shades I was gonna buy and he just decided to be lazy and stand there for the last 30 minutes till closing. Had an awkward experience today. Was at the mall with my family and my mom and I stopped to sit down and take a break. We looked over and an employee walked over to the door staring right at us and shut the door. My mom remarked that he was probably scared due to the recent smash and grabs that have taken place. But it just bothered me that he just looked at us and deemed us a threat and proceeded to stare at us periodically through the glass. Not sure if this is a new security protocol but it made me feel very uncomfortable. I was just sitting there with my disabled mother! My boyfriend had gotten a pair of Prada sport sunglasses a year or so ago and they needed adjusting. Justin was so helpful and patient while he tried to fix and assist the missing screw on the glasses. Isreal came shortly after and helped us too. Sunglass Huts are EVERYWHERE - case in point, Hillsdale mall has 2! Unfortunately, their systems aren't linked so you can't look for an order you placed at a different location. I bought a pair of sunglasses on vacation in Hawaii and 3 weeks later back home, they were crooked on my face. I tend to take good care of my sunglasses b/c 1) they are hella expensive and 2) you gotta be careful with your eyes so I was quite distressed to see my latest pair damaged. I called both locations in Hillsdale Mall and this one had the same pair I bought ... they had to call the Hawaii location (I was receipt-less) but it all worked out okay. Good day today! I almost never get lots of stuff done with one stop but today is different. I've been getting sunglasses at the Sunglass Hut now for well over 20 years. I get birthday half off coupons and lifetime service on the glasses I buy. This last trip was because I had a screw loose..... So loose it fell out. That happens on occasion and they fix them no problem, and this time no question. The nice young lady didn't even check my name in their system. Now I can wear my P's on this sunny beautiful freezing day! I should pull a Ferris Bueler and go skiing. It's much too nice out to be expected to stay indoors! read more

I came into Macys with no intentions on buying sunglasses but once I saw Sunglass hut, I had to stop by. I knew I wanted designer sunglasses but not sure of which brand. I was recommended two extremely nice pairs of Versace and I love them. My wife wanted to find some that fit her perfectly and the gentleman that helped us found some that she absolutely adores. I brought in a pair of sunglasses I'd just recently bought from another location to ask if this store carried them in a different size. When I handed them to the salesperson to take a look, I watched in horror as she manhandled my glasses by their lenses with her greasy paws, leaving thick prints all over them. Had she just gripped a hefty piece of fried chicken in those hands prior to my visit!? Also, what is an employee of a store that specializes in eye wear doing grabbing glasses by their lenses? WHERE IS YOUR COMMON SENSE. She at least answered my question. In the end, this is what I learned from my experience at this Sunglass Hut: they only carry RB2140s in one size (sucks), and the employee I was dealing with didn't know how to handle their wares. There are two Sunglass Huts in the Hillsdale Mall. I wanted some new sunglasses so I decided to check it out since I was in the area. I found a pair I liked but wanted to see if I could get the sunglasses with polarized lenses. The girl was nice about it did a thorough search in the store. She said that the computer system says the glasses were in but she couldn't find them in the store. She called the other store in the mall and told me that the sunglasses I wanted were in stock there. So I thanked her and headed over to the other location. I got there and the girl there provided me with the sunglasses. I liked them but I asked her about the polarized lenses and she told me that the sunglasses that I selected didn't come with polarized lenses! Ok. Hey, everyone can have a bad day or say something wrong. I give the first girl the benefit of the doubt that perhaps she just made a mistake. But it definitely goes to show that knowing your product is vitally important. It wasn't a big deal since I had to walk about 2 minutes to the next store. They didn't lose a sale. You couldn't find a more rude management! Was in the store to buy a pair of sunglasses with my husband and puppy. The guy behind the register asked us to leave because my puppy was a little too excited even though none of the other customers seemed uncomfortable. Also, it is a DOG FRIENDLY mall! Recently purchased a pair of Ray Bans from the Sunglass Hut on the second floor of Hillsdale Mall. A young lady was super helpful which helped make it an easy purchase. Today I had an older pair where one of the screws was loose. Stopped by the store for and was greeted by the store manager, Sylvia. Even though the store was super busy (day after Xmas) she was super helpful. Within a few minutes I walked out with a repair. Very happy customer and will return in the future. I would hire the 2 girls working last night..at 7:30pm for my business. 5/26/12 My husband and I needed new glasses, the girls at the store were very courteous and helpful. We both tried on many pairs, laughing at some my husband tried on. The girls had no problem opening the cases and letting us try on almost every one with smiles! I went in with my sunglasses that I had stepped on and broken a lens and two replacement lenses and the lady who replaced the lenses was so so kind. She replaced my lenses so much faster than I ever could have expected and apologized that it took so long. It was so unnecessary as I wasn't even in there 10 minutes I don't think! The absolute worst new store. How is there not a store manager or any manager around the day after Christmas? The day that is traditionally a shopping, return and exchange day?? And how can a store NOT be able to do an exchange for a higher priced item when the customer presents a receipt? The girl who helped me out yesterday was SO attentive and caring! I came on a Monday afternoon looking for a pair of Ray Bans. I visited LensCrafters before this but they didn't have the specific pair I wanted in stock, so I went to this LensCrafters, next to Nordstrom upstairs. I asked the associate if she carried the specific purple pair and she immediately went through the Ray Ban drawers and picked out all of the purple ones. Unfortunately, Sunglass Hut did not carry the pair I wanted - but I was so impressed with this woman! Definitely coming back if I need anything. read more

if I could give 0/5 stars, I would. they are friendly but I have major issues every time I come in for service. i am definitely not coming back to this location anymore. I came in about 2 years ago to get my cracked lenses replaced. I paid for the order, I left my frames at the store, and they told me about 2 weeks. I called after the second week and they accused me of taking my sunglasses home with me. after not believing me several times, they had to look through security footage and finally saw that i left the glasses with them. eventually I got my lenses replaced however that was not the end. I came in aug 1 to get the temple replaced after I had sat on them. they looked up the model #, ordered the parts, and I paid. they told me about 3 weeks max. it is now aug 30 and I called asking the status of my order and they said the could not find the transaction anywhere in their system and couldnt find the exact part they had ordered for me. they told me that they have to reorder the part again beacuse they lost the order. so now I have to wait even longer for my sunglasses because they are so unorganized and have terrible service. thank you for reading :) read more

Beware of their "30 day" policy. They tell you that you can keep the sunglasses up to 30 days and return them if you don't like them. It's written on the receipt that you can return them if they are in re-saleable condition. Hah! I purchased a pair and tried to return them less than 24 hours later. The glasses were in the same condition that I purchased them since I had not worn them-- I simply decided that $200 was too much to pay for cheap plastic and wanted my refund right away. When I went to return them, the guy made a big deal about cleaning them and inspected each lens. He then told me that they were scratched and that I could not return them. I couldn't believe he was telling me this since they were in the same exact condition that I purchased them! In the meantime, another customer came in to return glasses that she never wore and they were giving her a hard time as well. She had been given the run around the day before and was told she could have a refund if she brought in her receipt. They still denied the refund even after she came back with a copy. So if you buy glasses here, be sure that you want to keep them and don't be fooled about the 30-day return policy. Better yet --- you'll find a better deal from a street vendor -- the quality of glasses are the same! I ended up getting my refund but I want to post this warning to potential shoppers at Sunglass Hut International or SGI. read more

HORRIBLE customer service!! I bought some sunglasses online and wanted to exchange them because they didn't fit right. I went in there and first of all the gentleman standing behind the register didn't even acknowledge me or ask if I needed help. Second, when I told him what I wanted he instantly said he wasn't gonna be able to help me because I had bought them online and he didn't have access to the website. I have NEVER heard of or been to a place where I can't exchange a purchase made online & with a RECEIPT!!!! I don't know how what was going on in that store but when I called the Livermore store the person I spoke with was just as surprised as I was, he told me any store (excluding the ones Inside Macy's) should be able to return or exchange. I found it extremely frustrating not being able to do the exchange. And I know I will NOT go back to that store. read more
