So I went to the Orielly in redwood city for my wife's brake pads($61.00). It did not come with the clips. I went back to the Redwood city and I spoke tonthe guy who sold me the pads. It was hard when he can't speak English... I stopped by this place and I was lucky enough to find Eirik. He knew his stuff. I explained my problem with the clips; Eirik took his time and got what I needed. He was busy but he slowed down and listed to my issue. Eirik also gave me other options for my clips. Every time I order parts online from this store, it says to way to be notified when your order is ready. I never ever get notified even if I wait one day. So, i hall myself down to the store and by golly the parts have been pulled and are waiting. I mentioned this to the sales person and they apologize...okay, but then it occurs again the next time I order parts. I like this store because it is conveniently located near my home. I wish they would get on top of their game. I would think that as the order gets pulled they would immediately notify the customer. Nice auto shop Came here to grab some snow tire chains. The folks who work there are really nice, and helped me pick the ones that fit my car's tire size. They even helped me figure out how to do a practice-run on how to put on tire chains, because I had never put on snow tire chains before. Nice! After I paid for the snow chains, I found out the tire chain was missing one of the snap-holders, they quickly gave me one for free. Nice service. The price is also pretty cheap compared to other auto shops. The selection inside is LARGE, with large shelves of items for sale. They also know where everything is, so the service is quick--they just grab things directly because they know where everything is directly. A nice place to go for auto parts. read more

I am super disappointed in the customer service of this location. I also echo the sentiments of the post by Freddie on 2/11/23, the same thing happened to my dad. My dad brought in a car battery that needed to be charged. He left it there overnight like the clerk said to. He came back the next day and the same person who he talked with the day before told him that the battery did not hold a charge. My dad then took it somewhere else and it charged just fine. Were they trying to get us to buy another car battery? The guy was very dismissive, was it because we are Latinos? Did the clerk does not want to do his job? Very disappointing. If this is the way that people are treated. I will never do business with this company and I will make sure that none of my friends do either. What an unfortunate situation. Perhaps it's something that the Better Business Bureau, the Chamber of Commerce or the city needs to know about? read more

Needed to find a specific compound remover for some stains on my car. The guys here are super helpful. I'd done some research prior to stopping by, but still had a few more questions. I wondered if the cloths I already had were good enough, and while the worker said I could get another one that's slightly better, he said the one I had would work. This place is really hit or miss for me with the service. The few times I have been here, they had what I needed. I went to check if they had a car battery and Eric helped me find the battery. He was real good and helpful and told me when I was ready to buy the battery to come back when it was less busy to have someone in the store help me install the battery. Javier was not so helpful when I came back to buy the battery and get it installed early in the morning as he gave me a tool and told me to just do it myself in the parking lot. Luckily Oscar was much more helpful and helped me with the install and he also helped with an easy windshield wiper install. SHOUT OUT to Oscar for his great service! read more

I got out to my car after work to find the battery dead and was due to a business dinner in just a few minutes. I took an Uber to dinner, but called O'Reilly on my way to see if they carried jump packs (instead of having to wait for a tow truck to come jump me after dinner). They did, and the person who took my call, Jacob, was kind enough to even charge it for me in advance to make sure I could get my car to start and get home after. Top notch customer service! Or so I thought... Unfortunately, the jump packs came in two prices (roughly $29.99 and roughly $59.99) and after assuring me the less expensive option would be totally sufficient to start my car, I asked him to pull that item aside to charge. When I showed up, however, he told me the jump pack was actually $49.99, and when I got the receipt, it was actually charged at the top level $59.99. I still really appreciate him making sure I got home, but felt taken advantage of in that by the time I showed up, the only option I had was to take the fully charged (but double priced) item. read more

This five stars is for Dino. I was there 5 min before they close. I bought my stuff and I wanted a Cigarette fuse but I did not know what the fuse shape or amp! So i did not buy and when I went out I met Dino outside as he was about to leave. He asked me if I bought the fuse I told him I didn't know which one. Large store with a-lot of parts in stock but their staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. I've had two bad experiences when I tried to use warranty and get replacement. Both times they made excuses and made the process hard so if I didn't insist I would never get the replacement. Same story when I visited this store to get battery warranty replacement. They tested my battery and alternator and told me my alternator is bad not the battery. They tried to sell me a cheap chinese alternator and convinced meToyota's OEM is bad. I was about to make that mistake but I'm glad I didn't and I took my car to two other mechanic shops and they said nothing wrong with alternator. So I lost my confidence about O'Reilly auto parts and especially this store. Either they need to be trained how to test alternators or they just wanted to get rid customers who want to use warranty or even rip them off to sell parts they dont need. read more

Today is a sad day. My buddy from LA was in town this weekend to pickup my, errrr his, truck. I sold my truck today oh boy, the metrosexuals have just won the war (to the tune of the Beatles' "Day in the Life"). Sans truck my only transpo now is my motorcycle, and it was having trouble starting. I had to get it operational fast. So we ran out to the neighborhood auto parts store for some starter fluid. This store always has very helpful and friendly service. Anything you need they will point you down the right aisle, or even if you need help with a part number or anything. And the one guy, perhaps he's the manager, always will chat it up with you. Very cheerful service. Anything you need, oil/filter, tire patch kit (not Cabbage Patch Kid), fix-a-flat, plugs, wires, its all there. Today I even saw that they sell a fishing rod/reel combo... how random is that? I've come here for replacement wiper blades, coolant, and miscellaneous car parts. It's easy to find which model part your car needs because there are electronic machines and/or books in front of the parts for you to look up your car model. When in doubt, ask for help. The sales associates can be pretty helpful. I can't compare prices for car parts, but for car washing supplies, go to Costco instead. I bought a pack of microfiber towels and microfiber mitts at Costco for $3-4 cheaper than at Kragen. read more

Last time I was here, was helped but a great employee and gave a four star review. Well he no longer works there, and my experience last time was not great. The white blonde fat guy who gets too much sun had attitude, and actually blamed my card for the swipe machine not working. It had just worked ten minutes earlier at another store and when I mentioned that he become even more impatient with me. I paid in cash just to get out of there, and lucky I had enough too. And then when I had to return a couple of days later to return the wrong item what was sold to me, I caught attitude again by a different worker, some short Mexican guy. He insisted that I give my phone number to do the return, which was weird since I never gave my phone number to do the purchase. When I protested, saying I just wanted my cash back he said. ."this is the way we do it and if you want your money you do it my way." Really? I gave him my phone number, wondering if it had more to do with my cleavage than the return. Today when I needed to make another purchase, guess what?? I avoided this location entirely. I drove out of my way to the one in San Carlos, and it was a much nicer experience being waited on my gentleman VS. cavemen. read more

Called my mechanic to ask about the cost of replacing both headlights in my 2004 Volkswagen Jetta. He said $20 per bulb (basic) and $50 per bulb installation....so we're talking $140. I do some research, call up O'Reilly's and tell them the situation. Will, (I think that was his name) asked me to come in and pick up the bulbs for about $10 a pop, gave me the style number and he also went over the other brighter bulb options. I ended up making my purchase and sales associate Douglas was super helpful and friendly. I'll definitely be back and I plan on telling my coworkers and friends to venture there as well. FRAUD ALERT. The guy at the front counter tried to cheat me today. I went in to buy a blinker bulb, and when I checked out, I saw an additional charge for "4g Grease" at $1.49 on the credit card receipt. I asked what the grease was, and he had no response for a while, and then said, "It's this," and pointed to a packet of grease on a peg by the register. I said, "Do I need it?". No response, so I grabbed it and added it to my pile, since I guess I had just purchased it. Terrible, shady store. The salesperson was a short, Latino guy. I didn't get his name. read more

Waste of time don't bother- it's been months between my visits and it's just as bad. To make it easier I purchase things online and then pick them up in the store. The last time I came in it was a madhouse and I just pointed to what I had ordered and the guy just handed it to me without checking anything. But then again they couldn't get any but one register to work and there were quite a few people trying to buy stuff. It was a disaster. Around to order it again some thing online paid for it came into the store the employees were just standing at the counter no one had gone to get my order yet. To top it all off they were completely out of it and said I could wait for it to come in or get a refund so I chose a refund. Once again they couldn't get the registers to work right- he couldn't give me a printed copy of my refund and he went to different computers to try. Not even an apology really when I walked out of the store. Won't go back there again it's just not worth it - I was perfectly comfortable at home but decided I wanted to get it today and they said it was available. I needed a place to rant about my weird experience here. My car's headlight went out so I went to the sales guy, gave him my make/model of my car. He then tells me there are two types of headlights for my make/model: a standard one and a high-intensity one. I told him that I'm pretty sure I have the standard one but he insisted that I find out before I buy it. Then I told him, I don't have xenon lights and that I have the standard lights so wouldn't that mean I have the standard ones and he says, 'no it's completely different thing'........ Um, I think I know my car better than you! He wouldn't even give me the part number! I might be a woman but I customized my car so I know which headlights I ordered!! I go to another sales guy to get the part number. The first guy then tells me, 'don't open the package until you're sure' and, 'don't lose the receipt because you'll need it to return it.'
