We had a really bad experience with this company. It took over a week to schedule them to come out. We scheduled service to have a chair cleaned in a backroom at my elderly fathers home. The gentleman came in and my father asked him not to walk on the carpet with his shoes. The worked refused and said he must keep his shoes on, which is reasonable. What is not reasonable was the worker also refused to wear disposable shoe covers that he could slip over his boots that my father offered. Instead the worker left and told my father to get someone else. I was not there so I called to speak to the worker (I had his number because he called me to say he was on his way) The worker in a real negative tone told me to call the company phone and hung on me. I called the Company and spoke to Mark the manager who was very polite and said the the worker is like that and even though they provide them with booties to wear this guy who must have been having a bad day doesn't like to wear them. Mark never offered to send anyone else out to clean the chair but only talked about how this guy was a good worker. I can not help but wonder if there was some other reason that this suburban company responded this way when coming to a service call in Detroit. Either way, I won't be calling them ever again and hope you don't either. read more

We had the carpets cleaned before by another company and it was not that great. So when I saw the special for 5 rooms, hall, and stairs for $135 I was skeptical but figured I could get it done now and then go back over it again later myself and it would not take as long. Boy was I pleasantly surprised when the job was done. Drew (our tech) was really thorough and polite. When he was done the carpets looked like new and all the spots, even the heavy traffic areas were clean. Now I am not saying it looked the same as a new carpet but it brought life back to our old carpeted upstairs floors! A couple months ago, I broke a gallon of olive oil on my carpet. It left a huge 3 by 4 foot dark stain on my carpet. I tried multiple home remedies and none of them worked. I needed to get my Living Room and Hallway carpets along with a Sofa and Loveseat cleaned so I called around to a few places to get some quotes first. Modernistic was the first place I called because I am always seeing ads in the mail and on TV for them, but they are just way too overpriced. They wanted $190.00 to do the work I needed while every other place I called was around $70.00 to $80.00 cheaper. Like one of my wifes designer purses, to me it seemed like you were playing for the name more then anything else. Sunglo seemed to be the best price for what I wanted and the gentleman who assisted me on the phone was very nice and answered all of the questions I had. To be honest though one of the only reasons I called them in the first place was because their name reminded me of the "Sunshine Carpet Cleaners" cult from Seinfeld which had me laughing. I called on a Monday and was able to schedule someone to come out that Wednesday. The technician showed up on time and explained what he was going to do and asked if I had any other questions. About an hour later he was finished and the carpets and furniture looked great. My only complaint that kept this from getting a full five star review is that when I called and scheduled I asked if they moved furniture such as a TV stand to clean under it or did I need to do that and was told they will move it and if they feel they need your assistance to make sure nothing gets broken they will ask. Well the guy who cleaned my carpet stated otherwise and told me he doesn't move any furniture other then couches, chairs, coffee tables and loveseats. I offered to move it away for him and he still didn't feel comfortable cleaning that portion of the carpet because he didn't want to risk putting the stand back on wet carpet and possible warping the wood or staining the carpet from the stands varnish. While that is understandable, isn't that what those foam blocks are for - keeping furniture off of the wet carpet while it dries? One other thing that kept this from getting a perfect review was a spot that was missed by my front door where the carpet ends and meets the tile, to which I was able to clean myself with a little bit of OxyClean. All in all the price and experience was a pretty good one. I will definitely call them again if I need any other rooms cleaned, but next time I will make sure I personally move any furniture around so that the entire carpet can be cleaned. read more

They do good carpet steam vacuum cleaning but not for tough stains. We were told on the phone that they will take care of stains but apparently this is very special and pricey job and not included! But that was the reason I got them is the stains. The price is average and similar to competitors. Showed up on time and he worked hard and non stop. We checked several carpet cleaning companies. When I called Sun Glow and the person told me it would only be $49.00 dollars for my living room and hall I was skeptical. They were able to come out the next day, and what a surprise. For $49.00 my wife and I got the shock of our life. The carpet looked brand new again. It was absolutely beautiful and at what we call 1960's prices. We will be calling Sun Glow from now on and will recommend them to all our family and friends. Moved our furniture w/o giving us grief to a certain extend except our king bed which was fine. Had a million dog pee and poop stains and none are left. I found SunGlo on Angie's List. They were local...and they were highly rated. They came out this afternoon to clean carpet that was very soiled. It was in our rental home. I thought that the carpet just might be beyond saving...it was really soiled. SunGlo sent out a wonderful technician named Henry to clean our carpet. He was so pleasant, helpful and friendly! He really worked hard on that carpet, taking his time and doing the job right. When he was finished, it looked nearly new. We couldn't believe how good the carpet looked when he was done. When I took my curtains down the next day in my dining room (because the guy put them up when cleaning the carpets) I had a big hole in my wall, it went through the dry wall too! We just painted that room so the hole was not there! I called and complained but the guy said he didn't do it. He did because it wasn't there before we had our carpets cleaned. Mike is a blatant racist, extremely immature and unprofessional. I've done business with Sun glo multiple times and I was always happy with their service. This last time I made an appointment and was unable to keep it because my business cell phone was stolen, so naturally my top priority was to get the phone recovered along with all my contacts (I am currently in real estate and all the info. on my phone is regarding upcoming appointments, laborers, and files like lease and land contracts that are not backed up). Once that was taken care of, the next thing I did was to call Mike and apologize for not keeping the appointment and explain what happened. I spoke to another associate and they said it's fine and scheduled me for a different date. I call back a couple hours later to verify the appointment and Mike goes off on a profane rant because of the missed appointment. He tells me about why I'm such an asshole and he hates working with Arabs to begin with and that he will never ALLOW me to do business with him again. He also went on to tell me how stupid I am for how I went about taking care of my business and basically not putting him on the top of my priority list. After all that's said and done, he has no problem fighting and cussing out customers for reasons that are bound to happen, like missed appointments.
