I sent an email each morning with my concerns. Apparently, the email was NOT read by the "powers that be" and I was using the wrong email address. Therefore, I was not getting a response. I was finally contacted by Amanda, a representative for Plumlee. The items in the condo were not fixed during our stay, but they were able to get the AC working when it went out. Amanda was pleasant and informative.

All three bedrooms in our unit need new beds and were told it was out of there hands and up to the owners. The oven took over an hour to get to temperature and both showers had no water pressure and didn't drain properly. The room was clean & big because I needed a wheelchair accessible room. It exceeded my expectations as well. Had a great little balcony, expansive roll in shower & two Queen beds. We went to the lovely restaurant in the hotel which had a nice selection of seafood & an impressive wine list as well! I really enjoyed my weekend stay here for the comfort factor and being so relaxed & enjoyable! They do have a big pool with swim up bar attached. I wasn't able to utilize it due to my disability but it looked great & enjoyable from what I saw from my balcony. I recommend staying there just because of the fact it's relaxing and close to many other great restaurants & the Don Cesar is across the street as well! I'll stay here again!

Rooms 3 stars (We had a gulf view) you can tell they have upgraded the kitchen and bathrooms, everything else dated and a little run down Hallways, Stairs, elevators 1 star kind of nasty and very loud at all hours.. (Especially stairwells-scary). Kind of place if you're young or on a budget you can over look a lot. If you are accustomed to above average accommodations you should avoid. The property is well maintained and clean. There are volleyball, tennis, shuffle board, and corn hole courts free for use. Two medium size pools with hot tubs. BBQ areas for those who wants to grill. Plenty of secured indoor parking avoiding the hot sun (your car will thank you for that). Good WiFi connectivity. And of course, the amazing beach in their backyard along with a beach bar serving any drinks you want. If you choose this place, it is a must to reserve a beach view room. Nothing else will justify. My room came with 2 queen beds and a couch with a pull out couch along with a small kitchenette (full-size fridge, stove, dish washer, and kitchen ware). Pretty good size dining room table for eating in. But the biggest disappointment is the bathroom. Alden resort needs to remodel the bathroom. The ware and tare throughout the years are showing bad. Handicap accessible bathroom does not mean just adding a bar and in the wrong place. The staff are respectful, courteous, and provides great service. Overall, my family stay was great and this will always be an option for get away/staycation.

The number one amenity, hands down, is their pool with the waterfall, which not only provides a vacation ambiance, but blocks the street noise of Blind Pass Road. The rooms have cold A/C and hot showers, with a shower head wand for your convenience. The kitchenette is tidy, and while not exceptionally well equipped, they do provide Folger's coffee in a 4 cup pot instead of a Keurig. Make sure your room has an instruction sheet on the door with everything you need to know about housekeeping, the wifi, etc. Management is in the middle of upgrades, so hopefully every room will include one soon!

Tis our 2nd year staying at the Shack ... this time was two weeks in February! Plus we've already…read morebooked for another season ... yes, another two weeks! We absolutely love staying right on the beach with first floor access ... with a king bed & walk-in shower! Yes, we do bring a few of our favorite things from home but we drive so we are able to do so ... however ... if you plan to fly - you don't need anything but your bathing suits & some clothes because Ann supples everything! There's adequate parking & the condo is close to CVS, a big souvenir shop & Crabby Bill's restaurant is great for lunch or dinner! If you are looking for a big place with lots of action, a pool and spa ... I'd say you need to pass this place by but if you are looking for one of the nicest beaches (a few feet away), beautiful sunsets & a quiet cozy atmosphere ... then the Shack is perfect! We did visit a few local spots for dinner but we mostly enjoyed grilling burgers or local shrimp & watching sunset!

We say that if Ann does not have it in the condo then we probably do not need it! This is truly a gulf front condo. Location...Location...Location! this condo has the best location! the trolley stops in back of the condo, you are walking distance to a pharmacy, grocer, museum, post office, coffee shop, and some of the best restaurants around. ( our morning walks down the beach to the Lighthouse donut shop has become a tradition...be sure and get the apple fritter) There is nothing better than walking out the sliders and sinking our toes in the warm sand. Beaches are beautiful, and sunsets are amazing. Ann even has torches and a table you can set up on the beach for a romantic dinner! This condo has become our "Heaven on Earth!". If you want to adventure beyond the area you can take the trolly up to Clearwater beach to the pier or down to Johns Pass. The trolley even goes down to St. Pete's beach! I could not imagine a year without visiting "the shack on the sand"! ( this shack is no shack!!)

As we were the first to arrive that week, we were able to see all of the rooms in the inn. All are very clean and really cozy and comfortable. This place is amazingly clean. We even commented how nice it smelled when we arrived. The Inn has covered parking for two cars and is just across the street from the beach. Bill has everything you need for a great day at the beach - chairs, umbrellas, and a couple of floats :) He also offers a 5:30 wine tasting. it is a great way to unwind and chat with new friends. Kudos to Bill and his outstanding Bed and Breakfast. Would love to keep this place a secret but Bill is such a great guy - we are happy to spread the word.

Never book a stay here, the pictures are misleading and catfishing people is probably the only way they're still in business. If I could rate it zero stars I so would.
