We checked in on Thurs., Dec. 10th and stayed until Tues., Dec. 15th, coming into the Tampa area to witness and celebrate our daughter's graduation from USF. To begin with, checking in was a breeze, the grounds are incredibly clean and well-kept. The tropical foliage, palm trees and landscaping create this Utopian effect and you feel, well...relaxed. The resort houses approx. 35 - 45 condo-style units that give you a far better value than some of the competing hotels. I completely spaced taking pics of the interior while there but I can describe it as being fully furnished with stainless steel appliances, a breakfast dining area, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and approx. 1000 sq ft. The master bdr features one of the most comfortable king size beds I've ever slept on and I woke up each morning, feeling entirely refreshed. I'm gonna need to know the brand and style of mattress that was, when you read this, Westwinds! The place was super clean, fully stocked with a variety of towels, spacious and had a nice layout to it. The wildlife surrounding the resort were also quite the sight to see, as were the multiple dolphin sightings at the rear of the resort. The pool was crystal clear, heated and very clean. The only issues we encountered were very minor and weigh nominally on this review. Our shower head seemed to have a mind of it's own by spraying multiple directions due to some hard water build up in the shower head jets. When I adjusted the water flow to a more powerful stream, it worked fine and I just had to adapt to a thinner, high-pressure stream. The other notable issue that may also require 10 mins of attention by the maintenance tech, would be to adjust or replace the toilet lever. In order to accomplish a full flush, the handle had to be held down for approx. 3 - 4 seconds, rather than a press and release. Lastly, in the front guest bedroom, the ceiling fan was off-camber and made a significant humming noise, no matter the speed. Once again...minor issues. The service provided to my family and I, by Leslie, was nothing short of wonderful. Leslie is the main property manager and seems to do it all on the grounds. She was awesome. So awesome, as a matter of fact, we took her down some homemade taco soup, prepared by my wife the evening before. We felt genuinely welcomed and valued the entire time we stayed. We will be back and we will be staying at Westwinds once more. This place was great!!! Thank you! SCORE: 4.5 STARS!!

The Bilmar Sloppy Joes has admirable sized Margaritas (62 oz) if you like something stronger.

If you are in a studio, one bedroom, or two bedroom, you have one car pass for the group. If you have a three bedroom, then you can receive two car passes. Due to its small footprint, parking is limited but sufficient. And the room was absolutely spotlessly clean, very well equipped, and everything was in working order. Very comfortable and a cool respite from the unrelentless sun. When leaving the unit, it is recommended to always draw the blackouts to help conserve the energy and the AC's function. You'll be glad you did. We did not get a chance to utilize the pool, but it looked like it was being put to good use with lots of happy people. It was easy to walk out to the beach so we utilized the beach every day of our stay. The hotel is easily walkable to John's pass Village and all the restaurants and shops there. The breakfast served each morning was fresh and tasty and always well-attended by the hotel guests. I would recommend getting there earlier versus later to avoid the crowds (7-10 AM). In addition to Kayla, Gavin was quite friendly and helpful at the front desk. All around, the the associates we encountered in any of the areas of the resort were engaged and interactive with the customers. Quite a guest-centric team. When I say this hotel is right on the beach, I am not exaggerating. It is RIGHT on the beach, with a private access through the pool and patio area. It was quiet, clean, and the view was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed walking right out onto the beach, and the beach was not busy at all! We were able to find a sand dollar and some shells. AVOID-AVOID! This…read moreplace will nickel and dime you left and right. It first started with check in. Most hotels c resorts and places do not charge you $50 to checkin 2 hours early. Since we were arriving before 4 I was like sure let's get to our room early. We got checked between 2:30 & 3pm, cost us $50 extra, plus tax. Fast forward to our room. It was fine, but the deadbolt wouldn't lock. Maintenance quickly came and said it's due to people flipped the deadbolt out and then letting the door slam on it so it won't lock. He got it working. Day two while gone housekeeping stopped by and messed up the deadbolt. It's their own staff doing it, not solely guests. So as a HUGE safety issue, we couldn't get our deadbolt fixed night two. Again, huge safety concern. Like to have a drink by the pool? Good luck! This place is terrible. Per their rules: You may NOT bring a cooler to the pool. You may NOT bring outside alcoholic beverages to the pool. They do NOT have pool service nor a pool bar for drinks. You must dry off, go up to the second floor to the receptionist, and buy their $8 beer, then go back downstairs to the pool area. (NOT KIDDING) Their mini golf course is not a course, it's 4 holes. They have 32 lounge chairs and only 5 umbrellas. Pool closes at 9 although they had a sign posted it was closed due to sanitation issues. Although people got in, we didn't because of the sign. So that was unavailable for the two days we were there. Housekeeping is sloppy. Thrown towels on the counter. Towels frayed. The place sleeps more than two as we had two bedrooms, but they will charge you $20 per extra adult. Parking is limited but they still charge you extra if you park more than one car. They include a resort fee and this place is FAR FROM A RESORT! They just want to nickel and dime you. From a safety standpoint, don't stay here. From not able to enjoy your own adult beverages by the pool, don't stay here. From no pool or bar service, don't stay here. From the room allowing more than two adults to sleep there but they charge you for more than two adults, don't stay here. From checking in two hours early and charging $50, don't stay here. I'll admit, the folks at the front desk are nice. But they don't set the rules to nickel and dime guests on everything. Do yourself a favor, AVOID THIS PLACE!

Then i pulled it back to find several what looked like pubes or possibly body hair in and on the sheets. So I'm thinking there's no way this gets worse but I pull the fitted sheet back to then find a VOMIT stain on the mattress pad, right by the head of the mattress wtf. (which was fresh bc it smelled like vomit, or maybe they just haven't ever changed the sheets once), and it gets better, freshly hardened, picked & still green BOOGERS on the fucking pillowcases. There were brown stains on the pull out couch mattress and stains on the couch pillows. But, PUBES. IN. THE. BED. Fuck. Safe to say we gathered our things and went somewhere else. I don't care if you are a motel 6 or the the Hilton you have an obligation to your paying customers to at the very least common cleanliness, it's not just good business but, basic human respect of another person to provide the bare minimum. The view is beautiful and that's all I can really say about the place. I truly wanted to love it but I couldn't.

I decided on Treasure Island for late summer get away before PA weather turns tough. My only regret is coming to FL during August as the humidity was tough but this stay made it better. Like others note - there is a Publix grocery store across the street & was easy for us to walk to; also walkable few restaurants (we tried sloppy Joe's) & other few stores. We used ride share our whole time there & it was pretty convenient, rides to/from st.pete tend to be higher, rides to St. John's boardwalk were super affordable (going that area was our fav). Easy accessible to Tropicana ballpark. Page Terrace is family owned, they all seemed nice & there was a maid that came daily. If you don't need her to come, you can say that. They let us check in to our room a couple hours early, which I appreciated. There's free coffee in the morning & right outside the hotel is a walking trail that's very nice. The waters edge for the beach is a nice few min walk but easy to do. The pool is very nice - water felt like hot tub. The beds were very comfortable & I appreciated all the necessities in the kitchenette. Overall we loved our stay & would be back if ever in the area.
