The staff was lovely and friendly, but the facility is basic in every way. I did a "Level 3" tan (their best), which is very low compared to what I've experienced across the country. All of their lotions are cheap, which isn't a good thing to me. I would have paid a few bucks more for a higher quality product. I have never left a review before and I will preface this by saying I've only been to 2 other tanning salons in the city. I moved, and this business is more conveniently located. Having only this limited experience, I can only compare this facility to the others I've been to. As others have stated, this is very very basic. They did not offer protecting eyewear. You have an option to buy some, if they have them, they did not the times I went. The receptionist was unclear about the options for levels. So I began with level 1. I was told all levels had a 12 minute limit. I upgraded to level 2 upon my next visit because I was told the bed bulbs were stronger. The gentleman told me the beds turn on after 3 minutes of being in the room, I waited 8 and pressed the button on the bed myself. To my surprise the bed allowed up to 20 minutes. I set my own timer on my phone because I wasn't ready for the full 20. The fan in the level 2 room was broken and would barely blow air. I informed the front desk person about the fan. My next visit I, again, had to press the button on the bed and time my session. The fan was still working horribly. I suppose my experience was unsatisfactory because of my previous tanning salons. In the other salons the rooms and beds would actually smell sterilized when you'd walk in. Fans worked in all rooms. Goggles and towels were provided for you in each room. Friendly and helpful staff were always happy to see you and help you. They were also informative about their menu and clear about instructions. I only attended this salon for a few sessions. Bought a month of unlimited tanning about a week ago and so far this place is great. I got the level 3 tanning bed because it is a stand up. It was a little more money but if someone is using it and and i'm short on time I can use either of the other two lay down beds they have (level 1 and 2). So far i have not had a problem walking right in though. Staff is always friendly when i go in there. Just wished the beds had the option to listen to music in them but that's something I can live without for the 10 minutes I'm there. read more

Worst place ever... I don't know where to begin. The beds left me with stripes down my legs. The staff was so unknowledgeable. The staff was rude. The staff never answered the phone, but if you do manage to get ahold of them to make an appointment then they just say "they'll pass the message along" and you will NEVER get a call back. It took me over a month to get my spray tan appointment. The spray tanning lady was nice, however, she would take weeks to text me back. This was very frustrating because i was going on vacation and wanted the spray tan done before i left (keep in mind i told her about 3 weeks in advanced that i needed it done before a certain time) and instead of being professional and saying she wouldn't be able to get me in before my vacation she would just text me once every week or so that "she could get to me soon". Needless to say i didn't get my spray tan for the vacation. Fast forward to now, i purchase a Groupon for lash extension for an upcoming trip. SAME THING. Call the front desk during hours they are open. No answer. Try again the next day. Nothing. Try again the next week. STILL NOTHING. About a few days after that i call again and surprisingly get an answer. The guy on the phone says he'll have the lady who does lash extensions call me back to make an appointment. Few days after that phone call and i still have not gotten a call to make an appointment. Forget this place! So i cancel my Groupon and within 10 minutes of buying a new Groupon i have my appointment for lash extensions set with another company. I've never seen a company so horribly run, and if you're thinking about going here then save yourself the trouble and don't!!! Just go anywhere else!! Save yourself and your sanity and avoid dealing with these people!! I can't wait to never ever go back to this place! read more

Customer service is horrible. The guy who sits at the front has very bad people skills. Doesn't even welcome you into the buisness. You would think being a local business they would try to work with customers so they can tell people how good they are. The beds Suck, I recommend going to 1st and tan, or even suncare. Purchased a groupon for eyelash extensions. I called to make an appt. The lady said they did not have an esthetician on staff but should have one hired by the following Monday. She took my name & number and the date I was requesting and said it should not be a problem. I did not hear back so I called and the man I spoke to said they were booked through the week and there was nothing he could do. He was extremely rude. I said ok and let it go. Decided to try again to see if I could have better luck with the lady, he answered again so I just hung up. He calls back asking why I just called an hung up, I told him I called and changed my mind and I hung up again. He calls back again asking to speak to a manager...??? And say what??? I hung up on you??? Maybe you shouldn't be a jerk!! Go elsewhere but avoid this place!! read more

Absolutely horrible service. I bought a months worth of tanning in the tanning bed, and had to fly to another state for a family emergency. I asked them how I could do that, and still get my money's worth. They told me I could put my account on "pause" and when I got back it would resume normally. I did that, and once I came back they "had no record of putting it on pause" and said they would call me back. They never called me back, I called again, they were rude and said that they didn't know. Horrible customer service. Should never have waisted my money. read more

Am I able to give a ZERO STAR rating? I am so unhappy with the customer service of this tanning salon. I have been to many tanning salons all over the city of Albuquerque, and this, BY FAR, is the worst (with customer service) I never write reviews, and I am writing this in hopes management will see and take charge. I walk in Friday around 3pm (November 17th) and I am not greeted, at all. I walk up to the desk and a young girl just sits there in her seat. I am only 5'1, so I can barely see over the counter to make eye contact with her. (It's a very high counter) She NEVER gets up out of her chair while speaking to me. I ask her questions about the groupon I bought online, and her answers were short and non-informative. Her attitude is very demeaning, and I felt extremely unwelcome and unwanted. I work in customer service and I have for 13 years now. You are supposed to make things easy on the customer. You're supposed to help them when they are new. Make them feel you appreciate their business. When she walks me to my room, I had no idea protective eye glasses were not provided. I start my session, and I have to get dressed again, and go ask her if she has any eye glasses. She just points to a sign and says you buy them. And I have never had to buy those before so I didn't know, and I was confused. I asked her why, and she was bothered that I wanted to know. I had made it apparent I was not happy already, and when she was rude about the eye ware, I was even more upset. I bought my glasses, got in the tanning bed, and when I was done I said thank you and left. She also failed to tell me the hours change. I come to the salon the very next day, because I bought this 30day Groupon, I wish I didn't now, and the doors are locked! The door says, 'time changes due to winter months' (cool good to know), but online it says theyre open. I get back in my car and try to call the company. Get this, the SAME girl from yesterday walks out of the front door. I got out of my car and I asked her if they were closed because she didn't inform me yesterday the hours change and that she would be closing as early as 2! Would've been good to know since I told her yesterday I had never been there before. Would have been good to know the hours change and they are closed on Sundays for winter as well, before I drove back again tomorrow. When I asked her why she was closing at 2, All she said to me was, "the hours change". And I asked her what the hours were for future notice and so I can plan my days. She told me some weird hours for saturdays. Didn't apologize. And now I'm very upset and I just thought I would be treated better spending my money at a certain company when I could go anywhere else. I thought people would have better customer service and be more informative when it is your first time. I guess I should not expect much from this company. I wish I could take back my groupon and use it somewhere else. I hope she isn't working every time I come in. She needs to learn to talk to customers. I know she remembered me and my bad experience yesterday. If I was her, I would have offered to let me in and give me a session to keep the customer happy. Normally they close at 4, and it was 2. This tanning salon always feels rushed and inconsiderate. The people at the front desk are frequently rude and seem to have no time to be bothered with whoever walks in the door. I bought a Groupon for this salon last year. A year later and I see they are offering another Groupon. I purchased it ONLY bcuz 1) the location is nearest my house and 2) the fine print. Let me explain: The Groupon's fine print reads exactly this: "Merchant's standard cancellation policy applies (any fees not to exceed Groupon price. Limit 1 per person, may buy 1 as additional gift. Limit 1 per visit. Valid for only option purchased. All goods or services must be used by the same person. Spray tan by appointment only." Nothing in there does it say "for new clients only." The specific Groupon deal I purchased was a different deal than that of which I had previously purchased. When I arrived at the salon, the boy at the front desk was far from helpful and only said he couldn't do anything. After insisting on getting the manager's number, I called to only be even further upset. Edward Romero was rude, short, not whatsoever apologetic and then further told me to "get over it". I wasn't looking for any compensation (as I'm aware the refund would have to go through Groupon,) but I was simply (POLITELY) trying to explain to him the difference in the Groupon saying "FOR NEW CLIENTS ONLY" vs "1 PER PERSON". He proceeded to tell me to stop telling him how to run his business when I suggested he get in contact with Groupon and have them change the fine print so others wouldn't experience this same thing. All other tanning salons on Groupon say "new clients only" OR some even say "returning customers welcome". Edward didn't want to listen to anything but just wanted to be defensive. I would highly suggest using another salon considering the owner of Sun Kiss'd is such a rude, unprofessional person. There are an abundance of other salons that WANT your business. read more

This is the most disgusting tanning salon ever if you can call it that!!! Only two beds one of which always had bulbs out during the time I went. Goggles are not provided you have to buy them and then they don't even have them to buy. The place is filthy the rug in front of the bed that worked was so nasty I was afraid to take my shoes off. Young kids run the place it seemed like a hang out. So disappointing will never go back there. read more

This is my first tanning bed experience, but I'm very pleased. As another reviewer pointed out, it is basic. I've only used the Level I beds but they do their thing well and are always clean. The staff is friendly and I'm happy with my results. Pricing is reasonable and I'd definitely recommend it to a friend. read more

I have never left a review for anyone before but I had to for this place. Looks like others feel the same way. Not going back. I have been going to this place off and on for two years and I am fed up with their quality of customer service. The people at the front desk are unprofessional and one person tells you one thing and another tells you something else. They treat you like an inconvenience rather than a customer. I used to love coming here as the staff was very helpful and friendly but recently it has been ridiculous. I'm pretty sure the owner is one of the two people I'm frustrated with. When extending out my month of tanning they did it wrong so I got jipped some days. I asked nicely multiple times about it but get different answers every time and they try to just get you to stop talking ASAP by saying what you want to hear. Specifically the girl working there now.. I'm just tired of it. I think what's wrong about the situation is that once they get your money up front for the one month tanning then they care less about how they treat you. They make no accommodations and even when I go by and they are closed or something is not working they won't extend my time even though I paid for those days.. Also they run another business out of this one which is weird and unprofessional.. and the girl who works there brings in her boyfriend and they sit on the couch together while she is working.. constant cussing from staff. So, the owner Edward Romero saw my review and believe it or not actually sent me a FB message! How unprofessional! We're not friends on FB, I had no idea how he even looked like yet alone his name. Why not call me or email me with my info on file? I have to admit it's weird and a bit of stalker behavior. He thanked me for writing the review and how I thought of him personally (sarcastically of course). His words verbatim after thanking me were these: "I will go ahead and cancel your membership see how many times you've used our drastically declining bed 3 and charge you for the sessions you've used and refund you back the difference". He then said he hopes I find a tanning salon more suitable to my needs. First of all, damn right I will! A real up to date and professional salon matter of fact. Also charging me for the sessions I've already used and refunding me back the difference? Does he think I'm as naive as he is when it comes to business? Obviously I purchased the package with unlimited sessions because it comes out extremely cheaper than paying per session. So if I used the bed 5 times that would approximately be my $50 that I spent on the unlimited tanning for the month. I don't think so. Sadly he did not want to refund me my $ or extend my monthly membership the extra 3 days that I lost due to the lack of quality provided at his business. So therefore I will continue to tan until my month is up or unless I get a full refund. Hope this confirms to customers just how this place works. I hope this will be the end. I'm starting to wonder if I'm actually safe since he has my address on file. If I feel harassed by this man again I will contact the authorities. Just wanted to write a recommendation for this tanning salon. The place is clean and works exactly as it should....little or no wait time. Open everyday so there is no worry about getting a chance to use the services. The employee I've dealt with on numerous occasions, Valerie, does an awesome job welcoming you, making sure you are comfortable in the surroundings, describing the benefits of the lotions and such. She is so friendly and I really enjoy visiting Sun Kiss'd Tanning Salon. Kudos to this place and to Valerie! read more
