So I'm warning you, this is a long one. I wondered for a long time whether or not I should post…read more(especially seeing as she has so many outstanding reviews), and whether I was taking my experience too personally. Here goes.. I went in over the summer for a balayage and cut, I had just finished my first semester of grad school here and it was meant to be somewhat of a treat to myself. I had Melissa do my hair and she seemed friendly and considerate at first. Positives: The cut was fine and the dye job wasn't awful. Negatives: I had barely been sat down in the chair for 10 min when Melissa exclaimed 'wow your hair is soooo thin!' ok so this threw me off guard a little bit.. For one, my hair isn't exactly super thick, but it also isn't super thin either and besides that, I would think a hairdresser would know better than to make those kinds of comments. But ok, moving on, I chalked it up to insensitivity. Strike 2, we were chatting and she asked me 'where are you from', 'England!', 'oh but ethnically?' 'ahh my dad is iranian' 'ahhh! so thats where the thin hair comes from'. I kid you not, her words exactly. Who says that??? Way to make me feel like shit about myself. Third strike comes in the form of 'you have grad student hair, what happens is grad students don't eat properly, and they're stresses and then their hair starts to fall out'. Ok cool. At this point I have no choice but to put on a smile because I'm stuck in this chair for a good 2 hours or so. So the fourth strike comes when shes washing my hair and exclaims 'your hair feels nasty!' I'm literally gobsmacked and mumble something about 'It's probably product buildup..' she starts going on about how its from dying my hair too much and how hair dye strips the hair - guys, I haven't dyed my hair in 4 years and I say so, instead of accepting that I would know if I'd dyed my hair she replies with 'hmmmm are you sure, because hair dye causes damage like this..'.................................... Honestly at this point I'm on the verge of tears but holding it together. I've lost count of the strikes. Then comes the so called balayage. It wasn't what I wanted - didn't look faded in, she did such fine layers that it ended up looking like a weird blob of colour. Perhaps this was my fault and I should have been more clear, well at one point I said to her 'I know you know what you're doing but could you do the layers a little bit thicker but less of them' she gave me this look as if to say 'I know what I'm doing' and just said nothing. I've attached a picture of my hair that I took immediately after getting it done. This is just my personal experience but I would not recommend this place. There are much more talented hairdressers in town.

I'm very picky about who does my hair. So much so that I usually go years without a proper cut. I…read moredid a lot of research on salons in the C-U area and finally decided to try Eden's Rain and I'm so happy I did! My curls are back to being defined and full of volume. Melissa listened to what I wanted and gave me advice on how best to wash and style my hair. If you have curly hair I would highly recommend Eden's Rain. I felt safe the entire time I was in the salon. Everything was clean, masks are worn at all times. It was such a great experience.

The business was dirty but I like to support local businesses. The person doing my hair didn't speak English and the receptionist was on the speaker phone the whole time with Comcast for the lady doing my hair because she couldnt speak English. The lady doing my hair kept leaving me to give her info to the receptionist so she can get her internet hooked up. The whole 2 1/2 hours I was there, they were on speaker phone and even when I left. I also got a layered haircut after the highlights. my highlights were horrible and the color came right out and I can tell that my hair was uneven. I had to go to another salon so they can fix my layers! I called the hair place and spoke with the owner, he did redo my highlights that I was happy with but I was never reimbursed for the 2nd haircut I paid for to fix it. So after the owner did a good job fixing my highlights, I told him I wanted him to do my touch ups. So a month later, I called to make another appointment and give this salon a 2nd chance. The owner scheduled me early at 8:30 am the next day. He never showed up! I called him and he said he forgot because he was busy. So he rescheduled me for the next day at 10 am. I get there the next day at 10 and he wasn't there again. The receptionist said he hurt his toe. The lady that did my hair before was trying to tell me to sit in the chair! I gave up at that point. i never got a follow up or an apology. Very unprofessional. Save your time and money. I spent 200$ and it was not worth the time and money.

I also love that I wasn't disrespected or frowned upon for using Groupon, which I use often. Customer service is top-notch. I called during closed hours. I later got a call returning my missed call. I hadn't left a message. I immediately set up an appointment for my next availability. Before my appointment, I received text reminders of my appointment and contact information. On my appointment day, I received a text informing me that my tech had a cancellation before my appointment and was offered the opportunity to come in at an earlier time. Upon arrival, I was greeted by friendly, professional staff. My technician (I can't remember her name!) was awesome. When I met her, she asked me for my preferences, expectations, and if I was getting lashes for a specific occasion or everyday wear. She talked throughout the process informing me of expectations and lash care. My experience was great. When I was finished I went to the counter to check out and make tax payment, plus tip. I was offered an amazing lash care set, but they unfortunately didn't have all the items on stock. I will return to get this deal. I later got a text thanking me for my business. Many businesses lack basic customer service, however, iLash Factory exceeded my expectations. I definitely recommend. AND I LOVE MY LASHES!!!!!!

Gave this places two opportunities, first time I ever went for lashes I had made an appointment,…read moreshowed up ten minutes early for my appointment and ended up waiting 20 minutes past my appointment time, since it was my first time getting lashes my eyes were very watery and I can tell the lash tech was getting annoyed. I was annoyed too since I had been laying there for two hours. I did like the lashes but had a couple fall off that day, went on vacation and despite my effort to take care of them they almost completely came off, when I returned home I decided to give it another try since maybe they just didn't last me since I was on vacation. I booked a fill and I guessed I booked a mini instead of a regular fill and I wasn't aware of the price difference until after the service was completed, didn't mind but my assumptions were wrong the lashes were falling off little by little every day. They felt like plastic too, just very low quality for how much they're charging. The lash tech was nice but it seemed forced.
