I do not suggest using a Groupon for this company, as they have not organized themselves properly to allow those who have purchased a trip via Groupon to attend.

When we boarded the bus to the river, the drivers seemed to be having a disagreement and confusion over "which river" we were going to. I have a feeling we got taken to the "white water" route instead of the calmer, flat river route. We were all expecting a fairly relaxing lazy river experience, but it actually turned out to be a bit treacherous. There were extremely rough, jagged boulders everywhere that ripped our tubes and floating coolers and badly scratched us up. There were a half dozen rapids that flipped us and our coolers over. We spent more time getting stuck than actually drifting along the river. The $95 per person included a BBQ lunch post-tubing which was very good, and then another trip to a Virginia brewery. Though I think we all could have skipped the brewery (too tired). Tips: - Wear real water shoes or lace-up sneakers that are tightly secured. Our friends that wore flip flops or sandals all lost their shoes. - DO NOT bring anything of value with you on the water. You can leave your stuff on the bus. Wear cheap sunglasses. Our group lost 3 pairs of shoes, a few shirts, an iPhone, a speaker, and 4 pairs of sunglasses. They tell you this there, but I don't think people took it seriously. Don't. Bring. Your. Phone. - They sell ice and water shoes there, if you need them in a pinch. - Some of the life jackets BADLY reeked of body odor, so make sure you to grab a normal-smelling one. - Not all the tubes had cup holders, so try to find one that does. - Listen to them when they advise against standing up in the river. The current is strong, and it will drag you and your dangling limbs over razor sharp rocks. Stay in ya tube. All in all, we had a lot of fun as a group and would probably go again, as long as we could go on a lazier river :)

She got back to us in less than 24 hours with trip plan ideas. When we weren't excited about those she gave us time to think and come back with another idea. By the time we came back we had an entirely new idea but we had to be in Buford, GA on NYE for a wedding. Who even knows where Buford, GA is?! Jocelyn did and she made a trip itinerary happen that truly fit our needs, from location to budget to rental car! We chose to go on a relaxing nature-filled, skii/tubing trip in the mountains of NC. We appreciated her patience and flexibility- late calls, emails all day with questions....she always responded with practical and reassuring advice. She also provided all of the reviews we needed to make a informed decision. Jocelyn planned our entire trip from start to finish. She didn't book our activities because we wanted to wait until we arrived to decide but she would've if we asked! The early morning of our trip we had trouble checking into our flight online. We shot her an email at 4am, not expecting a response but more so to inform her for later. She emailed back almost immediately. The site finally let us check in but said she would handle our return flights and she did! Does she ever sleep? Talk about customer service! Our trip was filled with lots of time to reflect, relax, and enjoy one another's company- just what we wanted. The Inn Jocelyn chose for us was perfect. It was 7 minutes from snow tubing, 5 minutes from the local grocery store (I LOVED grocery shopping for the cabin) and the Inn was surrounded by nothing but quiet and nature. We traveled to the town during 'off peak' season which for some may have been a bummer but for us and our pre-NYE stay, it was perfect. We even made friends with the local wine bar owner! Jocelyn checked in on us to make sure we arrived and that we made it back safely. We would recommend Stamp'd to anyone. I was thrilled to see that the 7am bus from DuPont Circle was waiting when I arrived at 6:45, and that I was able to board immediately. Not only was there a working electrical outlet, but the WiFi signal was strong and effect. Those were the "best" parts of the expert - it was all downhill from there. I didn't realize there was an additional stop at Union station, and that took quite a while. The driver was very friendly and courteous, but the 15-minute rest stop that turned into 20 minutes made it clear that speed isn't really a priority for this service. We arrived at the stop on West 34th Street and 9th Ave at 12:10pm, and while it was much quicker to park there than it is near Penn station, if I have to walk to Penn station anyway, this isn't much of a plus for me. Probably the most annoying thing about today was that my 5:30pm return trip was cancelled due to technical issues and I had to cut my trip half an hour short(er) to get the 5pm replacement trip instead. I appreciate getting an early notification about the return bus snafu so I was able to adjust my plans accordingly, and I know these things can happen, but if I'm going to be on buses and trains for 12 hours in a day, losing that half hour of planned productivity really isn't great I'll allow that BestBus likely has the best service I've experienced on an Intercity bus in terms of courtesy and communication. And the DuPont Circle is super convenient for me before the metro is running on a Saturday. Beyond that though, this isn't my preferred choice for travel to New York.

Trip from NYC to DC had better driving but no help retrieving luggage which used to be standard customer service. Had to crawl in the storage space under the bus to obtain my luggage. Also, there were no rest stops on either leg of the trip.

Bring an air freshener - the toilet is right there in close quarters with you (if ya get my drift!) My only complaint is that the room got super hot at night, so it's a good idea to have a bottle of water in your room in case you're like me and get super thirsty from being to hot. To be fair, I was sleeping in the top bunk so I'm sure the hot air rose to my detriment. There's a little cafe in the lobby with coffee, empanadas and seating with some fun board games. So if you're looking for somewhere to stay on a budget, this place was perfect for us. I felt safe in the hostel itself and in the neighborhood as well. Not to mention the hostel is less than a block away from the metro station which was SO useful. One last thing that was so nice - even after you check out, you're welcome to leave your luggage in the lobby until your flight/train/Uber picks you up so your not just dragging bags around town while you kill some time. While they have merit and are attractive, the opportunity to travel throughout Kyrgyzstan is unique in the photo workshop/expedition world. I'd never seen an opportunity like this before, and it immediately intrigued and excited me. Additionally, I'd never been on a photo workshop before. The logistics of the trip are daunting. Eighteen days long, with fifteen days on the road. Other than three hotel nights in Bishkek, the capital, at the start and end of the trip, only three nights are in hotels, the rest in yurt camps or tents. The execution of the logistics was impeccable. There was never an oversight or a dropped ball. And, despite the demands of this trip and extensive behind the scenes coordination and decision making, trip leaders Justin Black and Jerry Dodrill were always warm and in good cheer, with abundant photographic suggestions, insights and approaches to subjects. There is great instruction while shooting, exposure to diverse environments (2,500 feet to 13,400 feet elevation), and more than enough time at a multitude of locations to develop both a feel and an approach for/to the subject matter. Both Justin and Jerry are world class photographers with decades of experience teaching, and it shows. Ask a question and you get an answer with years of knowledge behind it (Stop, I can't absorb any more!). A word of advice to potential participants...this is not a hotel-based experience. You will be able to most enjoy this trip if you've spent some time outdoors, some time in tents, understand the clothing necessities of weather and altitude, and are prepared to tolerate a little bit of discomfort for an extraordinary experience.
