I am happy with the solar system I got through Sunlux. In October of 2025, I realized that the IRS solar credits were set to expire early at the end of the year due to the spending bill congress passed in July. I contacted 4 solar companies, and 3 said they could get the job done in time. Sunlux had the lowest price by $9,000 - $30,000. I liked that Mike Valencia is an owner, so I knew I was not working with a salesperson who might not be with me throughout the process. I purchased a 16 panel, 7.36KW, 2 Powerwall 3 system. From contract signing to Permission To Operate (PTO) took some time, but we got the system up and in service before December 31st. It did take almost 5 months from contract to PTO. Southern California Edison took 2 1/2 months to give us PTO. We did have some issues with communication at first. It turns out there was a key employee who was going through something. Sunlux hired an additional person to help. We then worked things out and communication has been great since. I noticed other reviews that remarked on communication. As far as I can see, that is resolved. I developed a good, friendly working relationship with Michael Valencia, Guillermo Santomauro, and Jessica Delgado. I also got along really well with the installers and technicians who came to my house. The installation and permit process did not go perfectly, but Sunlux took care of everything to my satisfaction, and to the satisfaction of my city (and we had a very particular inspector). If I saw something I did not like, Guillermo worked with me to make sure I was completely satisfied. Sunlux working with me to insure total satisfaction is why I gave them 5 stars. My safisfaction includes the very fair price, a good, safe system, and a company/people I feel confident with going forward. On my first bill reflecting a full billing cycle with solar, my Edison bill was only $10. I won't really know how well my system meets my needs until I have the air conditioning going full force during the summer. If needed, I will have a couple more panels and even another Powerwall added. For now my system produces far more power than I use. The only thing I don't like is having Tesla Powerwalls because Elon Musk's behavior and actions are contrary to my values. Sometimes compromises have to be made. They are good batteries. I feel confident recommending Sunlux, and urge others to consider them in their pursuit of Solar energy. read more

We had a solar installation at our old house, then we moved and our new home had a tiny solar array, so we added another 24 (I believe it was) panel system a couple years ago, We'll, we FINALLY got the battery backup and they did a great job. Price was clear, including upgrade options/pricing, and they worked with me regarding the installation location, etc. Unfortunately, the county required safety poles in front of the Powerwall because our RV travel trailer parks next to it ( even though there is no geometric possibility of hitting it with my trailer!), so they had to install them and call for another final inspection. I'm going to remove them since they are worthless! After everything was wrapped up we got the PTO and everything is working perfectly, but we have not yet experienced a power outage. But I'm sure we'll be just fine when that happens! I always recommend Sunlux to people I know who are considering solar or battery backup. I would highly recommend SunLux to anyone looking to install Solar Panels on their home. We researched multiple vendors before deciding to go with SunLux. In comparison to other companies, we felt SunLux had the best price, presentation, and overall comprehension in terms of what we needed. Mike Valencia, VP of Sales and Marketing, did a great job explaining how solar would work best for us. Elizabeth Haygood, our assigned project manager was always available when we had questions about the process and was consistently providing us updates on the status of our installation. It took about a 6 weeks for the project to start (this was due to the holiday season). Once it got started, things moved very quickly. The actual installation of 32 panels took 1 day. The following week, the city inspector came to check the work and approved it within 15 minutes. Prior to the inspector arriving that afternoon, a SunLux supervisor arrived the morning to look over the installation and make sure everything was up to code. The following day, the city stopped by and installed the new meter. Three days later we were connected to the grid. SunLux did a great job through the whole setup and installation process. Wow, do you know when you just made a bad choice and have so much regret. That is exactly where I am with Sunlux. I am completely embarrassed to have chosen them. Mike VP of sales will have a very nice presentation from Austin, Texas. You will feel confident and secure moving forward. While the professionalism and quality of work is just embarrassing here in CA. Don't want to bore you with all the install issues, extended timeline and being ignored. Being ignored is just so disrespectful and insulting. Especially when you have already paid for the project. That is so troubling and a red flag, that is when I knew, but it was too late. I will tell you after six months my system is finally up. To add insult to injury the courtesy emails that come in after the install have links that are expired and are effectively useless. Wow, way to confirm my thoughts and review. These emails are coming from the executive team out of Austin, TX. Leadership trickles down, this explains so much about the culture of the company. I see Chapter 7 & Chapter 11 in their future. That leaves me with warranty exposure, but I am already planning for them to go out of business or restructure. This company is very good at front end sales and terrible at monitoring and customer service post install. Customer now for almost 7 years. Our system was completely offline at one point for months and no one at the company alerted us. We recently noticed that power generation is way down and has been for months and again, there was never any alert from the company. We paid the additional fee for the power generation guarantee and recently after digging into our contract realized they have not fufilled their obligations under agreement. We've initiated a dispute process, and I'm worried this is going to require a lawyer. When dealing with them it's clear that post install customer service is an afterthought and no real team or process is in place to properly monitor systems and proactively address system issues. This is a sales and install company first and foremost, leaving their customers substantially unsupported afterwards. After writing my review below, I did hear back from the exact technician from Sunlux that had installed my panels over two years ago. He was very helpful, and provided me with fairly easy to follow YouTube videos. He also said if needed he would come back out in person. I am confirming that I have been able to reconnect my solar system to my new home network after following the self help video shared by the Sunlux installer. Two years in from my purchase and installation, I am having problems with connectivity and monitoring of my panels. Sunlux directed me to reach out to the manufacturer for support. The manufacturer stated it was the installer, Sunlux's , responsibility to provide support. My contacts at Sunlux have blocked my email after my initial contact for assistance. My solar inverter broke down so I had to replace it. Since it was under warranty Sunlux claimed it with Solaredge since they are the manufacturer of the inverter. However, Solaredge was very slow in getting me the new inverter replacement. Initially, they told me it will take 2-4 weeks to get it. A month and a half later still nothing. Every time I called Solaredge they gave me the run-around. Finally, Lorena Gutierrez from Sunlux stepped in and told me they can give me one of their new inverters first while I waited for my replacement and then give them my inverter once I received it. They came 2 days later and replace my inverter with a new one. I want to thank Lorena Gutierrez from Sunlux to do that for me. Now my solar is working great!! Kurtiss the crew lead was awesome and answered all my questions I had and walked me through the process of solar. He also did very well on the electrical. The roof lead Omar and his guys Ricardo & Alex on the other hand had done mediocre work. For 3 guys and licensed roofers I expected better work. There was a lot of debris left on roof, broken tiles exposing sheathing, solar panels not leveled and crooked. Glue and scratches on the solar panels themself. Expected better from sunlux. UPDATE: Kurtiss came back out and fixed all the roof issues and everything is perfect. He even painted the old vent stacks flashings which he didn't have too but still did to make the roof look better. read more

I contacted Sunlux along with several other companies when I was looking to add battery backup to our existing solar system. Sunlux recommended the latest version of the Tesla Power Wall and they offered the best pricing for the equipment and installation. It took about 2 months from start to completion. That included approved permit. The techs and support staff were all professional and knowledgeable. I could not be happier with the installation and the Tesla Power Wall. The Power Wall supplies all of our electrical needs through the night when there is no solar production. By morning it is a short time when it is back to 100% charged.
