I knew very little about how this entire "Solar" process was all about, yes I was definitely into going green and would love nothing more than to help our environment and at the same time help me save money with my electrical bill! Upon visiting Home Depot I agreed to meet their solar associate, however after meeting with them I still wasn't sold with switching over to solar, heck they couldn't provided me with the specifications on the PV Modules or the Microinverters that are suppose to be installed on top off my roof, NO thank you Home Depot! Then I met Michael V. from SunLux Energy, not only was he able to explain the pro's and con's on solar electricity, he provided specifications on the hardware that they install along with the manufacture guaranty (did you know that the manufacture guaranty's the output of electricity their panels are projected to produce or they will compensate you the shortage?). Afterwards Michael reiterates the fact that having a set payment (which in my case was $50 less a month-switching to solar) and then fast forward what my electrical bill would be say eight to ten years from now, more than likely an additional $40 -$50 more per month, in all honesty it's a no-brainer to switch. As for the Sunlux installation group, all I can say is "WOW" what an impressive team! Starting with their office manager Karissa who kept me updated with every step of the installation process and answered all my questions I had, to Aaron their field superintendent who oversaw the guys installing the modules and staying on top of the city inspectors when needed. At the end their field superintendent "Guillermo" contacted me to make sure I was completely satisfied with his installation team, how nice and sleek the panels were installed and also configured the online monitoring software (MyEnlighten) so that I can monitor my daily output usage and/or print production reports. If anybody is interested in going solar there is no other choice but to go with SUNLUX! If you're in a bind because a family member knows a friend of a friend who installs solar and you kinda feel obligated or don't want to hurt their feelings, it's OK! Just tell them you want to get a second opinion and THAT's when you call SUNLUX. After you sign your contract with SunLux, ask them if they are hiring installers because you know a friend of a friend who installs solar for a lower rated company than yours! When my electric bill reached $800 plus I realized I had to do something about it. I started looking for a solar company and interviewed about 10 companies. I liked almost everyone I interviewed - they were mostly polite, knowledgeable and personable - however I just did not understand the process and how that would finally stop the price increases, which had gone up from $200 a month to $800 a month in 20 years. One of the young men I interviewed called to ask if he could have a second interview, DAN BURGHARDT and he worked for SUNLUX ENERGY. Dan came back with his boss, MIKE VALENCIA. They explained the process to me and my husband again; they went over each piece of equipment they would use and why each was the best solution for our problems. We also understood why we would not have to worry about the debt we would be incurring thanks to their explanations. To make the problem even more complicated we needed a new roof. Our roof was more than 25 years old and was ready to be replaced. After reviewing all of our quotes and printed materials, we called Sunlux back and we spoke to Mike and Dan again. They hooked us up with a wonderful roofer who took off the old roof, hauled it away and installed a new one. I knew a little about roofs and got everything I wanted at a very competitive price. Then they installed the solar panels...IT WAS LIKE MAGIC. My electric bill went down below a hundred dollars and I haven't paid my first payment yet for either the roof or the solar panels which were combined. And they did all the leg work on finding the credit company and negotiated the interest for me, which was very low. After 2.5 months I have paid only $100 to the electric company, I have a new roof, new solar panels and I haven't spent any money yet. Our first payment starts 3 months after the solar hook up. For the first 18 months I pay only on the total less the 30% credit I will be receiving in the next 18 months. After 18 months my payment increases by the payment on the tax credit portion. The payments will be substantially lower than my average electric bill. Sunlux negotiated all of this for us! I interviewed 5 solar companies before I decided on Sunlux. They were the only company who would show me their contract before I decided to buy from them. Their salesperson, Ryan Reyes, continued to answer my questions and thoroughly explained my options in purchasing the equipment. Also, Sunlux is located in the State of California where I live. Many of the companies have salespersons here, but the Company itself is located out of State. That is horrible if you have any disputes with those Companies as you have to go tho their State to resolve any legal differences. Sunlux was quick to supply me with their license and insurance information. Sunlux gave me a twenty-five (25) year parts and labor guarantee. The other companies only wanted to give twenty-five years on the panels but 10 years on the labor. This was very important to me as inverters normally need to be replaced after 10 to 11 years. The electrical inspector had signed off on their work. However, a second inspector stated some additional work had to be done on the 220 panel they installed. As soon as I contacted them, even though the permit had been approved, Sunlux was there to go the extra mile and follow the suggestion of the second electrical inspector. The stucco work done on the house initially did not blend in to the rest of the wall on the side of the house. Sunlux made sure their contractor came out again and feathered the stucco work to blend in with the remainder of the wall. I have worked with contractors on improvements to my home and I have to say they are the most reliable contractor I have dealt with---especially after they had received their final payment! I was also impressed with the fact once I told them what other solar companies were offering - they made sure to investigate and bring to the table any extras other companies were giving as additional perks to sign.....In summary, Sunlux stands behind their product and I greatly appreciate receiving an electrical bill of $12.50 for the hottest month of the year. This is actually my first time writing an online review as I felt Sunlux was truly amazing and professional to work with. Being naturally skeptical about to idea of solar all together and after researching numerous companies, the following outlines a truly great experience. I believe the whole process took about 3 month from around late August to early November. The Team (at least who I got to work with): Chris A, Michael V, Erika G, Jessica B, Michael McC. * From presenting, keeping me updated, and promptly answering question, they were all truly professional every step of the way. The Process: 1. Upon reaching out with interest, an online live presentation was scheduled. Equipment description, sky view simulation of panels installed on my roof, costs, warranties, payment options, tax-benefits were very well presented. I never felt pressured into making a decision on the spot, which I don't with similar financial decisions. I recall saying I needed a couple days and was politely understood. 2. After doing the math, it just made complete sense. I called back and signed. FYI: There are several financial options, chose what works for you. 3. Home/Roof Evaluation was scheduled, Final Design sent for my approval, installation day, city inspection, and final touches all ran smoothly with no issues. Whenever I had a question, someone got back to me within an hour. Sometime minutes. The Results: One month into my panels fully operating, I could not be happier. Even during these short and sometimes cloudy days, my bill is -$3. Yes, negative. Meaning that my electricity company owes my money for a change. My last 3 bills had been around $300 per month. The Future: The installation and panels are pretty much bumper to bumper warrantied for 25 Years. While I hope I never have use for it, I feel confident that Sunlux will assist in resolving any issue. read more

I have considered solar installation for some time now. After making the decision to move forward with solar, I invited 5 solar companies to provide me quotes. Of the 5 companies, only 2 provided full service (roofing work) including the changing of high profile vents to low-profile vents and relocation of vent pipes in order to not have sporadic placement of solar panels. I was interested in uniform placement of the panels without large gaps to skip over vents or vent pipes. The sales rep, Chris was very knowledgeable. He made every effort to answer my questions. Like many other customers, I had many questions and specifics to discuss after our initial meeting. Chris made every effort to call me back and answered all my questions (sometimes even in the late evening because he did want a day to go by without calling me back). Once the documents were signed and the project was underway, the project was handled by the project manager Danielle. Like Chris, Danielle was very responsive. She kept me informed at every step of the project. She ensured I was aware and understood of all the details involved with the particular step in the process we were in. In fact, Danielle even called me to congratulate me when Southern California Edison granted my Permission To Operate. The installers were all very prompt and courteous. Due to rain, the installers had to stop working and gave me what sounded like a heart felt apology for having to stop working. Imagine that, it goes to show the level of commitment and pride in their work. From beginning to end, employees of Sunlux have demonstrated their diligence and commitment to their customers. We were looking for a solar company we could trust to install solar panels on our home. Its hard to know who to trust but after hearing their ads on KFI and reading reviews, we decided to try Sunlux and WOW are we glad we did. Everyone was very professional and treated us with respect. Chris our salesperson, came to visit us in our home for a very thorough informative presentation on solar systems. He was very knowledgeable with years of experience. He even gave us his cell number and we would call him after hours if we had a question and he was never bothered and always had an answer or found one quickly. Any email replies were received in a timely manner and we were very pleased with the entire process, from the initial home visit with Chris, all the way through to the installation and inspection steps. The management of our project was flawless , we had to replace our 20 year roof, which we knew ahead of time and Sunlux waited patiently for our roofing project to be completed and checked in periodically to make sure we were on schedule. Each step was explained in detail so we knew what to expect at each step. Each time we were handed off to the next team, (evaluation, installation, inspection, final approvals) we knew who they were and were given all contact information. SunlLux installed our solar system a little of 4 years ago. I chose this team quite frankly for their transparency, honesty and from the very beginning they show that they cared about their clients and the work they did. We recently did a complete roof replacement and I went right back to the SunLux team to help with this. My thinking was that in order to replace the roof, the solar had to come down and then put right back in, as is if were a new install. And if there were any issues with the roof or the solar re-install, once the job was complete, I only had one team/person I would need to connect with to solve any issue or problem. And they delivered on the project. The project lead coordinated everything from demo to installation of the new roof, and then reinstalled the solar panels and system once the roof was signed off. The team stood by me one evening, once the re-install was complete and we powered everything back up. They wanted to be sure the solar system cam back up and functioned properly. This was also the team, that walked the complete roof, once install was done, to ensure the was no issues or debris left on the roof. I highly recommend this team whether you're installing only solar or replacing your roof, and need solar installed or re-installed. I've had a great experience with SunLux Energy from start to finish. I worked directly With Mike Valencia, and he was very thorough and helpful through the entire process. He explained every aspect of how the solar installation process works. During installation, I was surprised to find that Mike even showed up to check on the installation team while they were installing solar at my home. This exceeded my expectations as it was not previously discussed. It really gave me the feeling they truly care about the installation process. Overall, I was very happy with the installation as conduit runs were hidden in ideal locations. Additionally, the installers painted all of the conduit the same color as my stucco. SunLux also used all black solar panels on my roof, along with black rails in areas that were visible. This is a noticeable difference from the panels on my neighbors homes. Very happy with these all black panels. Upon receiving my first SCE bill post solar, the SunLux team also wanted to make sure I had a full understanding of how to read the bill and monitor my energy consumption and charges. My system is performing at full capacity as promised in the documentation! Overall, I was very pleased with the entire process from start to finish and would recommend SunLux to family and friends. I recently had an experience with Sunlux Solar, and I must say I'm extremely disappointed. The lack of communication throughout the process was frustrating and unprofessional. From the initial inquiry to the failed inverter and new ownership transfer, I expected better communication and transparency. It often felt like I was left in the dark about the progress of the service. My calls and emails seemed to go unanswered, and when I did manage to get in touch with someone, they couldn't provide clear answers or timelines. This lack of communication not only caused delays but also left me feeling uninformed and uncertain about the entire process. Because of the delays our PG&E bill was high as we had no Solar production. It's essential for a company in this industry to keep customers updated and address their concerns promptly. We had a failed inverter last year and Mike Valencia had emailed letting us know if it happens again he would help us with a reimbursement. A year later we encountered a 2nd failed inverter. We sent a follow-up email and still have not heard back from him. I had high hopes for Sunlux Solar, but this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. I hope they can improve their communication in the future to provide a better customer experience. Until then, I absolutely cannot recommend them with confidence. read more

For quite some time I didn't believe all the hype of the solar industry and its claim that it could save you money. I simply kept paying the increasing monthly electric bill hoping that the next months bill would decrease. In the summer months of 2017 I saw my electric bill rise to about $550 a month and decided to do something about these outrageous prices. I spoke with a friend at work who had a solar panel system installed in 2016, and was shocked when he showed me a monthly Edison bill totaling 35 cents. I immediately contacted (3) solar panel companies and set up appointments. Mind you, I selected brand name solar companies believing I would only get the best product available. Well, needless to say, I elected to go with SunLux. Mark Trujillo, the SunLux Energy Consultant, was extremely knowledgeable of his product and was able to answer all of our questions. Mark was polite and accommodating throughout the entire process. In fact , Mark was head and shoulders above the other companies consultants in regards to product knowledge. Ultimately, SunLux's solar panels were superior,the SunLux warranty was longer, and the price was lower. We just went live 3 weeks ago with our new solar system installed by SunLux and I could not be happier with my experience. We got 25 panels, had our roof redone and our electrical panel upgraded also. We knew we wanted to do this project and I looked to yelp for companies to give us estimates. I carefully read through all the reviews. I picked 3 companies to come and give us an estimate. My husband was ready to sign with each one after we talked with them, but I just wasn't feeling it. I contacted SunLux for one final estimate and Guillermo answered the phone. Not only did Guillermo come back with the best estimate of the 3 companies, but I really liked him. He was great throughout the whole process. At one point a worker was out fixing something that had broken and I was out talking to him and I told him how happy I was with Guillermo and SunLux. After waiting years for solar panels to become more efficient and affordable, i finally settled on Sunlux to set up solar for our newly renovated home after reading reviews and speaking with friends. I must say this decision for solar has been the best investment in my home i have ever made. Sunlux reps took us through the whole process from estimating our generating needs (we have 2 ev cars, 2 A/C units and outdoor entertainment) to mapping out our panels to give us maximum sun exposure, to setting up and registering our panels with the electric company. After interviewing several companies claiming to be the best of its kind in residential solar, I put out a request to friends for their thoughts. A friend led me to SunLux. I immediately receive a call from the person my friend recommended and it was clear then that I would lean toward this company. They made an appointment, came to my household at the appointed time with a preliminary layout and related information able to answer all the questions I had. Upon leaving I was asked to contact them if I was interested in their product--that is to say, I was to call them versus them pressuring me. After doing an in-depth study of the company upon their leaving and looking up other reviews, there was no doubt that this had to be the best company. I did extensive research on residential solar systems before calling numerous companies. Most of the representatives I spoke to appeared to become uninterested when I started to ask too many questions. Most indicated that they would call me back to make an appointment. With the exception of 2 reps, most did not. Guillermo from SunLux was one that actually did come over and did a presentation. Guillermo answered most of my questions and explained in detail the pros and cons of purchasing or leasing a system. We were very impressed with his knowledge and expertise. He also quoted a very competitively priced system that was considerably lower than the other quote we received. We ended up purchasing a solar system from SunLux. Guillermo provided frequent updates during the financing, funding and construction phases. We were so impressed with the whole process that we referred my in-laws to him. I love to do my research and obtained quotes from more than 5 different installers before selecting Sunlux to install my solar system. One key piece for making that decision, besides researching all of the equipment and cost, was a result of reading positive reviews much like this one. The employees answered all of my questions and maintained communication throughout the process to let me know what stage the project was at and what I should expect next. This was huge for me as several of the steps involved getting permits, submitting plans, and obtaining inspections which don't necessarily require the customer's constant participation. As such it would have been easy to feel like nothing was happening or that my project was not moving forward had my project manager not provided those periodic progress updates. From start to finish it took just over 2 months from the date I signed the contract. The install itself took a couple days due to rainy weather.
