Came here on a Saturday and had a few choice pastries with bubble tea. It's a grab and go kind of place and all the food we tried was delicious. I highly recommend the bacon roll and custard buns (so good!). A lot of items were brought out fresh as we looked around. Definitely a nice place to eat breakfast! read more

This bakery is amazing. Pastries, bread and cake always baked fresh daily. The cakes and creme puffs are my favorites from here. They're all not too sweet and provide just the right amount of sugar for my cravings. The coffee here is also very good. In my personal opinion, their hot coffee is average but where they really excel is their iced coffee. They also have a vast menu of bubble teas. Love this spot! read more

My family and I love all of the pastry's especially the Coffee Brioche. Their drinks are also great especially the Tiger Coffee with boba.

Really like this place - awesome milk and bubble tea They have this cafeteria style pastry bar and it all looks freshly baked.never had anything we didn't like here. We love the Nutella buns and the mushroom and cheese flatbreads. They have very nice looking cakes and it's an overall great place to hang out and relax. I liked this bakery better than Paris Baguette. I tried the Nutella Bun, the Egg and Scallion sandwich, the ham and corn bun (my all time favorite!) and took home the coffee brioche, cookies and cream panna cotta, etc. all which were AMAZINGLY delicious, fresh, and priced very reasonably. I also ordered a Salted Caramel Cheese Foam Latte which was also lovely. It was a bit too rich for the size, however. I think a small size would have been sufficient, but I think a medium is their smallest size. It's a small, cozy, and adorable. Really enjoyed my visit here! read more

A pretty standard bakery. Everything is good quality and there are a lot of pastry options. I especially like Happy Lemon. Drinks are always good and they do use legit lemons (not that artificial stuff). Other than that, staff is nice and the interior is always clean. been here twice, the first time because someone told me that this is the closest bakery to the 85 degree bakery in LA! the first time I went here I just purchased their fruit tart cake, I think it was almost $40 and honestly I don't think is all that. It's just a regular fruit cake with peach pudding. I think it's pretty unique with the peach pudding but I'm wasnt really into it. Then the second time here, I purchased their mango mousse cake, mango cheese tart little pie and their custard bread. I don't think their bakery is like the 85 degrees, but their mango cheese tart pie is pretty good! However the custard bread is ok, a little bitter taste maybe too much rum? As for the mango mousse, I didn't get to try it. all in all, it's definitely worth the try! read more

I have a soft spot for Taiwanese businesses. Nevertheless, here's a brief honest review. The selection and presentation leaves more to be desired compared to its Korean counterparts not too far away. I would like to see some more seasonal items, but there are 4 items that I think are bomb Bo-lo charsiu buns - pretty awesome sweet and savory combo Green tea croissant - that green tea crumb topping is so good Coffee brioche - perfectly fluffy with a hint of coffee aroma. Was pleasantly surprised that they served Happy Lemon at this sunmerry location. My friend and I got black tea with cheese foam and their new tropical fruit tea with less sugar and less ice. Their service is nice - they recommended lowering the sugar level, which I appreciated after tasting the drinks. I was a little disappointed to find out that they didn't have the slushies that I had tried at another Happy Lemon location I had visited in California. But the black tea with cheese foam was still good. The tropical fruit tea had a bit of a bitter taste but wasnt bad. I wish they would add the lemon slushies to their menu though!! read more

I have always been a fan of Sunmerry bread and used to get my fix at their Fort Lee location. So, I was happy when I noticed that they had opened a story right next to the new 99 Ranch Supermarket in Edison. Location is super convenient (right off Rt. 1) and selection is good. I have to say, the only reason I didn't give it five stars is because for some reason I feel like their selection is not as varied as the store in Fort Lee. I will say though that they do bake throughout the day, so it could just be that when I went, they did not have the type of bread I wanted. The breads that I did buy were all delicious. They are currently doing a promotion of buy 5 get 1 free, and then their next promotion will be buy $15, get $5 off (I think that starts either next week or the week after). They also plan to sell bubble tea from Happy Lemon soon (although I will always be getting mine from Coco because nothing beats Coco). read more

Went here for a change from my usual bakery and I was pleasantly surprised. I bought the strawberry custard cake and mushroom bread. Both were really yummy. The staff is friendly but looked unhappy. Sunmerry Bakery is an Asian bakery chain, originally from Japan and Taiwan, that has finally made its way over to the east coast. They offer both traditional Asian pastries and more modern takes on traditional favorites. Their breads and pastries are absolutely delicious! Flaky yet soft, and the perfect amount of sweetness. I highly recommend the green tea croissant or the nutella cookie, which is less of a cookie and more of a airy puff pastry. Their puddings, which come in various flavors, are quite tasty as well! I would, however, stay away from their cakes, which I found disappointing and too creamy. Overall, a great spot, and I'm sure to be back again! read more

Bakery items are great. This review is not about the quality of their products. It's extremely disappointing that a Chinese bakery cannot write messages on cakes in Chinese. Makes me wonder what type of bakers they got working there. As a Chinese American who can't write Chinese. I can at least draw out the characters. Most pastry chefs I know are artists. read more

Sunmerry is my go-to bakery. Growing up in Taiwan and often have bread/Taiwanese pastries for breakfast develops my love for Bread, or more so, Taiwanese pastries. A few years ago, when I found out there's a Sunmerry opening in Edison, I was super happy because there's finally a GOOD place that sells Taiwanese bake goods, unlike the ones sold inside Chinese supermarkets that goes stale after a day or two. Needless to say, when Sunmerry opened, I was there at least once a week stocking up. My favorites are the taro waltz, big coconut, shredded pork, bolo bun, and curry pan. The cakes here are really good too, not too sweet. I've pretty much tried almost every flavor, from the chocolate mousse, mango mousse, tiramisu, taro pudding, to the strawberry cream. The happy lemon here sells pretty good bubble tea, too! So definitely try to come here and taste all the different flavors pastries/cakes/beverages they offer! read more

I figured I'd try out new places to get tea so my friend and I decided to come here. It kind of reminded me of Paris baguette but smaller. I got a regular milk bubble tea which I've never had before, so I'm not sure how it compares to other places but I thought it was pretty good. It wasn't too sweet like I know some teas can be. I also got a slice of one of their fruit cakes which was probably one of the best slices of cake I've had in a while. It wasn't dry or anything and all the fruit tasted really fresh. I'd recommend their cake to those who don't like super thick or overly sweet frosting. The staff there was very friendly and patient considering I probably stood there for 10 minutes trying to decide what I wanted lol. Overall, I think it's a cute bakery with a good amount of variety if you're not sure what you want to get. Maybe not the best place if you're looking for specifically bubble tea, like I was at first, but I'd definitely go back and id definitely recommend it others to try. read more
