They always greet you when you walk in and the staff is always beyond friendly. My wife recently gave birth and we were able to pick up her discharge medications immediately on our way home from the hospital. There are never lines there like the big chain pharmacies. There is something very special about locally owned pharmacies. They do not have to answer to a corporation- their only goals is to serve their community and take care of their patients. When we got there, there were 2 people behind the pharmacy counter and no customers. We asked if they had the Moderna vaccine available and were told that they did, but that we'd need an appointment. Their online system said they didn't have any appointments available until next Tuesday. The excuse we were given in person was because of limited supply we needed an appointment. Huh? Another Rite Aid pharmacy farther away told us to come right in and that we didn't need an appointment. It seems like these employees at this location were just being lazy. It's no surprise that many Rite Aid locations are slated to close.

And even a nicer surprise: the items I got had an additional discount simply by adding a phone number (being a CVS shopper and all.) TIP: expect a really long receipt if you opt to have it printed. But take a few seconds to look through it - you can avail even more discounts for future purchases. It was a convenient and good first run. I didn't see any staff members in the store at all and then I went to self checkout which made life easy on getting what I needed, paying for it and being out the door. Switching to Premier Family Pharmacy has been a breath of fresh air…read more I used to use big box pharmacies (think Rite Aid and later CVS) and finally threw in the towel after experiences getting refills or new prescriptions left me in tears on multiple occasions. I should have switched years ago. At this Pharmacy, the owner knows me by name. He always picks up my calls (or if I hit voicemail he immediately calls me back). He proactively calls me about medication refills. He calls my doctors (and doesn't lie about it like CVS does). Every conversation is filled with "thank you" and "I appreciate your choosing us." My medications are ready hours after my doctor prescribes them. Payam treats his clients like royalty and switching to his pharmacy has decreased my stress levels. The big brand pharmacies don't care about you or your business. I think that when you need medication quickly and safely it's important that someone does care. I'd urge anyone reading this to switch to their local small pharmacy and, if you live or work around Torrance, this pharmacy is a particularly good one!

I was able to fill it online, then when I went in the following day, they acted like I was crazy and said it never existed. When I pushed them, they agreed it actually did exist, but apparently it expired a few days before. They accidentally used a more recent prescription to refill a few months ago and let the older prescription run out and expire (6 months). Then when I paid $200 to have a telehealth appointment to have a new prescription sent in, that day, they then told me they would not accept the good RX card on a controlled substance. That's not a law in California or with CVS just "their location." I've called around to every other pharmacy and they said of course they take good RX card for any prescription. Just go to Ralph's, Walgreens, Costco literally anywhere else but this place. They are incompetent liars fabricating stories and discriminate.

The cashier had her give out her name and date of birth three times, and the name of her doctor, and her insurance information. The pharmacist was called over for a consultation (which should have been at the "consultation counter) and went over her medical condition and how to take the medication. All of us on line were appalled that this information was being divulged so publicly, especially in these days where identity theft is so rampant. I spoke to the same pharmacist later and voiced my concern and his response was to speak more softly next time.
