The auto hold voice at the pharmacy talks about their service and specialty to create custom compound medications. Unfortunately, my reality was quite a different story. Not only was my medication not ready in a week (should have been by next day), but I was provided NO update on their inability to deliver the medication. And I was given no notice of their inability to remedy the situation (pharmacist vacation schedule) or proactive solution to send the script to someplace that could help In a timely fashion. I am obviously incredibly frustrated, and recommend that others DO NOT put their health in this team's hands. read more

One of the better pharmacy I have been too over the last couple of years. Its smaller and right by the entrance to the medical building, so you can't miss it. Whether your prescription is called in ahead of time or you walk in, they are always quick in retrieving the medication to me. I'm always in a hurry so being able to get in and out within 10 minutes is a deal breaker. Pharmacist techs are friendly and checks in to see if you've been helped or not. This the best place to get a flu shot or covid shot! There is never any wait. I literally walked in on a Saturday morning at 9:20 and was out by 9:25. You get a cute little first aid kit free with your shot to.Another plus is that they always have greeting card at 1/2 price. Saturday most of the doctor's offices are closed so the place is usually empty. They are a small business so I want to support them. I don't take any medications otherwise I would use them as my pharmacy. read more

I have been run through the mill with dental pain and a broken foot. I have been using them for 10+ years. I brought in a script from my podiatrist after having brought in other scripts from a dentist and my primary care doctor. Mind you they all spoke with one another, and they were completely aware of this thing called CURES. No physician I saw was out of the loop. SBP was filling the meds with no issues. Eventually I was able to establish myself and stick with one doctor but he changed the dose instructions. Sometimes I had to go to other pharmacies (who also had CURES) because one was closed, one didn't have the medication, or their system was down. SBP decided to use that against me and make it sound like I was doctor/pharmacy shopping. Doctors have computers with internet and phones. Nathan and Xavier all of a sudden,said I could no longer use their services even after I told them that pharmacies close, have weird hours, or have systems that are down. They looked at me and treated me like I stole $100 worth of goods from the store. They spoke at me in that condescending "Karen" voice. After a few minutes Nathan walked over and whispered to Xavier about my CURES report. Mind you, I don't break rules. There's a report that tells on me if I did. The pharmacist isn't an M.D. Nathan told me that a doctor called and told him that they said not to fill any meds for me and he handed me a CURES report highlighted with the three pharmacies I go to l, my meds, and it was color coded. They took their time. if one has any of the issues I've listed above. I know those places were there because I've been there it's a few pharmacies not a list of banks I've robbed. I asked Nathan straight up, who called him to tell him that I should no longer get services there. He looked at me as nervous as could be and kept telling me to "hold on" because the "name sounded really familiar". I swear he saw a ghost. Obviously he was lying. Liars have to remember the stories they create. Boy was he trying to remember. I called all of the doctors and dentists (there were very few) and the doctor he accused of telling him not to serve me to let them know what he was saying because it made me look bad. Not only did I have a pleasant conversation with all of them but I had an absolutely wonderful conversation with the doctor Nathan said called him to tell him to deny me service. The doc was extremely offended because "if he had a problem with a patient he would say so at the appointment because CURES is run before every patient is seen." He also told me that by the looks of my report and my recent medical records, I did nothing wrong. I called Nathan and let him know how offended I was that he vilified me. He judged me harshly for having debilitating dental pain and at the same time having a broken foot. He has no clue how long it takes to get established with anyone. So you see who you can. Nathan punished me for that and he said the conversation we had did not ever happen. He said I couldn't go to another pharmacy even if my meds are due. He said I had to stay at his place even if other places have issues with their system or meds. Not one person would stick to that even if they were in pain management. Those folks can't wait two days to get their meds. Either way, why couldn't he be honest instead of making up some bullshit story that made zero sense? I stupidly decided to give them one more try after being discharged from the ER today. The ER doc pulled up my CURES, we talked about how it wasn't helping, he called my podiatrist so we were all on the same page and he gave me a teeny amount of meds to get through until Monday when I saw my podiatrist. THE TWO DOCTORS AGREED ON THAT. This time I came to Nathan equipped with my medical records and both doctor's personal cell phone numbers. Anyways, I got the good old "Karen" attitude and was mansplained out of the building. I made sure to say that they were "soup nazis" and gatekeeping to the point that reasonable folks can't get help. I obviously won't be back. I'm not sure how it's possible for CVS to not only do a more accurate job but also have a friendlier vibe. Sure the wait can be atrocious but I'll deal with that over SBP's Karen-isms. I refuse to be lied to and then told I'm full of shit. Why in the world would I randomly make up a story like that? There are so much better stories to make up. How is it possible for a mom and pop pharmacy to lose business to CVS? Blows my mind. My uncle has a huge Medicare profile that used to belong to Walgreens. It was so big that before of was moved over to SBP, Walgreens called to ask if everything was okay and why he moved. At South Bay Pharmacy my wife and I feel like family! Whenever we walk in they know our names and have our prescriptions ready to be rung up. They always greet you when you walk in and the staff is always beyond friendly. My wife recently gave birth and we were able to pick up her discharge medications immediately on our way home from the hospital. There are never lines there like the big chain pharmacies. There is something very special about locally owned pharmacies. They do not have to answer to a corporation- their only goals is to serve their community and take care of their patients. South Bay Pharmacy is very patient centered and I'd recommend this pharmacy to anyone in the area. We need to continue supporting our locally owned businesses. After having bad experience after bad experience at CVS, I decided to change and give South Bay Pharmacy a try, I can tell I was not in the least disappointed. They are so nice, courteous, and knowledgeable. The entire staff and every single person I have interacted with are so amazing and fast!!! This is my favorite pharmacy to go to, I rarely have to wait for my prescriptions and they are always friendly. Can't say enough good things about it, there was some issue with my insurance since I had recently moved, and the head guy came over to help out and got it squared away (I was under two different addresses or something like that), I enjoy coming here every time, and they send me text/call/email notifications. The staff is great but Nathan is off and on....I'm going to tell a long tale but you need to know all of my misery because telling only a portion would be a lie....I went to ER because Blue Shield nurse advised me. I was afraid to go but I went because I'm dying slowly due to advanced pancreatitis and if that wasn't enough I have advanced AR that attacks my organs and is closing the opening in my spine. it has traveled up from C5 to C4 in less then a year. I maybe have a year or 1/2 if the pancreatitis doesn't do me in. I also have severe stenosis in my back. Something happened to me that caused my back to spasm and the pain was so terrible....unrelenting....i couldn't even walk. it kicked off my pancreas so it wasn't working so hot. I lost 20obs in 3 weeks....yes I suffered at home for 3 weeks...I finally called the nurse because my BP was crazy high...168/107 while on meds for that so I knew the pain was causing it. I called 911 which was good. Then I get to the hospital and they ask me why I'm there! They tell me I'm chronic and I shouldn't be there. On top of me not walking...Southbay Pharmacy decided of all days that I was early and they were not giving my meds unitl exactly 30 days. Let me tell you that my insurance lets everyone get their meds 4 days early because sometimes the meds have to be ordered! These unkind man, Nathan at that place once lost his license for a week and didn't bother to inform or forward scripts to another pharmacy. very selfish. anyways I'm dealing with this arrogance because I have been sent with meds to fail! my god please help me! I'm having a tough time managing pancreatic attacks, back pain, hands not working due to RA,, RSD on left ankle because of a bad reconstruction surgery that crippled me, a right knee that needs to be replaced. Dr. Purne was only suppose to do a debribement but instead without consulting me removing my cape & accidentally damaged my patella so that's been dragging across my cartiledge free bone due to a doctor who wanted to get paid big time for a knee replacement that he set me up for which I never did because I knew that I have the bones of an 84 year old or more (scan was old) and it would fail because it would have nothing to anchor! Doesn't take a rocket scientist for that although I come close to that as serving 25+ years in Aerospace and Dod as an Sr. Engineer in design. Folks when you are chonic; you are a reminder of mortality which no one likes! Anyways I had to tell all of this so you know just where I'm at. So here I'm at in the ER and they treat me like the worst piece of living flesh bag. They give me pain meds and the nurse has the audacity being young and throughly healthy how much they've given me and all my blood was fine. I knew if they sent me home with out the ability to walk I'd be in tough times. I pulled the sheet covers over my head and prayed God take me but my prayers were not fullfilled. i had been laying in same cloths for 2 days and I was weak. the Doc asked why I was here. I told them the pharm wouldn't release my meds and I was fighting this new nerve cramping and couldn't walk. They do not care. they released me with 168/110 and a matching fast heart rate because this was my pain level even with morphine. I don't want to be here any more. How can someone who worked 89+ hours, raised 2 kids for my fiancee-the best thing I ever did! End up like this? Never drank, smoked and ran plently. I was muscular from all my activities when I was younger; gymnastics, surfing, roller blading and running. That's the terrible draw of life. Don't go to Torrance Memorial if your choniclly disabled. when you check in they'll label you as unemployed instead of your disability status. who contritie of them. This ER will kill you! They want to cull the chronics. They left me in a wheel chair all by myself in a windy garage with no blanket when I had no jacket or shoes. I still couldn't walk and they discharged me with a crazy BP with no BP meds because I was out at home due to experimenting with new type of meds to get my BP down but it's hard due to the pain I'm in. And they gave me no means to walk! I should have been checked into the hospital and worked with to rehabilitate me so I can walk. I wasn't even given a walker! How was I suppose to go bathroom with dysentery always present for me and that why I lost so much body mass. Please take care of your loved ones and find a better hospital. A hospital that doesn't want chronic illness is one that doesn't like a reminder of human frality, mortality and love lost. we that are chroniclly ill always have that lost look. it's because we know what's happening and don't have the guts to finish what nature is doing.... read more

Any questions you have They will completely help you. Nathan the one in Charge is very humble , and the most nicest gently man I've ever met!! They always have my meds On time. I never have to wait. And I always get the medications I need that my doctor sends over. I have never , ever had a problem with them. I have gone to other pharmacy's before lik cvs. And it's not the same. I will never go anywhere else as long as I live in this area. I will never forget when I was all alone and my white count dropped to 2 on chemo and I got a fever. I called the pharmacy and asked if they could deliver the antibiotics that I needed to pretty much stay alive. I was so sick and couldn't drive or hardly walk. Their currier had gone for the day and the store was closing. But, Nathan hand-delivered the antibiotics to my door and made sure I was okay. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff! They usually don't have a long line, and they never seemed annoyed when my kids played with all the toys and goodies. I used to have to get specific medication for my mom while she underwent chemo & surgery, and they were able to quickly get her meds, unlike CVS. This is the most professional pharmacy in this area. Nathan will go out of his way to find the proper medication you need. He is very professional and keeps his conversations with you very private. Nathan respects your privacy which is very hard to find in other larger pharmacies that try to embarrass their customers by trying to announce to all in the store your private information. Other pharmacies seem to enjoy denying your right to medication that is rightly yours. Nathan knows that you have rights and he will do more for you to make sure you have the medication you need. AWESOME STAFF!!! I have been going to South Bay Pharmacy for all my family medications for a decade or more. All of the staff are very professional, friendly, and helpful. They go out of their way to help you. They call the Doctors office when I need refill authorization and follow up with me and the Doctors office. Nathan will offer generic options and explain the difference and go over new medication protocol. There is never more than 1-2 people in line and you are in and out the door in a few minutes. If you are dropping off a prescription and waiting it will only be about 10 minutes. parking can be a bit challenging at times, but that I can deal with. read more
