Our server was on top of it the entire time - fresh, hot coffee in a nice size mug that she kept filled our entire visit. The menu is huge and everything coming out of the kitchen looked great. I ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage and a side of hashbrowns. The burrito was loaded with eggs, veggies and sausage with a great salsa verde on the side. Biggest enough to share or leave with leftovers. My husband ordered the hoosier frittata which was massive and topped with sausage gravy. He upgraded for $2 for the side pancake which was perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. He helped with my burrito and ended up taking more than half his home which he said was just as good warmed up the next day. Service was great and the manager stopped by every table to check in. First time here, noon on a Monday , and we were seated quickly. Service was prompt and our meal came out fairly quickly. Eggs Benedict with salmon for me, Patty Melt for RRR. The PM was huge and just right for him and his fries were nice and crispy. My EB was delicious with lots of spinach and lox. This plus the hollandaise and English muffin was a nice mix of healthy and indulgent. My only complaint was that it wasn't hot enough. It comes with potatoes but they let me sub fruit salad, upcharge, which was really good, lots of different fruits. This place was good! We went on a nice Saturday for brunch and they were busy but we waited maybe 7 minutes for a table. The food was good and so was our coffee. My husband got a skillet and I got huevos rancheros. The only thing off putting to me was that the biscuits and gravy meat was a very light color. Almost like the color of chicken? I'm not sure why. I can't remember what the menu said but I am used to sausage gravy and it having a darker color for the meat.. so i probably wouldn't order that again. The skillet was really good too but I think I would have preferred to have my eggs on the side or under the steak and gravy. Cute place tucked in a strip in front of Meijer. We visited here after church one Sunday morning and I was shocked how appealing it was. I immediately received good vibes because I noticed two people working here from another restaurant that I hadn't seen in a couple of years. I was a bit surprised to see how expensive an iced coffee is- but I guess rent it high as well. I ordered the burrito with sausage and just thought it was ok. They also have some nice tables with umbrellas for shade out on the patio. The host was friendly and our server too. As busy as they were, I was impressed with how prompt everything was. The coffee was delicious and rich and not too bitter. I ordered Huevos Rancheros. Eggs were perfectly cooked over medium as I requested and all of the ingredients were fresh. The chorizo was flavorful with just the right amount of spice. My husband ordered the French Toast, which made me jealous so I ordered a side of French toast too and I'm glad I did. Thick slices of brioche bread perfectly battered and fluffy. My husband in particular enjoyed the maple whipped cream on his. Oh and I can't forget the diced potatoes! Crispy, seasoned and lightly battered. They were the perfect accompaniment to the whole meal. We enjoyed our visit so much I ended up taking my parents there the following weekend. The menu is a bit pricey for Carmel area. I am from Chicago (proper) and I don't think I've ever spent $60 on breakfast for 2 people. My daughter ordered the French toast with sausage. I ordered a coffee with Almond Milk and the veggie omelet with cheese. We added cheese to the omelet and sausage as a side order. The omelet was unmemorable. Not bad, just hohum And my cheese came out on the side salad that came with the omelet instead of in the omelet. How did we get to $58... the sides, add-ons and almond milk. We had to beg for water. When I asked "can we get some water" I got a glass but had to ask for an additional glass for my daughter. When my water was out I couldn't find my server to ask for a refill. (Remember the place is small... so where could he have gone?)!. We had to ask for silverware and syrup. We were in Carmel Indiana for a baseball tournament for my nephew and it was hotter than the surface of the Sun there but I still had a craving for coffee and breakfast. I hopped on Yelp to try to find a place that was close and Sunny Day Cafe having to pop up. Place is pretty well hidden in a strip mall next to a hotel but it did not disappoint. We did not have to wait long I ended up getting the two egg combo with sausage hash browns and potatoes and a side of biscuits and gravy. My wife and I split the biscuits and gravy and it too was awesome. She's not very fond of eggs but I do like that she ended up getting the perfect French toast which I'll be honest I probably need more strawberries and blueberries in my life and I snuck a bite of her French toast which satisfied that craving. You can tell that the people that ran the place and work there really cared about it and we got great service I have nothing to complain about. Offered to give me a coffee to go to but I was already Way full and had a 5-Hour drive back home. With any luck I'll be back in Carmel next season and I'll be able to stop back in. read more
